- Come along with me as I make a super cute baby quilt using a small piece of FUN fabric as the COLOR inspiration!
The quilt block has been called: Birds in the Air, Wild Geese, One Way, Trip to the altar and Geometric Patchwork.
I used NINE 3" half square triangles for each quilt block, 8" squares for the alternate block.
Outside triangles were made using 12" squares cut into triangles.
Quilt measures 43" x 50"

Sweet! I love your focus fabric. That is how I start most of mine. I am an “all about color” quilter. I agree with you….every quilt is an adventure; sometimes a map isn’t needed.
I have to say, I would probably never pick the fabrics you put together, but in the end it always turns out perfect. I love your quilts.
Your quilt is adorable, as always. Thank you for sharing

This is it. THIS IS IT! I recently purchased some Liberty fabric and didn't know what to do with it, but now I do. Your half square triangles remind me of fish, so I'm going to look for some cute fish fabric for the big squares. Thanks for another great idea!

How many viewers out here still have their baby quilt? I don't have mine, but I have my parents wedding quilt from 1948. I've been holding on to it, to restore, but I'm told it's beyond help.
I have my grandmothers wedding quilt from the 1920’s. Not in too bad of shape for its age!
❤❤❤
I love this. Perfect for a baby quilt. What was the size of the large squares before you cut them into triangles. I missed that part.
12”
Beth do you keep a quilt journal? I hope so. Do you know the number of quilts? Guinness World Records might be interested❤that border was perfect! Since retiring 6 years ago I have done about 12 and would you believe..I have never done HST’s ..how do that happen? 😂(KH)
How much of the “main” fabric did you use? I think you used 5 other colors with the solid for the hst’s? I’d love to make for my daughter but don’t want to end up “short” of the main one.
Beautiful baby quilt!
I had a little less than 1 yd
@@bethshibleyquilts thank you. I appreciate the information. Now I’m off to get the items needed! Yay!
@@bethshibleyquiltsone last question please? What size squares did you cut for your setting triangles?
My squares were 12” before cutting them into triangles
@@bethshibleyquilts perfect! Thank you for the fast response 😊
A pretty quilt.
