I think we all knew he was going to eat even when he said he wasn't. Thank goodness for the long hallways.
RIGHT! lmaoo
...the foodie my favorite part of the show that and naps after🤤😴
I enjoy seeing what he eats. Couldn't get past the beef tongue though. It seems like he eats a ton with all those bowls in front of him. But my guess is that each bowl is a small portion except for maybe the rice.
@@susansprouse1023 I've heard tales of beef tongue, like it can be very chewy if not done properly but the one on his other channel didn't seem to be that way. I'd try it, not sure if I would like it. An yeah, the portion sizes seem more appropriate for sampling.
"I changed my mind."
"Beef curry rice changed my mind."
😆
I'm in the U.S. and homebound because I'm caring for an elderly relative 24/7/365. I can't tell you how much it means to watch your ferry videos. Some day-when I'm free to travel-I'll try a number of them. They look so much more relaxing than a cruise ship. Much better than Disneyland on the water.
Yes you are absolutely right.
Cruise ships have gotten ridiculous. Who wants to ride Go-Karts and go on water slide rides in the middle of the ocean with 5000 of your new best friends.
I would love to be able to take one of these overnight ferry trips. ⛴
@@sunnyscott4876 i saw a special on tv where they talk about those cruise ships. So I looked up the price. OMG it's too much. then people spend an extra 50%. I didn't know so many people have money.
Yes. Thank goodness for UA-cam and the escape/education it provides. I recently got my mother into an independent/assisted living facility. I feel much better now that I’m free.
I remember when buckwheat pillows were hot in the US. I bought one, but it was like sleeping on cereal. I love watching your ferry videos. "I'm going to let my tummy re......oooh snacks." LOL
@Gerry S.S I have one for years now. And it does support the neck very wel, because you can shape it to fit the space. Once you lie on it it becomes ferm. It regulates the temperature very well. I take it every where I go and stay overnight. It’s a bit have while traveling, that’s the only down site.
@Gerry S.S hm maybe if you don't move in your sleep. I move a lot before falling asleep and during my sleep so I'm better off with a memory foam pillow. Mine is also large and heavy enough to stay where it is. I'm also notorious for throwing my stuff out of the bed during my sleep 😆
My mom bought me one of those as a Christmas present, when the buckwheat pillow thing was a craze. I could never get used to it.
sleeping on cereal... yep.
@Gerry S.S The thing with buckwheat pillows is that a lot of it comes down to the pillow case.
People who say it's too firm probably have a pillow case that is too tight or it's still too new. You can take it out of the case it comes with and put it into a regular pillow case and then depending on how you wrap it make it firmer or more lose.
Thanks for all your Videos! They relax me and lebt mehr sleep peacefully. Greetings from Germany 👋
Das geht mir genauso.
Thanks for saying that!
Same for me 🙂
From France 💖
& me from the uk, hello fellow Europeans from over the sea 🤚🏻 & everyone else 👍🏼
Me too! In Singapore
I will probably not ever get to go to Japan, but I love traveling vicariously with you. I had no idea how common ferry travel is, though being an island nation, that makes a lot of sense. It makes the travel seem like a mini holiday all on its own. Can't wait to see where you go next!
I've watched more than a few of these and I've concluded a few things:
1. They're very relaxing
2. I would dehydrate in Japan as I don't like/drink green tea
3. These ferries are either very under-used or you're great at filming around people
4. Vending machines rule in Japan's transportation systems
Thanks for these videos.
You should give the green tea in Japan a try or perhaps the flavored ones at least. Kirin makes a Lemon green tea and that thing is amazing and I also am not crazy for "regular" green tea.
I was also wondering about the crowds or lack thereof. I wonder if it's just because of covid.
Vending machines also rule everywhere in Japan lol.
@@Komainu959 I do love quite a few other teas (only hot though) and have survived living my whole life in the US not liking coffee, so I guess anything's possible. Have a good one!
The trucks are the thing that they carry the most.
where are the people :O
In Japan you’re never more than 100 paces from a drink vending machine, so dehydration is impossible!
Plus Pocari Sweat is the most thirst quenching drink ever.
I like that you allow the happy food on these ships to travel in your belly. I also like that they do not allow other passengers on the ships while you are there. It is nice.
He is actually traveling during the off-season so there is significantly less passengers on board.
It wouldn't make sense for a ferry company to not allow other passengers on just for him to take some video.
I actually feel like kind of in an adventure game, when you show those foyers without any passengers or go to a shop where's no other people around, like you have to find some keys or other hints and clues to fulfill your mission :)
I love these. It's like listening to relaxing music, only slightly funnier. :)
Like music for your eyes!!
Once again another great video. You don't disappoint. These videos are wounderful. Love these boat trips. Food looks great. 👍😎⭐⭐⭐⭐
I enjoy your videos very much. They calm me.
same lol
2:13 It looks like you walked into a Studio Ghibli film! LOL
duno why these quiet and simple ferry trips are so satisfying
My partner and I watch your videos and find them to be very fun. We feel like we know you now! haha. We know your favorite foods, we know you love to eat! If we ever come visit, I know because of your videos, we will want to experience a Ferry ride or two. Perhaps we can connect and travel on one together, so you can help us read the menu!! hahah Much love from NE Washington, USA.
IKR! Me too!
Finally! a video of Shin Nihonkai Ferry "Lilac". Looks like my prayers has been answered about reviewing this beautiful ship!
Thank you Solo. Great travel memoir and loved the food, especially the very last dish.
Appreciate the time you spend filming, editing, and adding the English chyrons for us.
You are the best!
Thank you! Watching you is how I currently "travel." That first picture of the ocean was amazing. I know the name Akita is a breed of dog, just like Chihuahua in Mexico. =)
👍🏼Yes! 🐕 Dog is my first thought when I hear "Akita." They are great! 🐾🐾 😎✌🏼
Love it!
I think it’s cute that they announce the sister ship passing. Nice little tradition
I don't think i can ever get tired of seeing Curry + Rice or Katsu pork/chicken cutlet. It must be comfort food for this channel's traveler.
When I saw the brollys I thought of gene Kelly singing in the rain ha ha. Lovely video, I always laugh at the name for the toilets is called a restroom. No I don’t need a rest, just need a loo. That’s what northern uk people called it.
1. I'm so glad you finally got your hambagu steak!
2. I laughed so hard when you saw the lunch menu, I knew you'd give in.
3. The long hallway 😂 enough said.
Lovely video as always. The sea is gorgeous this time around.
It sounds like buckwheat husks
*Nice*
Thank you for the videos of your clean, well-organized & beautiful country. We enjoyed them very much.
Another great cruise! Enjoyed watching the trucks coming off the ferry ⛴. Thank you for including that.
It has been since 1986 since I was in Japan. Yet your videos bring me back to being that gaijin standing at Shinjuku station smiling in joy at the adventure ahead.
Thank you,
Maybe one day you can go to Akita to make a video on the food there 👀
The view from the ship was really nice, but when you showed outside the window in your room I was half expecting someone else to open the curtains on the other window 😅
Thanks for sharing!!!
Have been traveling to Japan for the past few years since 2017 with my family. We love Japan. We hope to return n travel by ferry when Covid is over. Love yr videos.
I think you touched a warm spot in all of us with your great travel videos. Although we all have traveled alone at times in our lives, we do try to make our trips as pleasant and interesting as possible. You have mastered story telling through the lens of your camera and your writings. We become glued to our screens, wondering where will you will go next. As we virtually come along for the ride. No matter where we are in the world. Thanks for sharing.
I like that there are 3 plotlines between all the videos: 1) I'm not getting curry this trip, 2) I might get curry this trip, 3) Where's the curry!!!
I was eating ramen when you showed the Katsu Don at the end. I wanted to throw my ramen away and eat with you!
I get so hungry watching your videos!
That arcade was awesome! This ship is like the Golden Saucer from FF7 lol
Also, your love of Hamburg steaks sustains me. Someone needs to buy you a hamburger one of these days
Really.... golden saucer?.... u might need to re-evaluate yourself!
👍🏼😋 Yes, I agree that the crispy pork cutlets near the end of your journey made the entire trip worthwhile! Looks fantastic! 😎✌🏼
I love your videos!! They are so interesting And relaxing!! Hello from the Southern US, (Alabama)
When you got on board and watched the decoration i thought was a carnival on the way, i loved the video from the begining to the end, specially those views from the sea of japan, i was thinking what meals were you gonna try this time and they looked so tasty , thank you for another fantastic video
I love your videos so much! Very wholesome.
I really enjoy these videos. Its amazing how varied the food is. This one seems to be one of the best for food, English signage, comfort and a fun atmosphere.
The vibe of your videos are always calming, yet so entertaining to watch. You also gave enough information about what you eat/what you did/what should we do about anything you explained.
Lastly, all of your vlogs always gave a positive vibes.
Keep it up :)

Beautiful ships. Makes me wish I was travelling
Thank you for liking my comment. I appreciate your videos very much 🙏
Thank you for sharing. I loved the information and especially the food choices. Going to have to ferry travel when I get back over there.
I like the lobby decor.
Thanks for the videos, I love them! Hugs from California!
Another awesome video!
I always enjoy watching your car ferry videos while imagining me traveling on the same ferries in the Mediterranean in 5 to 10 years time, maybe between Venice and Patras, or between Heraklion and Piraeus, enjoying chicken gyros and beer on the deck and tasty Greek cuisine at the cafeteria, as these ships will inevitably pass on to Mediterranean ownerships when they retire. I did travel on one of Lilac’s ‘senior sister’s ship in the aforementioned routes in the past 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed the journeys. Maybe Mr Solo Traveler you should do a few videos in future on how these ex- Japanese ferries go out there. All the best.
Sounds like a good idea! I hope he follows your suggestion.
