good work again and stay safe
Hey, I love your channel, you've really helped me through some rough times, thank you. My best friend is also *A HUGE* FFVII fan, and wants me to ask you for him if you would like a full size "prop/collectible" of the Buster Sword. He also says he'll make whatever version you prefer, OG, OCC, or Remake. And if you call now, h------
...lol no seriously though. He's very ill, and tells me his only price is time, and I'll help him with shipping.
.........................you do live in either Americana or Canadia?
If you're familiar with The Spirits Within, you'd know where the omega weapon/chaos story came from and what it's leading to with Jenova/Minerva.
😊
Wow fun video... You make some of my FAVORITE stuff on the whole Internet, death.
Hey have you ever thought about the food in FF7? Where do they actually raise the beef for the Korean BBQ? Is it actually Chocobo meat??
It feels like the Mako cities are very fallout canned junk and dirty water
Ok I love how sephiroth isn’t just the primary villain but also the primary victim of the game
He seemed like a god guy before nibelheim
Excellent point ❤
He's my favourite good/ gone bad bad guy, and this is coming from someone who's favourite final fantasy is viii, viii had the love story I enjoyed but vii had the best villain
I think Sephiroth started to become manipulated by Jenova as soon as he was in proximity to her at Nibelheim. She can do this because her cells are in Sephiroth. Jenova can't communicate but has been described to exude pure hatred and she has the ability to manipulate emotions. She used his insecurities to drive him to research, go crazy, and destroy the town to "rescue" her so she could use Sephiroth's body to take over the world. That's why some of Sephiroth's decisions seem illogical, unthoughtful, or based on misinterpretations while in Nibelheim - Jenova is biasing his judgement and influenced him so a particular outcome would occur.
Isnt Jenova the one who manipualted the Cetra?
Nailed it
@@toasterglock8796 I can't remember where it is, but it is said that Jenova appeared to the Cetra as their fallen loved ones before corrupting them.
I've been sayin this for years! Finally seeing someone else thinking the same. Jenova is def pulling strings as early as the Nibelheim Reactor incident
I've been saying this same thing for a long time too, and it places Jenova back as the main driving antagonist instead of a simple Macguffin. The way I've been looking at it is, as long as you can retain a strong enough aspect of what you believe makes you, *yourself* , she can't claim you for her control and her influence is slim at best. Cloud with his repaired psyche and context for events at the end of the game, Genesis with his obsession for Loveless, Zack due to being a generally good and 'go with the flow' dude, and Lucretia with her guilt and trauma, are all examples of people that retained themselves. Sephiroth, Angeal, Hojo, Cloud *before* he and Tifa pieced his psyche together, and I guess by extension the Genesis copies, were all people who broke mentally or weren't strong enough to retain their sense of self due to some sort of psychosis. For those that fail to retain their identity, her influence is stronger and you run a higher risk of mutation.
My dude. That is some top shelf head canon with Jenova being a rogue Omega Weapon.
Don't let Nomura see that, LOL
except the omega weapon was created after Jenova was sealed away
@@tavastian3288Pretty sure he meant another planet's Omega.
I love the subtle detail that the planet put ALL those WEAPONS around the encapsulated sephiroth. like it knew they had to be there ready for when things went down. As soon as he summons meteor, they are like "its go time!"
Seph is such a tragic character, he was a victim too, damn that Joe Hojo!
Imagine having a great and successful life and throwing it away because you found out your origins were fucked up.
@@billythenarwhal1579 Which when you put it that way makes little sense and talk about over reaction, for a normal thinking human. But I am sure he was always a misanthropic megalomaniac with a god complex and learning of his past and figuring out how to wipe out humanity was just the excuse he needed to go over the edge. He started acting on his deepest thoughts instead of bottling them in.
@MaaZeus yeah but nothing about his character before that really lends to that tho.
@@billythenarwhal1579 Well, I never played the prequel and off shoot games so I only have the information mentioned in this video about those. But if he has a severe case of misanthropy it doesn't necessarily mean he does not care about individuals, people he consider his friends or family, but he just has a deep hatred for humanity as a group/species and thinks world would be better off without them. That said I still find his 180 from super soldier with dark thoughts to a mass murderer a bit of a stretch unless explained with other personality disorders and delusions on top of that.
@MaaZeus damn you missing out, imo FF7 does side stories wayyy better than main stories, for me Intermission and Crisis Core are way better than OG and remake.
There is some context to Sephiroth's height in the original game, beyond what was mentioned in the video. We see the photo that the man in Nibelheim took of Zack, Sephiroth and Tifa, and Sephiroth is very clearly taller than Zack and significantly taller than teenage Tifa. We're never given Zack's height in the original game of course, but in later materials it's been established as 6'1. But I think that even looking at the OG photo, Sephiroth very clearly gives off a vibe of someone who is taller than 6'1. He looks at least 6'4.
Every subsequent compilation release has either suggested or established Sephiroth's height as being much taller than 6'1 and somewhere between 6'4 and 6'7, so yeah I agree entirely with the video that the original 6'1 is almost certainly junk localisation. (In the PAL manual it's 185cm btw, which I think isn't even 6'1!)
Using the photo is a cool idea, sad I didn't think of that!
Love your theory of Jenova possibly being an Omega weapon from a dying planet that sought out different planets to sustain her life. I hope more of her origins are explained as the calamity in the sky in the next remake games, she's such an interesting antagonist.
Maybe we can oneday get far enough into the FFX timeline for Jenova to appear as the Omega Weapon in that world.
I hope it's not explained too much. The mystery makes it more interesting as we can fill in the blanks. I've always thought jenova was essentially the thing from the John carpenter movie.
Like Lavos from Chrono Trigger?
@@brianmckee2267 I don't get this. Can't you just not read extended universe content so you can have your mystery, but still let the rest of us have canonical answers? Why do you want to deprive us so you can deliberately remain ignorant?
@@neetpride5919 it's more engaging to not explain everything. See the Alien franchise for that.
Death, Hojo's first name is obviously Mojo. Mojo Hojo.
Must've been a fan of Powerpuff Girls as a kid.
SOLDIER candidates get infused with Mako, but Sephy got that dose of CHEMICAL-X.
Mojo Hojo...he's clearly an evil Jojo. His stand is One-Winged Angel.
I absolutely love your theory of Jenova being another Omega Weapon. Very intriguing!
Was said by someone else ages ago and that jenova was supposed to come from ffx because ff7 and ffx are linked
@@markmcdonald5681now that's an interesting theory.
The Omega of FFX took all the memories with it to another world which gave rise to the Shinra we know.
I think part of the reason Sephiroth looks bigger, is because he's trying to seem more imposing to Cloud's mind. He wants Cloud to remain his puppet. Even in the original game, when you have the flashback and see Sephiroth fight the Dragon in Nibelheim--I think it is shown that he is like a superhero, because Cloud saw him as one. It would reinforce the idea that he can't be beat, which would make Cloud doubt himself. After all, Cloud was able to defeat (albeit a wounded) Sephiroth at the reactor and he was pre-Mako pre-Jenova cells.
For the nibelheim flashback, we have to remember that this is not a direct retelling by Cloud a lot of the time. What happens inside of the reactor is essentially a memory transferred over to him by Zack and possibly edited by Jenova. Which is kind of a letdown given crisis core basically makes Genesis's exposition the trigger point to Sephiroth's villian arc.
Almost a whole hour of Sephiroth!!!
Geez auto correct never makes you look smart…
I feel ya
Yessss
That's very well made and 50min is a good minimum for that charactere.
Yes! Finally Sephiroth in depth is here. Love the name "Jenovaroth". 🤣
In depth characters I'd love to see:
1)Reeve
2)Vivi
3)Mega Man
I second those!
What about Jenoroth!
Sephirova. Actually scratch that, that makes him sound like a female tennis player 😜
Sephiva xd
Your omega weapon theory gave me chills, how it goes from 1 planet to another and "seeds" it. Very facinating.
Good work as always! Thank you!
My list:
1. Lucrecia
2. --- (i didn't play any other ff games:P)
3. 2B (Nier Automata)
Thanks!
The amount of detail they put into creating FF7 and having numerous subliminal meanings behind these characters, stories and even weapons, all of this in 1997 is absolutely incredible foreal 💯
I've always wondered, how much of the villain in FFVII is Sepiroth, and how much is Jenova. Was she manipuling him the whole time, or did he only use her power for his own ends. I'd like to think it's a bit of a twisted mutual relationship, but I'm also curious what other people think.
As for characters I'd like to see
1. Johnny, and all his Cut Content
2. Auron, always been my favorite FF character.
3. Master Chief, there is so much more to him the just a super soldier.
in the ultimania for ff7 its stated that sepiroth's will took control of jenova and jenova is simple minded - an animal that just exists to destroy and consume
Master Chief >>>>
Since Seph got spliced with Jenova in vitro, it's moot to try and separate them. I'd say, a more interesting question would be: does Sephiroth's human sympathy, prior to his miscarried epiphany at Nibelheim, show that he could have possibly sublimated Jenova's ravenous nature, had he not been lifelong deceived and exploited by Shinra?
It's made very clear that Sephiroth is behind everything. He was manipulating the robed figures with his will, and took control of them, and Jenova herself.
Me - "Idk..I'm already subscribed to SO many creators on here.."
"Maybe his name is Joe...Joe Hojo..."
Me - ..............*subscribes*
Thanks for the continued dedication to final fantasy 7.
1. Bugenhagen
2. Vivi
3. Solid snake
This was very interesting. However with the remake taken into account, i have the feeling that Jenovaroth is basically being controlled by Jenova in total. And that Sephiroth might have been freed from Jenovas influence after the last fight. Thus creating two different Sephiroths in the remake causing the wispers to go crazy and try to keep the story intact. I believe in the remake he wants to basically help the party in the end, fighting Jenovas Mind and save the planet, but Cloud refuses obviously. But thats just my theory :D
Sephiroth always was in control
The connection between Omega and Jenova has been somewhat telling, but the way you describe their connections and what it could mean is the most thorough and makes a lot of sense. Would love to hear more about this theory sometime!
I don't have a comprehensive list but would love to hear your take on Genesis and Weiss.
My head-canon is similar, just that Jenova is more like a parasitic version to spread life while Omega Weapon is more like an escape pod. I imagine she isn't an entire planet's lifestream, but that her original planet created several "siblings" to Jenova meant to spread and hijack other already existing lifeforms/lifestream on other planets.

Sephiroth as a character is a permanent landmark in gaming history and the masterful one winged angel theme just stands the test of time, Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. Below are my suggestion's for next in-depth.
1. Hojo
2. Cloud's father
3. Chocobo Joe
It struck me that, given how "infectious" Sephiroth's cells are--that they're probably not Sephiroth cells. They're probably all Jenova.
Given that Sephiroth was born with Jenova Cells, and he only went mad when in proximity of her, there's a chance that we've never actually faced Sephiroth at all. Its been Jenova the entire time, using Sephiroth's form as its local avatar--a bit like the Angels of Evanagelion. We're looking at Jenova reborn as Sephiroth; and the original is probably subsumed or dead.
Given that Sephiroth himself would have been born of the LIfe stream on this particular planet, would've given Jenovah access to the Life Stream and its Knowledge here.
All ultimately fulling its purpose as the Calamity. Hence that, no matter what "new" idea this Sephiroth has, it still only ever fulfills the original purpose / plan of Jenova.
Awesome video as always
1.Lucrecia
2.Yuna
3.Vergil(DMC)
Death, please do an analysis on Jecht, I really think he is probably one of the most complex characters in the Final Fantasy series. Not only from a traditional hero/villain perspective but also from a very human perspective, being a father who has a hard time showing affection and care. Btw, I love this series man, keep it up, probably one of my favorites to watch out of your videos. Keep it up man.
Great episode, I really love these.
1) Hojo ( the real villain of FF7)
2) Ramza (FF Tactics)
3) Crono (Chrono Trigger)
Awesome video! I especially liked the Side note and Omega Weapon part. All this was new to me and I agree this makes for an interesting theory! As for characters, here are my picks:
1.The Chocobo Sage if there's even enough information. Otherwise, Rude would be my pick.
2.Rinoa
3.Kratos
Looking forward to the next one!
He's a purple dude that sells chocobo stuff.
Thanks for watching this in-depth look I''ll see you in the next one.
@@4-8Productions i was also gonna say chocobo sage at first but then i realized square never gave us much to work with.
Kratos is such a good choice 👍
I'd put Bugenhagen over him but I think it's a good choice too (sans us lacking info)
I've always wondered what Sephiroth's general reaction would've been if he had learned of his true origin and that he was the son of Hojo and Lucrecia. I feel like he would've refused to join Cloud's team and would say he had gone too far to turn back, but he would've had various interactions with Vincent about his real mother.
Great vid, awesome stuff! :D
Bizarro Sephiroth (as a fight) fascinated me early on. I remember figuring this fight out by myself as a kid (welp, teenager). Totally agree with everything you said about the fight, it's counterintuitive. Most annoying imo is the long idle animation, which slows it down considerably.
Biz-Seph's AI is one of the more complicated ones, and use a huge amount of space compared to other encounters.
Another fantastic In-depth. It really shows how much care, passion & research goes into these videos. For the upcoming projects here are my picks/suggestions:
1: Zack Fair
2: Yuna
3: Solid Snake
Finally, the lyrics and it's translation of Heartless Angel. Amazing to have read that!
FF7 Character: Turks!
FF Character: Lightning from FF13
General Character: I dont know if there is much to find but Crash Bandicoot?
What if when sephiroth rejoined the lifestream part of sephiroth was assimilated? Just the humanity he held, that empathy for his friends, the bits of him that we see prior that cause him to come off well like asking cloud about being home? The lifestream reassimilated those bits of him, leaving behind only those parts created and based on jenova. Would explain what he becomes and why we never see any sort of humanity from him again after that and why he becomes dominated only by desires to fulfill jenovas will. As always thank you so much for the great content and inspiring fun thoughts about my favorite piece of media ever created.
yes the in-depth series returns! thanks for all the great content!
I really love the theory that Jenova is basically a weapon, makes a lot of sense. Much like animals evolve differently, it would make sense that other planet’s lifestreams might similarly adapt to appear in a different way.
Your video sparked a theory in my brain(maybe someone els thought of this too), sephiroth slaughter at nibelheim is unjust- but still logical. But him changing his way of talk and everything still came off weird after he died in the lifestream. What if- he had a human part from Lucretzia and hojo, but when he died this part of him was absorbed to the lifestream and whatever left is the jenova genes.like in nibelheim he still had his very human emotions intact. Whenever we see him after that- he seems- different.
I love the funny jokes and informed theories of yours, especially when you bridge the gaps among the various sources we had over the life of the series. Great job!
Well, you're already gonna do my boy Cloud so I guess in depth wise I'd like to see, Good il Joe Hojo, The Emperor of Palemecia and Dart Feld from the Legend of Dragoon
Superb analysis as always 4-8, really enjoyed this video. As requested, here's the list of characters I'd like you to cover based on the criteria you provided at the end of your video:
1.) FF7 Character: Angeal
2.) Any FF Character: Garland from FF9
3.) Any Video Game Character: Raiden from MGR:R
1. Zack (or Hojo)
2. Cecil Harvey (FF4)
3. Frog (Chrono Trigger)
I love this series, it's good for the background just to have one when things get quiet.
Also :
1:Budenhagen (if I am spelling that right)
2: an in-depth look of Quistis
And for anything... An In-depth look of Mahbu from the jade cocoon series.
1. Zack Fair
2. Noctis Lucis Caelum
3. Yuna
Also love your in-depth videos!!
Fucking awesome!!! Please don't let us wait for the Cloud video though bro bro!! Please don't make us wait long!! Thanks again for the content man!
In-Depth-iroth
This was great! I haven't engaged much with the compilation, so seeing the added texture that was added by other titles was nice.
My list:
Lucretia (her story is extremely fractured in vanilla VII so I'd like to see a full breakdown)
Lightning (I'm wont to gain an understanding of that game but far too lazy to research it myself)
Sydney Losstarot (loooove me some Vagrant Story and just want to give it exposure, and Sydney is f****** awesome)
I dig and agree with your theory, that Jenova is something akin to another Omega / Chaos lifestream system.
I played all of Dirge of Cerberus and completely forgot what the purpose of Omega Weapon was 🤦♂Love the theory about Jenova being another Omega Weapon though. Great video!
1. Zack Fair
2. Vivi Ornitier
3. Roxas from Kingdom Hearts
Love the video, wish we got them more often.
1. Tseng
2. Bartz klauser ff5
3. Zagreus from Hades
Oh man.
1) Jesse
2) Agrias Oaks
3) Illidan Stormrage.
You did an awesome job, I loved this in depth look.
First video of yours I've come by as I haven't searched ff related things in awhile - this is expertly put together and extremely detailed. Subbed
Jenovaroth explained so much! :O Amazing video!
“We have look at every playable character in Final Fantasy 7..except one. “
Cloud: Am I a joke to you ?? 😂
Really cool theory dude about Jenova being an Omega Weapon from another planet, I also like the theory that Yunalesca might be Jenova in a sense, but that would be a topic for another day...
Anyway dude, here's the characters i'd like to see get an in depth video:
1. Rude
2. Cid of the Lufaine
3. Marle
1. Don Corneo
2. Basch (VAN RONSENBURG!!!) or Ultros
3. Dronia (Labyrinth of Refrain)
Great Vid on Sephiroth! Loved the series so far and I'm excited how Clouds and Zacks in-depth looks will turn out! Keep up the great work!
Amazing video! Love your work!
Here's my list for you.
1) Bugenhafen
2) Laguna Loire
3) Knuckles the Echidna
WOW what a wealth of information! Loved this, as well as the rest of the in-depth vids! Look forward to this project as a whole and what is to come!
1) Hojo
2) Tidus
3) Agent 47
In depth characters I'd love to see:
1) Johnny
2) Delita from FF Tactics
3) Rose from The legend of Dragoon
excellent vid on the master of disaster.
1. Jenova
2. Ultimecia
3. M.Bison
I really love your in depth series, and I absolutely loved this one.
1. Zack
2. Rinoa
3. Camus (Fire Emblem)
Another brilliant watch! Amazing how much history the characters of this game have.
1) Bugenhagen
2) Lightning
3) Solid Snake
Always loved the crazy amount of detail your in-depth videos have. I'm really glad to hear you wanna branch out and cover other characters in and out of the FF franchise. Most definitely looking forward to those.
Now for the characters I'd love to see you cover:
1) Cissnei. Since CC Reunion is still somewhat fresh in our minds and probably only very few of us played Before Crisis, she's still very mysterious and coverage on her would be awesome.
2) Squall. As brooding as he is, I would love to see an in-depth on him and his connection to Laguna. It's heavily hinted they are father and son but nobody brings it up! Even Ward and Kiros pretty much say it on the Ragnarok but it's never addressed in-game and it's always driven me crazy.
3) Jak (from Jak and Daxter). I'd love to see an in-depth on him and Daxter in the future. It's a great franchise that deserves a little more attention.
Anywho, love the vids Death 👍
Love the video series. Been a fan and watched them all as they dropped. Keep up awesome work.
1. Zack..... obviously
2. Cid through entire FF Series
3. Dracula from Castlevania
good picks
Good stuff. That was a great explanation of Sephiroth’s character and motivations. Also, cool to hear you’re not only continuing, but expanding the in-depth look series.
1) Don Corneo
2) Kuja
3) Lavitz
I think a deep dive into Jenova the calamity herself would be pretty rad.
Vivi(maybe Kuja. Love Vivi though. Scrue it, both) from FF9 would be awesome.
Kain from the legacy of kain series(or any boss from MGS2/1)
Awesome video death.
1. Rufus Shinra
2. Riona
3. Fei Fong Wong (Xenogears)
that omega weapon theory is incredible! Would love a full video talking about that. Super interesting theory
In my own head cannon I imagine the SOLDIER project did very much exist pre-sephiroth as a way to create supersoldiers, but the revelations of what you could do with Mako and the discovery and utilization of Jenova leading to Sephiroth caused Shinra to re-evaluate the processes they used before. Sephiroth is the first conventional true SOLDIER created with these new methods, prior Soldiers all being inferior specimens. The project reinvented itself, so to speak.
Also today I learned, after being a huge fan of Theatrhythm Curtain Call, and currently Final Bar Line, that there's a Kingdom Heart's Rhythm game.
Just realised that the first of these videos, for Vincent, was over 8 years ago. Holy crap I've been following this channel for a while, good to see your dedication!
1: Reeve
2: Auron (FFX)
3: Sol Badguy
Awesome in depth look to sephiroth. Another one Id be interestin to see is hojo. (The root an cause of it all mostly) his experiments an messed up ideologies that mostly cause everything to happen. To show that sometimes science can get to out of hand in the hopes of progression.
Great video as always! I can't wait to see more of these since they're always extremely informative and well crafted!
As for the in-depth look, i'd say:
1. Zack
2. Zidane
3. Kratos from Tales of Symphonia
Another fantastic video. This made me understand one of my favorite characters even more. Kudos my man.
1. Zack! Or Shera. Poor girl just gets yelled at all the time!
3. Alis Landale from Phantasy Star! That's a deep cut but would love to see it
1. Jessy
2. Fran
3. Solid Snake
Thanks! Youre a great content creator!
This was an awesome in depth video into sephirith as a whole. He is one of my favorite all time clouded game characters and I enjoyed every minute of this video keep them coming.
My list for next in depth video goes like this:
1. Rufus
2. Rinoa (FFXIII)
3. Melbu Frama (Legend of Dragoon)
Wow, great video. Amazing how I continue learning new things about FF7 26 years after release.
1. Rufus
2. Steiner
3. Vergil (from Devil May Cry)
Great video! FF7 is my all time fave but I still learned a few things.
1. Tseng
2. Edea (FF8) - she is crucial to the plot and is a very tragic, interesting character
3. Aya Brea (Parasite Eve) - I just finished reading the novel and it rekindled my interest in the games
I especially love the lore surrounding Jenova and the research done by Gast and his successors, so I think that would make for a great video.
I voted for Seifer from FF8 for much the same reason...
@@seancondon5572 oh yeah I’d like to see a video about Seifer too
Great in depth!
1. Zack
2. Lightening or Squall (I can't choose)
3. Serge (Chrono Cross)
Absolutely loved the video my man - great work on yet another fantastic in-depth. The omega theory actually fits the puzzle perfectly and hope that was the intention and not just an oversight from the team. Also I never realised he never used Fire 3 even knowing its there equipped.
Now for the list:
1) Hojo (/gast ) - their history which potentially sets up FFVII would be a great insight for the fans
2) Yuna - did you expect me to say anyone else? - they need to hear why she is one of the best developed characters in the franchise
3) Xehanort - Even though I have yet to reach the end of KH he is for sure one of the most interesting characters with different iterations etc.
Great video! I've found you since Remake, thank you so much for providing much-needed escape from the worries of our world. It's nice to see such love and enthusiasm for this game and I dig how you converse with the community. My picks:
1. (since Zack & the Turks are surely coming, right?) Lifestream.
2. Edgar & Sabin. Their flashback with the Coin Toss music always gets me.
3. Gonna have to go with Kratos.
What an amazing video. I am a huge Sephiroth fanboy and this even surprised me on how in depth it went and even explained a few things I wondered on for a while regarding the character. Absolutely loved it, keep up the great work!
As for other characters to go over,
1. Rufus Shinra. Love this dudes design and overall aura
2. Steiner. Great FF9 character.
3. There’s… A lot I would wanna see lmao. But Vergil is my top choice, and him Sephiroth and other characters in fiction are why I love the trope of “badass powerful sword wielder”
I really like that theory of Jenova being on Omega Weapon, really though if you look at it that way then Jenova is no more evil than the next I mean she is only doing exactly what I'm sure Omega Weapon would do once it found a new planet, it would attempt to assimilate all life on that planet as per its intended design to carry all life essence from one planet to the next
Love this. I cannot believe almost every playable character is near finished.
1: I really really wanna hear an in depth on The Turks. Especially Rude
2: Zidane from Final Fantasy 9
3: The Doom Slayer from Doom.
Joe Hojo. 😂😂😂
These in-depths are great! Characters to check out:
1) Reeve (DoC)
2) Steiner ff9
3) Samus Aran
Ohh. Samus? That's a good one. Metroid actually has a LOT of story outside the games.
Great video, man! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
1. A tie between Jessie and Johnny (the guy you keep coming across as you go through the VII storyline)
2. Ramza Beoulve from Final Fantasy Tactics
3. Jade from Mortal Kombat
Your In-depth series is always enjoyable to watch!
I rather love your in depth series on these characters - please keep it going!
1. Shinra Inc. (explanation below)
2. Zidane from ff9
3. Mega Man X
A history of Midgar and Shinra inc. would be pretty rad - the original final fantasy 7 paints a somewhat different picture of midgar and their technology than crisis core depicts, likely due to the technological progress that happened in our world in the time frame between the release of the games but what I've always wondered about is shinra's history - it seems like this empire must have been in the works for literally hundreds of years to get to the point that it has by the time we reach the year 7 at the beginning of ff7. We see a scene in the remake while in the shinra building that depicts them building the plate basically from the ground up but that couldn't have been accomplished in a 20 year time frame and it seems like there's a ton of middle ground in between no plate and no reactors and no midgar as we know it to shinra being up on top of the plate, creating all kinds of specialty materia, and building reactors literally the world over.
Seems like there's a giant blind-spot somewhere between how shinra started as small arms manufacturing to becoming the world's sole energy-producing superpower and I think diving into that might be pretty cool..or we could just find gaps in the lore of the story, I dunno - do with it as you will, sir.
A lot of insanity in this state right now - the train derailments in EP alone, and the subsequent uncontrolled chemical burn of a million pounds of petrochemicals into our atmosphere at the behest of Norfolk Southern and black rock, are HUGELY reminiscent of shinra inc and the way they run their world - some interesting parallels to be drawn there, for sure.
@@steak9194 mega man X good choice man I’d vote for that!
1. Johnny That lad had an adventure all on his own.
2. Fujin FF8
3. Claire Redfield
Great video man!
1. Rufus
2. Kuja
3. Dante from The Devil May Cry Series
In depth characters I'd love to see in this section
It's good to know that they do actually say the word Sephiroth in the one winged angel theme. I always hoped they did as a kid but also knew it could well be some random Latin word. Brilliant video!
You've been making the best final fantasy content for years Nice to see you're still at it and you're still the best at it.
I truly appreciate your use of "your guys's" when you enlisted our help. So many people would have said "you guys," or "you guys's," and even I would be guilty of this on occasion. I'm no English teacher, so I'm not 100% sure it's correct, but when you break it down, it is logically the correct choice of words. This is probably one of the nerdiest comments in a comment section full of nerdy and geeky comments, but as an immigrant kid starting school in Australia, in 1990/91 where there were probably only a handful of kids from non-English speaking backgrounds, English and language were drilled into me. My primary(elementary) school focused on the English and language skills of the 3 or 4 foreign students that my English and my literacy became so much better than native English speakers, so I really appreciate the small moments when it is used correctly with finese.
1 - Reno
2 - Leslie (i´m going to keep in ff7 since it's the only one I´ve played yet)
3 - Edward Kenway (Assassin's Creed Black Flag)
Great video btw, realy enjoyed it
Sephiroth was half human still, so when he went through the river it absobed its human part and Genova took back control posing as Sephiroth.
Great video! Very good analysis, I dig the Omega Weapon theory.
As for characters I'd like to see in-depths for, uhhh honestly any characters would be good, but to pick a few random ones that other people probably haven't mentioned:
1) Bugenhagen
2) Celes from FF6
3) I dunno, Madeline?
1) He old.
2) She sing.
3) She fast.
@@4-8Productions I mean I can't argue with that
Excellent in depth!
1. Tseng
2. Noctis FF15 (no seriously, I need it)
3. Laura Croft
Awesome Video! Here are the characters I would want to see:
1. Professor Joe Hojo
2. Rydia, Caller of Mist
3. Ganondorf, King of Thieves
Jenova-Omega theory sounds very plausible. This concept was explored both in Spirits Within (literally this - alien planet gaia) and FF9 with Gaia and Terra merger.
I’m so glad these videos exist! Love the channel!
10:30 I have a feeling that his personality changed because he has a psychotic break at Nibbleheim and he's no longer sane. His goals and world view seem to change constantly now so I don't think his mind is all that coherent anymore.
#1 - Genesis. Of all the FF7 characters, he's the most mysterious (haven't played Dirge of Cerberus).
#2 - Yu Yevon (FFX). What info we got on him through FFX was just too minimal (haven't played all the way through FFX-2).
#3 - Albedo Piazzola (Xenosaga series). One of the most interesting antagonists I've ever seen. The dude's a unhinged psychopath most of the time but as you progress through the series, you come to understand why he is that way & learned that he isn't too far gone or irredeemable. Compared to antagonists like Sephiroth or Kefka, he's underrated & deserves some attention.
