I had a cheap 22lr Savage with a banana peel soft stock. What I did was glass bed inside the plastic stock to harden it up and to give a little extra weight cuz I felt it was too light. Let me tell you it did wonders, it made the stock extremely rigid and the extra weight made it feel more rugged. That thing shoots lights out up to 100 yards don't believe me ask the foxes in my backyard that was going after my chickens....riiiight you can't no more.
In what state was that coyote shot. He has a thick, beautiful fur. I'm guessing a more northern state than here in Oklahoma. Also, what was the thermal scope and did it have rnge finding on it? thanks.
Upper Michigan. It's a Pulsar Thermion2 XP50. No LRF on my model.....just the stadiametric ranging which is pretty much useless. You sort of get used to what a coyote looks like at a certain magnification and estimate the range pretty closely after that.

I will take a "cheap" Savage over any other common brand. Groups like that are not that rare.
