This is such a great technique. It almost reminds me of the sprint canoe where the hips are moving forward before the exit to generate that last little bit of push and also to not break the forward run of the board or boat. I’ve been working on this portion specifically in the last couple of weeks and I’ve noticed that I’m actually averaging a higher speed with less effort. Great stuff Larry. Thanks.
these are best series available on youtube. i've looked through everything. wish you'd continued with other drills and etc. nothing on the net is even remotely as good.
All excellent videos thank you. I especially like it when you do the actual stroke slowly first so I can see the detail. It would also be great if you could talk more about hand placement, arm position and the return after the exit. Thanks again
exactly, right before exit you should in deed almost kick your hip back to it's natural position.. the same in a sprint canoe. That gives a little more push forward for the boat and also another very important benefit is that when your hips are aligned back and your back is straight you have no balance problems when you move your paddle forward in air.

so once you have rotated the hip back in the middle of the stroke, now you rotate it front to start a new one stroke....?
