- HIMARS, produced by Lockheed Martin, stands for High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. Offering Multiple Launch Rocket System firepower on a wheeled chassis, the HIMARS is the newest member of the MLRS launcher family. HIMARS carries a single six-pack of GMLRS rockets or one TACMS missile on the Army's Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) 5-ton truck, and can launch the entire MLRS family of munitions.

I'm a U.S. Marine Artilleryman, this replaced my entire Battery on the East coast . Everyone even said this truck isn't as good as they say it is. And years before this was more popular I even stared and studied my own MOS replacement

There is one thing I want to tell. Himars is constructed in Norway initially with the name Nimars. After a while it is called Himars. It is produced in US based in agreement.

I remember seeing this as it happened. Once Himars were in play russia slow down so much because it scared the leadership behind the line and knew they werent safe so they had to move everything out of Range 😂😂❤🇺🇦🇺🇸

Ukraine held out against superior firepower and numbers, through better training and inventiveness for almost a year...

Had a good laugh at that when I saw it
on accuracy it kind of helps that they are at least few a3 sentry’s awacs lurking around forwarding accurate real time data to the ukraines. without it they would be firing in the dark like any other artillery system no better or worse.
RC 135 Rivet Joint is the targeting platform for ground targets. As far as I know, AWACS is designed to counter air threats.

M142 is not powerful as well as M270. M142 can move fast rather than M270. M142 can shoot only 227mm 6 missiles but M270 can shoot 12 missiles.
Very true. M142 is light and can move in and out fast. Yes, the M270 can do more damage and Ukraine do have some.

Combat proven. Gave russian serious trouble in Ukraine War. So far, no Himars battery ever detected or destroy by russian. Now american approved the longer range version missile for Ukrainians army. That's above 80km ranges.

Another couple years of war and perhaps the US and EU will begin to understand why they were asking for long range missiles and fighter jets.
This war thoroughly shows the nastiness, INCOMPETENCE and small mindedness of the western allies of Ukraine.
All the stuff the US has sent to Ukraine was headed to the smelter anyways. This way the US gets top dollar instead of scrap metal pricing. Hope this enrages you more. If this continues Putin may just throw himself out of a window.

Most himars missiles are shot down due to tge flight profile. Taking into account the cost per projectile.....
A HIMARS rocket costs around 150k per rocket. Meanwhile, an S300/400 missile that the Russians are using costs more than 2 million per missile. Moreover, air-defence missiles are far more sophisticated technologically and can't be replaced as easily.
So even if Russia shoots down every HIMARS rocket, Ukraine would come out on top because they depleted Russia's sophisticated missiles.
@@raider968 who says they're wasting s300 or s400 missiles on himars? You use shortrange missiles, which often don't even have on-board homing....meaning cheap.
Former MLRS/HIMARS gunner... Whenever had our shot down, I have 200+ launches.

And regardless of your experience, unless you are in Ukraine, which is the only conflict the himars has seen proper use, and the only one against a competent foe, then your shots meant nothing.
