These tips have just changed my entire life right here right now (my entire life is currently jumproping) : my rope is no longer 10 kilometers long, and I've stopped destroying the kitchen at each crossed under 😂 My kitchen THANKS YOU Tori Boggs I can now conquer the entire world with my very short jumprope. 💃🏄
After over 30 years break from jumping rope (I'm 68 and retired now) I'm about to start a new journey and so glad I found your profile. You're amazing! Love your tips on starting to do jump rope, especially starting with 30 seconds jumping to avoid injury and use my time learning other aspects of jumping. Just got my jumping mat and waiting on my beaded rope. I'm excited to get into a very cool exercise regiment and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks so much for sharing...
Hey Tori! I’ve been a big fan since I was 7 and started jumping and I’m now almost 14! I used to be on Jump Company with Rochelle but I unfortunately had to move but I haven’t stopped jumping since! I actually have a picture of us together after my first competition when I got to do doubles with you at jump wars! You’ve made a big impact on my life and I wanted to say thank you 😊
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope Yeah I am! I’m on a different team that helped me with my show skills while jump comp. helped with competition skills so I get the best of both worlds 😅
Awesome. I just ordered one of the torque ropes and watching videos to learn how to do it without slicing myself to bits. Trying to get back to 100% after injury.
I started jump roping 8 months ago and it’s a game changer. My fist love is weight lifting but having picked up jump running, I feel so light on my feet, vibrant and fun. Seeing your videos is so motivational and shared with my colleagues. Thank you for being an inspiration!!!
Just saw your video on wired with my daughter by my side. Just feeling floored and wanted to say how impressed we both were. We basically looked at each other and said the word ninja out loud. Nice to find you on youtube :) !
Hello kid. I am glad that you are so enthusiastic about your sport. I will try to take your advice into account. I want to continue using the rope, because maybe it will help me overcome my problem. I have a very acute B12 deficiency, and I need to do a bit more movement with my legs and my whole body. I think the rope can help anyone who needs some movement, and has little will to improve their body functions. I wish you success in everything you want to do!
This is an excellent tuTORIal and great fundamentals. One thing Champions always have in common is they have mastered the fundamentals. As for your request for “some other tips” to add to the list, a cool down activity after training is always a great idea. You wouldn’t stop your car with the emergency brake, would you? Surely not. The same goes for your heart, after the training is complete you should gradually walk your heart rate down. With something as simple as walking or a very slow pace on a stationary bike, etc. Also these gentle muscle contractions aid in the lymphatic system. Thank you for making this in-depth UA-cam video and I look forward to more in the future. Best Regards, -Anthony Fucello II
Thanks for the great video Tori. I loved jumping rope since I was a kid back in my home on the mediterranean Island of Malta. Look forward to seeing more videos.
Tori… firstly, I hope you read these comments! I know Saltare enjoyed all of the support we got from the great community we share. Secondly, remember that not everyone is going to be nice in what they have to say online. Do yourself a big favor and ignore any haters :) Thirdly, and most importantly, I hope you cherish the moment you are in and enjoy every second of it! I could not be more proud of the little girl I remember from trials in 2006… in that lonely practice gym in boulder, practicing three minute speed in the corner with your mom and your boombox and your time cd. I had never seen anyone work as hard as you did that day. I’m pretty sure you ran your three minute speed at least 10 times in an hour. All of that work has and will continue to pay off. Congratulations on a job well done, and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us!
Hey Tyler! Thanks so much for this very kind comment. I totally do remember trials in 2006 - this was a crazy memorable year to be honest! Really appreciate all of your support and, of course, all of the impact you have had on our sport! We are always a jump rope family building off one another. Hope all is well and that you're still jumping around 😄
What an amazing video Tori! You have a gift for sharing knowledge and passion about rope jump! Best introduction to jumping video, the tips are really great (love the one about breaking it down!) Thank you for creating the channel and thanks for your wonderful tutorials! 😄🙏
Maybe a silly question, but... Is there any way to dampen the sounds or make it easier on the joints? Like wearing extra soft sneakers or jumping on a soft mat. So that joints have it easier (especially for heavier people) and downstairs neighbors won't go crazy from the stopping sounds? Or do you simply need hard surface? And how much space do you need? Can it be done in a small apartments?
@@renlam2905 That is a great question. For sure you can dampen the sound. Using a PVC vs Beaded rope will be quieter. A mat in general is smart - it reduces impact and will keep things quieter. Avoid surfaces that give friction, like grass or a really thick rug. And yes! It can be done in small apartments!
Excellent video, Tori. For me, I wish I had known about beaded jump rope when I started. I jump primarily with beaded jump rope now. Also, great advice on the length. There are waaay too many tips on UA-cam and I find yours is the best. I believe you mentioned this before in Tiktok or IG? Looking forward to more videos in the future. Keep em coming Tori
Hi Sylvester - Thank you so much for your support! Hopefully the word about beaded ropes and proper sizing is getting out there 👍🏻 Glad to hear you are jumping!
Breaking down, that's why I have learnt during my dance classes. That's what I do when I watch recorded instruction videos. Yet, I forget to do the same when I apply it on practice.😅 I still don't do jumprope, but I do enjoy the positive attitude of you in your videos.
Tori Boggs - you're amazing 🤩!! I tried out for a jump roping team in middle school sponsored by American Heart Association... and i've continued throughout my life with it here & there but not at all at your level 💥 Keep jumping and inspiring🙌

Excellent video, great choice for starting the channel! very interesting tips. I've always done some jumping for training, so for me it's only basic step, boxer step, heel to toe. But I still can't get a proper DU series, so I'm quite the beginner. It would be awesome if you can share some tips on it! Thanks and rock on!

Motivation to keep at it every day without fail. Any tips on getting in the right frame of mind will be great, the other stuff I can learn from your videos.
Hi Tori, Thank you for making these vids. I am a big supporter! Can you tell what are the shoe model you use in this video? They look awesome. I am currently looking for a good looking shoe with a lot of cushioning for jumping :)
Tip from me: Don't be heavy and try to jump rope as cardio. Works well and is fun for like 2-3 weeks, and then you can say goodbye to walking for a few weeks.
@@Torquexotic The PVC rope will be great too. Depends on where you are using it. If you want a heavier rope that you will use on concrete or rough surfaces, the beaded Resistance rope is better. But the PVC is great for indoor use :)
