Doesn’t work very good with UK bacon, too much fat. Works great with US style strips of bacon, UK bacon is more like a ham on steak cut into slices 😂 not much of a bacon flavour

White sliced bread + a little butter + fried bacon + ketchup = the simplest and best bacon sandwich
Same with me but unlike the people in the video I have untoasted bread and I add a poached egg. Also I like a medium amount of butter because weirdly tomato sauce and butter mix well

I think it was one additional? So like brown sauce/ketchup is a normal ingredient, and others got to add something else (like cream cheese). Maybe? Ha

The other contestant used butter to fry her bacon and the bread was fried in a bit of oil so ya
The bacon was cooked with maple syrup, like candied bacon which bacon cookery is not included in the extra ingredients as one girl cooked hers in butter, he said butter & oil and then maple syrup at the end (otherwise it will burn)

I always had unsmoked growing up, bought smoked myself when I was 18 and never looked back 😂
I also cook my bacon in the oven. If you haven't done it that I way, I highly recommend it. But it has to be thick cut bacon if you do it that way (at 400°F. Keep an eye on it until it's the crispiness that you want)

400°F for 10 min. I start checking it around 8 min. Some bacon is thicker than others, so keeping an eye on it is key. I like the oven because I don’t get splattered and I can cook other things while it’s baking.

The middle piece normally had the most filling. When doing a taste test, it's the best way to do it as you get every flavour
Someone introduced me to a bacon sandwich with sliced tomatoes and mayonnaise. It was nice.
Add some lettuce and it's a BLT...bacon, lettuce and tomato.

@@bobmiggins761 Nobody knows where the BLT originated. It is unknown before 1900 and didn't become popular until after WWII. Calling it a "BLT" most likely happened in American restaurants with waitresses shortening bacon, lettuce and tomato to BLT when calling in their order. Although tomatoes were available in Britain in the 1800's, they weren't common food and were associated with "exotic" Italian and Indian food.

My fancy bacon sandwich is toasted english muffin with two thick smoked rashers (fried) and a fried egg with ketchup. Otherwise just white bread, bacon and ketchup.

In the US (at least the southwest part), bacon egg and cheese with picante sauce is considered delicious. We use plain white bread, a biscuit (savory scone in the UK), and even a croissant.

my ultimate bacon sandwich is fried smoked streaky bacon in butter, granary bread or seeded, tinned tomatoes and brown sauce with a little pepper.... plus i add a splash of Worcestershire sauce in the tomatoes

here in new jersey and new york, we do breakfast sandwiches. bacon, egg, and american cheese on a roll or toast or bagel. popular seasonings to put on is salt, pepper, ketchup aka spk.
My Canadian version is a plain white bagel, peameal bacon slice, scrambled egg and my Dad adds HP sauce ❤

What is “brown sauce”?
It's basically a fruity, tangy, spiced British equivalent to BBQ sauce. The most common brand is HP, which if you're lucky you might find on the International food aisle at the supermarket.
It's like A1 steak sauce but better
This is the second time this week that I heard about brown sauce, I've got to try it. Ketchup and bacon seems weird, but your bacon is different to ours. I like bacon,tomato, mayo and pepper on whole wheat toast.
I just looked it up. Apparently, brown sauce is the Uk's version of A1 sauce and/or BBQ sauce.

Lovely soft yolk, pop it first with the barm lid and spread it about mixing with the ketchup.
Proper white bread (a fresh loaf, not a pre-cut brand), thinly-sliced and very lightly toasted (enough to turn it a little golden and give it a crunch only), butter on the toast when it's still hot so it melts, brown sauce spread over the butter, a layer of two slices crispy BACK bacon, a dollop of tomato sauce, and another layer of two slices crispy back bacon.
Alternatively, for those feeling really adventurous and outside the box - wholegrain bread, spread mayonnaise instead of butter, with a generous crisscrossing of mayo between the layers of bacon. Clearly won't be enjoyable if you dislike mayonnaise.

I asked for a bacon roll in my college cafeteria when I was in the US and it was unnecessarily difficult. First he replied ‘so bacon egg and cheese?’, I said no, just bacon, then he replied ‘oh right so just the bacon with the scrambled eggs?’. Eventually got it right and he looked so confused when he handed me a tray of bacon with a bread roll and some butter. I think they use their bacon mainly as a topping whereas ours is more meaty and can be a proper part of a meal
For the last 10 years I’ve been cooking my bacon in the oven. It’s comes out crispier for me than pan frying .

My personal favourite bacon sandwich is:
White or potato bread - toasted (whole wheat in a pinch)
Lightly buttered
Crispy bacon (smoked, streaky type) OR fried back bacon
Sliced, ripe tomatoes (they have to be ripe)
Mayonnaise (no salad cream or miracle whip)
A few drops of ketchup or brown sauce if you want.
Squishy white bread, crispy bacon and peanutbutter.
Make sure it's smooth peanutbutter and the bacon is very crisp and HOT so it melts the peanutbutter partially.
Out of curiosity does any other Brit just call them a “bacon on”

220°c is the ideal temperature setting to crisp up the fat without burning it and cook the meat nicely without drying it out.

You weirdos probably don't know how to cook it, you probably either cremate it until it's leather or undercook it so the fat is all flabby. Try grilling it at 220°c for a few minutes each side.

Fried bacon in oil and butter with a sprinkle of salt. Either brown or white bread. Fried tomatoes so theyre soft and like pop when you bite them. Cucumber cut up. And either ketchup/brown/bbq sauce. Its elite
One small addition to a Basic bacon sarnie will liven it up in a spectacular way, without changing the basics much. The bread (untoasted), crispy bacon, egg (scrambled or fries) all remain - BUT add a few slices of thin, fried tomato, and ditch the ketchup! Yum!
