Steps:
00:05 Remove SIM card holder
00:30 Power off the phone.
00:52 Start to heat and tear down the back cover.
04:38 Tear down the back housing frame.
09:04 Remove the rear facing camera.
09:34 Remove the battery.
10:17 Remove the loudspeaker with two logic boards.
11:04 Remove the mother board.
13:48 Tear down the front camera.
15:20 Remove the earpiece.
17:00 Separate the LCD screen from mid frame.
24:35 Teardown the earphone jack with the sensor cable.
27:00 Remove the RF cable.

Chile Lindo What I meant was that the phone is designed by Japanese and parts are made by Japanese. It was only assembled in China by the instructions given by Sony.

Please please please i have a very big probleme with my sony xperia z1 and i think you are the only one hwo can help me, please i relly need your answer,so my probleme is that in my z1 i lost the ring around the jack port, the litle metalic ring from pulling out my headphones one time before and now im really woread, will it still be water resistant ? It was before..and will it be replacable ? Its just the little metalic ring on the top nothing else is broken and can i find it eny wair ? The headfones still work. ( i am terribly sorry for my writing am french so :( please help me man i m waiting for your answer and thank you a looot !)

the size of the motherboard is truly remarkable. this thing packs the same punch as a mid-tier laptop.
any idea how you replace the wifi chip or whatever? I dropped my xperia a few weeks ago while I was out and when I got home I noticed how significantly the wifi was fucked up, like I can be next to the router now and only have one bar.

I don't know why, but the battery in my phone was glued to the back cover. It snapped the flex connection when I was trying to remove the back cover and stayed attached. I managed to remove it, but I don't know if it dammaged the connection when it snapped off
Hey, I thought maybe you could help me out. I recently replaced the digitizer on my Z1. i did everything according to many guide videos on youtube. After the replacement the LCD works perfeclt, but the phone is not charging when I plug the micro USB cable, and alco the main camera is not working. Before the replacement everything was fine. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
My Z1 is stuck on safe mode, because the volume down button is not working.. If a want to fix it, with a new main flex cable, i must to remove the motherboard, and buy everything?

Hi, I want to open my Sony Xperia Z1 because the phone has an issue with the vibrator. I mean every 1 time of 4 it vibrate with a weird sound, like there is a false contact. Also when I shake the phone i can easily hear a piece detached and bouncing inside. Do you have any suggestions to my problem? Thanks.

Hi few days ago my phone heted up (70%) and when i looked at it the battery became 8% i put it in contact with water the flaps were 100% off but i let it to cool down. When i connected my charger the battery wasnt charging. I turned my phone off. The phone started to charge but suddenly it just booted it self up but the phone stopped charging.when the battery reached 0% as phone shut down and the led indicator was a solid red after few hours i tried to boot it up the phone didnt respond(no vibration) and the red led was still solid. I looked at the lens i found some moisture so i put the phone in rice for 24h the moisture is now gone but the phone doesn't respond some people said i must let it for 24h away from charger then i charge it.is that true or should i do this massacre (no offense) a d put the phone in rice for 3days?

I have xperia z1 but have some problem with it. The simcard are detected but there is no service. I hv tried the sim into another phone, it was just fine. Only with the xperia z1. There is no network. But the phone said that the sim are inserted. Only the service @ network not appear.. is can separate lcd display of the touch screen? Please I need know because the lcd display did not suffer damage. but the touch screen is broken
The display is made up of multiple parts, most have the LCD, the digitizer/covering. So it's possible to separate the touch screen from LCD screen. As for Sony Xperia Z1, it's waterproof function makes this hard. It's likely to break the LCD screen when you remove the touch screen.

Łukasz Skoczylas its the screen little lift up...change the adhesive of screen panel.....there some thermal pad there that allow the heat from cpu to the screen metal back panel.

haileab Amanuel Are you sure the card you replace is good? If it can't read all sim card, you should replace the SIM card flex.

vetrecaGOD It is not impossible to replace them seperately by yourself. Maybe you should ask the local cell phone repair shop for help.

this video helped me a lot! Thx! Subbed you. I already repaired some devices thanks to your video dis/assemblies. So I´m a bit experienced and it wasnt really hard to dis/assmble this phone.
My Z1 has been damaged by water and coudlnt start anymore. So I put the logicboard into Isopropyl alcohol (100%). After two days i assembled it back again, it even started but the touchscreen doesn´t response anymore. I´ve already checked the digitizers flex cable. They seem fine.
What could be the reason? Is the digitzer broken, or could it be caused by the logicboard?
An advice would be very nice. The phone even worked after i´ve left diving for half an hour. It´s very odd.

Send it to Sony first. It is very hard to replace the mid frame by an amateur.
My z1s got dumped In clean water for like 4 mins I made sure I wiped it good, now when I open the camera it's force closes itself, sometimes the screen goes pink/glitches then goes blank. Please help

Wimdel81 You need to tear down the back cover and back housing before replacing the motor. The back cover and back housing are fixed by strong glue. It is hard to disassemble them.

My Z1 is broken from the sim card slot, it happened when somebody tried to insert a nano sim adapter in the wrong way by forcing it. My question is, can it be replaced or is it soldered to the motherboard?

Ahmad Saqer You can DIY replace the phone with all the original replacement parts, but it may not be waterproof absoultely anymore. You'd better have the device repaired at the Sony service to ensure its total waterproofing.

You don't have to heat anything up in this phone. Slimply slide the guitar pick is good enough. (0.6mm thick) My fav. phone to repair.
the LED notification hole,it`s a dust trap,it is so DAMN difficult to clean,I tried cleaning it with a toothpick but it broke and a piece of it got stuck in there too,I searched online and found some talk about how using something rough can break it`s water proofing,you`ve got any ideas and info regarding the matter?

Faris AlMiqdad Don't poke the LED or it will not waterproof. It is glued to the LCD supporting frame. If the LED gets loose, the water will damage the motherboard directly. Just try to pick it up by a needle.

So i have a Z2, and the metal ring aroung the jack just popped off. does this effect that the jack is waterproof? I'm not sure since I read all these comments about it's just part of the design.

With the green LCD Screen flex cable is from Sony manufactor , the yellow one is from Sharp.

Mohmaed Zain It seems the phone had short-circuited. It is hard to say which part is broken, the motherboard, screen or battery. So we recommend that send it to repair store for test.

hi, dear Bergmann, the back cover has adhesive sticker, u don't need any glue, if u ordered our OEM Back Cover Assembly: www.witrigs.com/oem-back-cover-assembly-for-sony-xperia-z1-white , there are four parts are included on it: the anti shatter film, the battery cover adhesive sticker, the NFC and the camera lens on this back cover..
how did your repair go?
Oh, everything went well. I used a hairdryer to heat the cover up, removed it carefully and glued the new one on the back. It was much easier than I thought :)
