I actually thought on that second one that she was going to find out that her mother kidnapped her and her brother. The story made sense until it didn't. That's hard to believe that that they were both delusional. But then again it's possible because just like with women who are abused, people enlisted in the services, serial killers, true narcissists and people like that can be so manipulative that eventually the person/people start to believe what's being said. When you're in a very vulnerable mind state, it's very easy for people like that to manipulate. So maybe it's possible.

I don't know if the syndrome makes it so someone can't break out of the delusion but if he can or was aware that's messed up how he can be so selfish and make it so these kids had to pick up their lives for no good reason.
