Do you have issues with the Bay's chop? I usually stick to the Manatee River and Palma Sola with a kayak, but I was looking into pontoons and debating a buddy telling me it gets rough in the bay with em. Do you have a decent amount of cautious days?
I try to stay off the water on windy and choppy days. The boat does surprisingly well but I don’t find that kind of weather much fun. I’ll choose smaller freshwater lakes to go to on those days.

I am hoping to get 20’ sylvan pontoon , how do you care for your pontoon boat in saltwater
I rinse both the boat and trailer as soon as I can. Then I spray it with a special soap called Salt Away. Then I wash with regular boat soap from top to bottom. Every time it touches saltwater, we clean it top to bottom. I’ve had no issues after 6 years.

How does the pontoon hold up in salt water ? I’m looking to buy but have read and heard different things .
This pontoon has been great in saltwater. You want to make sure you buy a pontoon build for saltwater with all stainless hardware. Not all pontoons are made for it. But the saltwater series from Sylvan has been great for us.
Have you taken your pontoon out to the shipping channels near the skyway
Yes we have. I plan to do some trolling for grouper when gags are in season.
how did the pontoon do in salf water?
Our pontoon does great in saltwater. In fact Sylvan has a package to build boats specifically for saltwater use.
Does the pontoon handle waves good? Looking for my first boat that doesnt make the wife sick here in Naples FL.
I love how stable a pontoon is. That said, a pontoon is a fair weather boat. I wouldn’t chance rough seas in one.
