Hard to reproduce-hence the fact that the swarmatrons are hand made and cost thousands of dollars. There are only a handful in the world. Great job! More of these please. How about some Aphex Twin.
Swarmatron didn't exist in 2000/2001. That can be be achieved with Noise FM to pitch. Another trick Trent uses in place of Swarmatron type of voicing is tuning a guitar's 6 strings to one note (the "Ostrich" tuning) and strumming rapidly. Throw that through a filter and you start to get some wailing "swarm-like" textures. Good approximation with unison btw.
Thank you so much for this! By the way, that's not a Swarmatron on Leaving Hope as far as I've ever read. I think he first got the synth around 2008/2009 as it first appeared on the How To Destroy Angels ep from 2010. And I think the actual instrument was not made available until 2005 or so. I hope that helps some and thank you again for the breakdown!
@@PhotonVideos Old post I know. But I believe it's just layered guitar effects. During The Fragile era, that was what a lot of the sounds were based around. He said some songs on The Fragile had as many as 90 tracks for mixing it all together.
youre on fire with these uploads! i adore your videos so far. also if your were not aware there is a digital emulation of the swarmatron out there called "The Swarm" its pretty good but wouldnt fool anyone
really appreciate the video and the shout out (never expected that 😂) great ideas to explore with modulating the unison amount on wavetable and massive. keep the videos coming and thanks again!
Dude, your channel so far is a real gift. Thanks a lot. If you take requests, could you do one on The Greater Good’s bass synth? - Also by NIN of course.
Honestly, exploring the underrated Gone Girl soundtrack would be interesting. There’s so many unique sounds and textures there. Would be worth exploring 👍
Loving these. Curious if you have any ideas or thoughts on how TR & AR achieved all the flavoring on top of the 'Like Home' (off Gone Girl OST) main synth.
Great thanks!
Yoir vids are awesome
Great catch on it being that awesome sound within “leaving hope”! Love the content man! Keep it coming!

can you replicate those glitched out percussions that are prevalent in year zero? i love your videos
I think its percussionloops+distortion-> bounced and then playing around with ableton timestretching, bounced and then sliced into individual sounds.
@@kowi333 It also could be a case of modular synth distortion as in The Great Destroyer, which is the actual name of the amp.
You are a Sound Design Genius!!! I wish I had your skills. Keep up the great work!

Can you clarify what you are calling "flavouring?"
@@PhotonVideos for sure. the drony/discordant stuff that sits above the melodic synth loop. Mainly from 2:18 on
Great stuff 👍
