I don't plan on removing my radio anytime soon but stumbled upon this video. Just gotta say I love how you make sure every step is visible. It's hard to do alone but you did it.
Thank you! Used this as the first step in replacing the T5 lights behind the temp/fan/airflow knobs in my 2011 Fit. Used another video to pull out the cluster shroud (no screws) and the knobs cluster (one Phillips screw). Didn't have to remove the radio wires, just pushed it up out of the way. Thanks again for the clear instructions.
A lot of UA-cam video maker are spreading out 5 minutes of content to 10 minutes. You on the other hand were informative, but short. I wanted to see what was behind the removed stereo for one. Good video and camera work, just show more.
Excellent video. I am the furthest from a car mechanic or whatever you'd call the person who tinkers with the interior of the car, but this video guided me to swapping out my busted 2010 Fit stereo with a new one (same factory stereo model/year), and it only took me an hour of my time and $50 total. Thanks @Diycarmodz
Very clear, concise and straight forward. Just a suggestion, aside from mentioning the tools required, perhaps a quick list on the video, would also be a huge help. Well done.
Excellent instructional video buddy. Helped me immensely. Love the tip about magnetising the screwdriver. Didn't need to do that myself as I had a socket driver. Dropping the lower glovebox definitely recommended for visibility!!! 🙂👍👍👍
Love the video! After all the clips were disengaged, your video show seemed to take no effort to pull the whole center panel out. No other viewers seemed to have problems pulling the center panel out. But mine had so much resistance at pulling out, I am afraid to tear apart anything. So I stocked there and come to search youtube, but still did not get more info in this regard. Keep searching...
This was so helpful. Thanks :) Also, I didnt have one of those magnetizers but i took a magnet off my fridge and runned the screwdriver on that and that worked to magnetize it. I also didnt have a pry tool and the flat head screwdriver wasnt working but a regular metal spoon worked in like 2 seconds. 👍
Are you able to access the temperature knob LED light after removing this panel? I have a loose bulb that only turns on when I hit the knob. Great tutorial!
Excellent video, thank you so much. The 8mm head bolt was missing from my radio which must have been left out at the factory since I'm the original owner. My volume control is funky so I think Im going to unsolder it so I and disassemble it and clean it,
Thank you!!!! I need this. I like how you explain the steps and appreciate the tips you throw, as well. Hope you could teach me how to replace the light bulbs of the climate control knobs, too. Thank you!
This is the reason I bought a whole new head unit for my wifes fit. But it doubles as an upgrade since its a full touchscreen with andriod auto and apple carplay😆
Hey, behind the unit, there were multiple connectors. Do you know if I can buy a cable with plug for the stereo on one side and USB female on the other and make my 2010 Honda Fit compatible with music on USB flash drive?
Hey man great video helped me a lot, but as soon as I put the aftermarket radio my dome lights don’t work and my radio doesn’t turn on idk what it would be i checked the fuses but I don’t know what would be also my key doesn’t lock it
this is bugging me!! whats that wiring harness attach to on that very first panel you pull off??? mine doesnt have the wires or the (im assuming) holes on the panel? just curious lol
@@DIYCarModzJust bought a Honda Jazz. Can you please help me if I have no USB actually, but I add a cable, do we need to enable the USB port somehow or it is automatically recognized when something is plugged in? Appreciate your help
Do you have a video of putting on a new radio kit? To the right of the hazards button is the airbag light. I can’t find a kit that includes the airbag light in the kit, they all only have a spot for the hazards.
Anyone know which of these harnesses leads to the antenna? My fit had an aftermarket radio when I got it and the antenna wasn't hooked up. There are 3 harnesses not plugged in and idk which is which
i'm really not sure if i got the 8mm bolt on my late 08 GG3 cause i've not seen it when i lurke through the glovebox - once my Honda Jazz got recalled cause of bad airbag's and once the heatblower died - they somehow removed radio in one of these repairs cause i see really tiny little spots round they used tools on - maybe they lost my 8mm in the dash :D
My light inside the AC ON/OFF selector/button (next to Rear defrost) must have burned out.. do you think I can access this and replace it with this section removed? Thanks.
Thank you for this video...does anyone here know how to replace the bulbs for the heater fan and temperature controls? Those 3 dials next to the radio...
This! Mine have slowly been going out 1 by 1. First it was the bulb in the defroster button, then 1 on the vent dial went out, now the a/c button light is out. I prefer to change lights myself, but this video makes it seem like those bulbs are hard to access, even after dismantling the console 😕
hi i need to know the brand of this radio. They told me that it should be on a sticker on the chasis of the readio, but i cant see it on this video. by any chance is it Panasonic?? thanks!
can you show how to remove the frame where the cigarette lighter is on? or explain it to me? i have pried the top side and it does not seem to want to come off, i dont wanna force it, i fear breaking it. would appreciate it
2012 Sport the air circulation controller is blocking the radio bolt. This method doesn’t work. Trying to figure out another way... (my fan-speed control bulb is out)
The vehicle in this video is a 2012 Honda Fit sport and the procedure I'm demonstrating is the removal process illustrated from Honda Service manual. As seen on this video, it works.
DIY: Car Modz Hmmm....i checked again. In my car there is a big white piece (the air circulation module) blocking the bolt. Do i have to move this piece out of the way first? There’s no place to stick the socket and extension through to get the bolt. Thanks.
My 2012 Base Model also has this thing in the way, thank you both for that info. Before I came back and found @jdmikeg4 comment, I’m like this is a lot harder than it looks but I also saw mine was different. My Vents above it also come out with the unit.

Great video. Loved the part on the magnetization so the screw wouldn't fall to the abyss in the back. A lot of detail in a short time.
After seeing a few of this procedure explanations, I have no doubt that this one is the best of them all. Many thanks to the author!

Hello nice and helpful video, just a question. Do you need to unplug the battery terminal as many do? Thank you!!
It is recommended to unplug the negative battery post when working with any thing related to electronics on a vehicle.
