I like the pick... i would've gone with Parekh, but this seems safer.. a talented big body with a mean streak and offensive upside with that big shot is something this team needs badly on the right side.
Its finally a breath of fresh air to see Ottawa going big and mean on the backend.
I could not agree more. It’s EXACTLY what we need.
yess....and boy did they ever again in day 2...they are building team nasty
Great interview. I think that's what we get with this pick, a very high ceiling, one that might be higher than some of the other top end D.
He gets compared to Shea Weber and Brent burns, I totally see it. Like if his biggest issue is the defensive game, that can be taught but from a raw potential he looks incredible.
Seems like a good pick. I like that he has a lot of grit and size, which the Sens desperately need.
Doing great Steve. The change of regime has been so refreshing this past year
Good pick on defence, a big guy who can clean people out of the crease and has good offensive ability.
Thank the hockey gods we got a RD
Mendes is like a five year old with the questions.. I love it
Looks good to me. I've got confidence in Ottawa scouts and upper staff have the intelligence to pick what we need. Good job guys.
You mean the dumpster fire is burning brighter then ever sens will be golfing again in the spring
@@Hulkster991why are you here?
@@retrogeko7955because this team needs fixing badly and I'm hoping a trade or free agent signing might help, so far nothing accept a goalie rental when we're now even in the playoffs you usually trade for rentals at the deadline

“ we don’t draft strictly on position” yes you did buddy
one pick being at a position of need is not necessarily evidence they generally draft strictly by position of need
drafting organizational needs is dumb. this guy is 4 to 5 years away and our team needs will be different when he is ready. I do like the player though.
We need LW
Is Steve Staios Asian? He looks like he has some in his gene.
ottawa won the draft
