UPDATE - 1/7/23 - This kit is still working flawlessly. I have had no issues with it so far. I installed a second one on my other door, and have had no issues with it either. On another note, getting extra keys made was not an easy task. Finding the correct blank key was nearly impossible. After going to several retailers, I ended up finding them at ACE Hardware. It wasn't exact match, but it did end up working. Thanks to everyone that has watched. Have a great day, and God Bless.
@@kimberry8731 I would be lying if I said my memory was good enough to remember. If you are talking about the "speed clip" that I hammered on, then any deep well socket that is just a little bit smaller in diameter will do. If it is one of the nuts then I will have to try to remember to check this weekend when I am back there.
Couldn't help but notice you ran your cables backward. The fittings go in the Center assembly holes and the Bare Cables ends pass through the notch in the Spring latches and is captured by the Bolt/Top Washer and backside nut. Works perfect and makes tensioning the cable a breeze.
Thanks! I took screen shots and notes to supplement the instructions which I probably wouldn't have understood. I'm doing the project this weekend and will have my screen shots and notes at the ready to guide me.
Thank you, but what is the best/neatest way to cut slots in the metal rails of the garage door to accommodate these garage door locks? As my door was replaced in middle 2011 and has NO metal cutouts to install these slide locks. Any useful input is appreciated.
It's hard to see in video, but all of my hardware is mounted to just standard holes that you can drill with a drill bit. My rails are like 30-plus years old, and the slots did not line up either. I mounted everything to the door first, held the striker plate to the rail where it lined up with the latches, and marked & drilled holes where necessary. That makes them non-adjustable, but I haven't needed to make any adjustments thus far. Hope that helps you.
Unfortunately no. However you can just pull on the latch cables and release them from the striker plates. So it can be opened from the inside, even if it is locked.
@@Devaultfl Incorrect. you simply push the long bar to the left to release the door from the inside. It will pivot without rotating the locked handle from the outside. *The Key simple locks the square shaft handle to the outer assemble so the handle cannot be rotated.

@@kimberry8731 You are welcome.
@@Devaultfl I got it on. Finally
Great video. I needed to do much drilling as it's a 1960's wood door with zero extra holes in door or track. Your video helped my planning. Thank you
You're welcome. I wish you luck. It sounds like a cool project. Thanks for watching.

I probably did. But they work perfectly. Still going strong. Thanks for the insight. I will correct it if it ever becomes an issue.

Your welcome. Hopefully everything will go relatively easy for you. Good luck, and have a fantastic weekend.

Thank you for that information, and the very fast response, it is much appreciated. 👍
Great vid, thank you! Also, the comment about the cables is right, running them the way other way is way easier
Thank you, and thanks for watching
Awesome job!
Finally !!! I found a good video !!! Thank you~!
Your welcome. Glad it helped. Have a great day, and thanks for watching.
Can this work with an automatic door opener also?
Unfortunately no. It is manual only.
Can you unlock the door from the inside?
