- Fondant Potatoes are a really lovely way to prepare them. And when they’re finished you’ll have these wonderfully flavorful potatoes with a crispy outside, and a delicious soft and fluffy interior.
For the ingredients I have:
4 russet potatoes
2 tbsps of vegetable oil
4 tbsps of butter
Some sprigs of thyme
4 cloves of garlic
Salt and Pepper
1 ½ cups of chicken or vegetable stock
I am getting spolied by this daily series. Thanks for your expertise Clive!
Thanks Scott
Great... now I want these. Clive you’re the best man!
Cheers Robert
These videos are perfect🔥🔥
Many thanks
The best one Clive
Cheers Tony
You never fail to please. Never seen such good looking fondant potatoes.
One of the things I love about your oven is the smooth transition as you move things in and out. Even your Tuscan grill doesn’t get caught up on the space between the tile and the oven floor. Smart design that as you pull stuff out, everything slides easily and all on one level.
That was an important part of the design Cris
Pretty sure this is version that will be or should be taught to aspiring chefs. What a wonderful indulgence of time effort and skill. 🙏🏻💕
Many thanks
Thank you for investing your time in making these videos! They are relaxing, entertaining and educational. Well done!
My pleasure!
Clive, you are an inspiration for us all. The recipes all look delicious, but also your presentation style and cinematography are outstanding. Thanks for these videos!
Thank you so much. More to come
They should make a Master Chef show with pizza ovens, Clive could be a judge :-)
I'm happy with my just my generous UA-cam audience
If your videos were grainy and out of focus I'd still watch them because the content is so valuable and you exude the calm confidence to which every wood oven chef aspires.
Instead, the production quality is so outstanding as to render each episode pure gold. From the wonderful score and crackling fire at the intro through the final beauty shot at the end, and every great camera angle in between, your videos never cease to be compelling, informative, and entertaining.
Thank you so much!
Many thanks for your kind comment
I am New to your channel and it is really inspiring to a point I am getting my own wood fire oven for my garden soon. I Love cooking as well and this primitive way of cooking has always been my passion. All the Spanish paellas 🥘 I cook are wood fire 🔥 always, there is no other way.
Thanks for getting in touch. I’m glad you enjoyed the videos and really appreciate the feedback.
OH my God... I cannot wait to taste...let us just add a prime rib eye medium rare and the world will be grateful for the evening...
👍🏼
This is poetry, not just potatoes ;>)
Thanks
From the thumbnail I thought this would be some big undertaking, but it seems surprisingly simple. Will have to try. Thanks!
Very simple
Absolutely stunning. I love fondant potatoes and these look delicious. I am really enjoying this potato series you are putting out.
Thank you so much 😊
Wow, looks like scallop, I am still repairing my portable brick oven, I will try this. Thank you, Chef.......
Thanks
Bravo, almost too beautiful to eat. Frenchie didn't get the close up it deserved. Truffle needs to be front and center again.
She's not always that cooperative
Sensational
Thanks Tommy
How much wine was consumed while waiting? 😂
All of it
You could always use a ring mold to cut potatoes
Great suggestion
you make everything look effortless yet pintrest perfect!
Thanks
I bought an Alfa wood fired oven (to start out with before building one) literally because of you and these episodes!! Thank you for these timeless pieces. I also appreciate your tips on which accessories and cooking pans/utensils to use.
So did I many years ago. I bought the refractory concrete shell for my Alps house in Italy and layered it. Alfa no longer makes refractory shells: only steel. Hard to believe.
I look forward to hearing about your cooking adventure Sue
Looks amazing Clive. Great to learn some new presentation techniques 🔥🔥🙏. Just delightful.
Many thanks Mark
As always, this is the most exquisitely produced channel on UA-cam; every post is a pleasure to watch, a bit like vacation from the hard reality we have been living in for the past two years. Thank you all so much for this.
Thank you for your kind comment
You are a LEGEND, I really enjoy watching your videos
Thank you!
Excuse Sir...but where did you get that oven??? Frank, the old dude from NC that wants to learn...
Hello Frank. If you would like to email me through my website I will send you all the information you need about my oven.
👏👏👏...
👍🏼
❤️🍷👏
😄
Mac knives, nice 👍🏻 have a few of those. My santoku is missing though, maybe the dryer ate it 😢
Love my Mac's
Good good 👌
Thanks
Look incredible, was surprised at the reasonably high temperature that you cooked them at. I look forward to following your recipe in my own wood fired oven.
Thanks Kieran
Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you!
Again, fantastic Clive. One the hardest potato recipes to nail down - just ask any Masterchef contestant! Top stuff mate.
Cheers Matt
Doesn't your wine get warm being that close to the oven mouth? Or is it gone before it has a chance to heat up?
Yes, I drink it before it has a chance to be affected by the oven heat 😄
SIMPLE THE BEST
Thanks Christina

Ughh I just remember I runned out of wood. Got to borrow some from the neighbor tomorrw
😄
Clive, I feel that if you were to release a video every week I could save the cost of my therapist.
Chill, Richard
I'll try harder Richard 😄
Great as always. More sauce please. BRAVO!
Thanks Bob
I love your videos! Going to try this soon…🤤
Thanks Julia
when a dinner together with a wood oven theme?
It's on a very long list of things to do
Aesthetics as always in 1st place!!!
Thank you1
Wow. Yes please I would like one of those
😄
These videos are therapeutic.
🙏🏼
Why does Clive look like a man who got really lucky on some investments and is just chilling through life?
I think he played General Zod in Superman II
@@jinjamin He could use his eyes to cook!
Hes an exec and I imagine works pretty hard
I don’t doubt he works hard. But he has the face of someone who caught a big break somewhere and has nothing to fear….
Good looking potatoes! Well played!
I gotta try making them too. They look amazing for having them with fish!
Thank you
amazing as always!!!
Thanks again Anastasios
Jeez, you are spoiling us all with regular videos. Thanks again for sharing. SO appreciated. Namaste from New Zealand.
Thanks Miles
You sir are an artist! An artist with your food as well as your video productions. I feel like I should grab a glass of wine to watch each of these with. ;-) I was surprised at how long they still took to cook given the temp of the oven (total elapsed time 1 hour? at 650 degrees).
Thanks Brad
Clive binged watched the episodes and all up to the fabulous quality of pace and direction ! Outstanding 👌
My next days off my oven is on and I will be cooking one of your beautiful recipes
Great!
You make potato’s look so amazing. Everything you make looks so great. Always excited to watch your videos.
