- Can we save our 100 year old Parisian Greenhouse. Tucked away in the walled garden of this stunning Chateau, is a very large and very old glasshouse After years of neglect this greenhouse has started to rust away to nothing. As the restoration begins, we find out what can be done to bring it back to its former glory.

Michael!!! The nurse in me is screaming at my screen “Where are your protective glasses” ? If a sliver of rusted iron ever got into you eye, you’d end up with a corneal abrasion or worse, threaten your eyesight. That would be a pickle of a situation for an artist like you! Take the few extra minutes to use safety precautions like protective glasses, or gloves & an I-95 face mask if products have a TOXIC label. Always err on the side of caution when doing tasks that could cause bodily harm. O.K. Rant over, carry on! ❤️. Your cottage flower garden looks GREAT by the way.

What about a rain barrel (a la Hartley Botanic) on one end, painted a copper colour to complement the green, or even a copper rainwater chain ?

I adore that you are saving the greenhouse and giving it the love it deserves. I think the color you using to paint will look lovely once you get finished and with plants in, much better than boring white or black. Also, your inner artist peeked out when you were describing the smell of the rust inhibitor...not many would appreciate linseed oil and turpentine lol.

Micheal, Wear safety glasses when using the grinder!!! My husband had a bit of the grinder wire break off and go into his eye. I mean it put a hole in his eye! He was very lucky that it didn’t puncture closer to his pupil and a cataract lens replacement saved his eye and his vision.

Oh, Michael, you and Billy are so amazing!! Billy came in and started uncovering the floor in the convent, then you just jump right in and updating the greenhouse and removing huge plants to a pot!! You are both special and I love how you just get going with a project. Your parents taught you well. The garden is just beautiful and I am a bit jealous because I can’t do gardening anymore. Bad back, bad knees and too old. How I miss playing in the dirt (better known as my way of gardening).

Everything is coming along beautifully, you’ve more patience than me, that rooster would have been in the oven before the day was out. Please, do wear a mask and goggles when you’re using the grinder. Eyes and lungs are great assets in life, and you have a long time on this earth, God willing.

As a crazy garden lady I’ve been waiting for this video from the first moment I laid eyes on that amazing greenhouse!!! Please please tell me you’re doing a follow up video so we can see the final result!!
Should we tell him that when transplanting or moving a plant, you want to prep the location first that it gets moved to, preserve a root ball of plenty of soil around the roots so as not to shock them, and after transplanting to water immediately, and put it in a cool, dark place and keep out of direct sun right afterwards for the rest of the day....all to minimize shocking the plant and giving it a better chance of surviving and not losing all it's leaves if it does survive.

I was nervous when you were using the drill to take the rust off . Where are your safety glasses ? Be careful with that wire brush little pieces break off. Love your flower bed and the door entrance of the house is so picturesque I love it !! ❤

Since the start of the channel, I've hoped one day to see the greenhouse restored. I am so happy, and surely you will be with the gorgeous view from your cottage!
I so love what I call, "antique flower gardens", just because I remember gardens like yours when I was a child in the 50's and 60's here in Portland Oregon. Rarely do I see these flowers in gardens. So, so, love your garden. One other flower I love to see is "bleeding heart", so very pretty.
I have seen hollyhocks grow in a crack of tarmac, so I hope it will survive the move. The garden looks lovely, and it will be so nice with the green house finished!

Now that you've achieved the written part of having a licence, ask the best driver at the chateau be that your Mum, Sadie ... and after you've learnt the basics - take it next level and pay for a driving instructor. The extra knowledge and confidence will astound you and well worth your money. Be the best driver in the family because everything you SET yourself, you do very well. The cottage and surrounds are charming.

There is actually a new and quite incredible rust removing technology. Laser rust removal, very non destructive, but the big hindrance is cost.
You and your brother looks just like twins! You are so clever to remember all the lovely plant names. That cottage flower boarder looks lovely this year, so will be amazing next. One job always leads to another, with having to remove the hollyhock, because it would get damaged by the pressure washer! So good that you are restoring the original greenhouse. xxx
You and that greenhouse have a rich history. I remember you growing tomatoes from seed, and then making a delicious meal for the family with them. Having your own greenhouse, albeit an historic one, is a luxury not just anyone has. I know you will make good use of it.
