I’m just a naïve Australian so I have a strange idea, maybe lifting the minimum wage to a livable wage would save the budget $billons as far more people wouldn’t have to rely on food stamps etc plus the government would get an increase in revenue through increased payroll tax Also, if the rich and corporations payed the correct amount of tax as well as put a halt to government subsidies to highly profitable businesses (corporate welfare) than the government will get increased revenue from these measures, I’m sure just doing these 3 things would give MElon Musk& FElon Trump their $ trillion budget savings.. Trump does not want to raise the minimum wage. He wants to lower it or make it a mandatory $7.25 an hour. The extra money businesses get will help the rich people so they can buy more yachts and private jets.

I think he is saving one reconciliation bill for his tax cuts, later. They get one reconciliation bill per fiscal year, although they can apparently use the second one sooner than the 2nd year. I don't see any likelihood that they have a majority in the house after the mid-terms in 2026. So, there won't be a third in 2027.

A huge cut in Medicaid spending certainly doesn't bode well for West Virginia - we have a $153 million deficit in our Medicaid program alone, making up 39% of our overall budget deficit. Add to that our new Governor, who has a firm belief that most of the Medicaid deficit is due to fraud, because apparently that's what poor, disabled people do all day - commit Medicaid fraud.🤔 Un-f*****g-real, smh.

My wife’s grandfather gets SNAP. $94 a month, with $1100 a month from Social Security. His entire budget wouldn’t even cover my housing costs. He has to live with us because of this. *this* is what they consider wasteful, undeserved payment. It’s sickening.
