- (almost) every Ty France HBP on the Seattle Mariners. Some I couldnt find footage for are missing. Clips are sorted by pitch speed, in case youre into that kinda thing.
Put that elbow guard in the HOF
Death, Taxes, and Ty France getting HBP
Hit 90 times as a mariner in just over 3 seasons crazy!
2 things i realized:
-People say Ty crowds the plate, but a certain point it's crazy how many up and in pitches he gets
-Damn, his numbers used to be so good.
Pitchers hate him
I didn't realize how much I wanted or needed this video! Seeing how many of them were to his left elbow, tells me Ty France knows exactly what he is doing (and I love him for that)... Thanks!
Great video -- maybe order them from slow to fast next time?
I’ll consider this when doing the end of season update
Yeah, I gotta say it's kind of anticlimactic going from 100 to the helmet, to a 78mph pitch that won't even make a boo boo
@@TariqSWOLEn 100%, the day after I uploaded it I realized that, but I felt bad deleting a video that was doing well.
Ty France has his own gravitational force field
When most players move France stands there talk about taking one for the team. I admire he doesn’t give up his batting position to pitchers obviously trying to take ownership of the inside part of the plate.
Ty France's 34 HBP in 2023 is T-9th all-time.
The only France that never surrenders
When your hands and forearms are 3 inches out of the strike zone, it's gonna happen. A lot.
Getting hit by ryne stanek 😅
He has the mariners record and he's only been on the team 4 years
Geeze...I had stop. Somebody needs to explain to Ty that "...taking one for the team..." is just an expression 😂
I am so confused by this. He doesn't even crowd the plate? I wonder if his scouting report is he cannot hit up and in? This seems like such a weird anamoly.
Many people were accusing Ty of crowding the plate when he didn't. Before Ty France, the one who got hit the most was Nelson Cruz, and they both wore uniform number 23 with the Mariners.
I think it’s his swing motion, when he loads up it looks like his elbow is just a few inches up and in. His feet are back in the box so it doesn’t look like he’s crowding, but he looks like he’s standing very top heavy-leaning over the plate just a bit.
France doesn't particularly hit up and in very well. A lot of pitchers are trying to hit the up and in corner but the problem is if you miss you hit the batter.
He crowded it a little more last few years but yeah he doesn’t hit up and in pitches very well so pitchers like to throw it there
I think an addendum to the rules to penalize inside balls more than outside balls, maybe have them count as double (so 2 inside-pitches would cause a walk). As is, for the pitcher, it's optimal strategy to aim for the inside strike zone. Inner strikes are much harder to cleanly hit than center/outer strikes, some of that risk should be carried over to the defense. The recent rulings were designed to make the game more aggressive (bigger bases, pitch clock) and this would have a similar effect. Don't throw inside.
Bro is the definition of “be a ball magnet”
Ngl he got dumb Aura 🗣️🔥
Went through a ton during this video. Maybe all 5 stages. But I’ve landed on, this man deserves a statue outside the stadium. What a hero. Ain’t no job too small. 🫡
Very first clip had me in tears 😂 I wasn’t ready
Always one guy who just gets it because he a good bat
God damn that one off the right funnybone was brutal
Why is this in my auto recommend and why is it 13 minutes long, someone help my mans he gettin abused out here
Why does he get hit so much? Doesn't look like he's crowding the plate.
He doesn’t get out of the way
So apparently France doesn't retreat
2:34 ?
Need to come out batting with a full suit of armor.
Great video. Just subed
How long did this take to make?
A python script does it all, so once i fine tune what events I want it to show, it then compiles them.
I understand when a guy crowds the plate they get hit often but he doesn't so why does he get hit so often?
Pitchers are trying to throw up and in but are missing. France also typically doesn't get out of the way unless the ball is headed for his head.
Not sure why it was recommended but why, why is he hit so much
its gotta be his batting stance right ?
I don't understand how this is possible lol.
Analysts how did u become so great ? Ty : well I got on base a lot by getting hit all the time 😆😆
Jay buhner Jay buhner Jay buhner
Known as the Trident Enforcer😮
I hate football analogies in our old school game but he'd be like the outfit a middle linebacker😅
As old leadoff position X like it tight on ankle right leads position. 🎉
Could he make it in the 40s that'd be hard telling
2:40 LMAO even his home crowd boos him for these shenanigans 🤣🤣
Though I'm a fan of the Mriners, Ty puts his elbow in those spots to get hit.... Kinda cheat but thanks for sharing!
Prolly gets a fat check from the manufacturer of that elbow guard every time he takes one and they sell another thousand.
Unluckiest player in mlb😂
At this point i'm amazed he still has a forearm
I know I clicked on a video of exclusively Ty France getting hit by pitches but I cannot believe how many there are it just keeps going
Imagine what it will be like when his career is over considering he is only on year five!
oh yeah 12 minutes and 40 seconds is a lot of pitches gettin sent your way
I’m 4 minutes in and I’m already thinking that’s a lot of pitches to be hit by
What’s even funnier is a couple of his first AB’s of the year were HBP😂
even ohtani couldn't resist the power of ty france's elbow
If I were Ty France, I'd take plate appearances in catcher's gear. Assuming they wouldn't let me wear an EOD bomb suit.
Lol come out like the Hurt Locker.
Even the commentators can't believe how much he gets hit. Taking hits like a champ
It’s ludicrous how many of those are hitting him in the back and head. Like I know he’s in tight a bit and he leaves that elbow out as a target but you remove those and this is still entirely too many times to be hit by baseballs
How would you like to be hit by baseballs thrown by MLB pitchers for 12 minutes and 41 seconds?
Hardest working elbow guard in MLB!
Is it a meme to hit this guy or what? Thats a crazy amount of hbp's
what is it about him that he gets hit so much , he doesn't crowd the plate so why is it
A lot of batters will jump back on high inside fastballs, but if you watch closely he kinda leans into some of them, and others he just stands there and lets them hit him. Technically illegal to not try to avoid it, but that rule isn’t enforced and it’s part of the game imo. The pitcher takes the risk with inside fastballs that they might miss further inside.
Edit: he also apparently is weak on the up-and-inside stuff, so that’s where pitchers attack him.
This video is 12+ minutes. Respect to Ty 🤣
Weird how much he gets hit. He doesn’t really crowd the plate like Rizzo.
He's not particularly crowding the plate - so, why? Are scouts telling pitchers he's a good guy to hit? It's ridiculous.
high and in is his weak spot and he just takes most of them which should honestly be called on him more.
a walk is as good as a hit, a a hbp is as good as a walk (minus less pitches and sleeping with a welt)
The guy wouldn’t get hit so much if he wasn’t talking shit on 1st
Setting MLB records at this point....
I wonder if he practices getting hit by a ball because it happened so often to him he’s got a good resistance to it cuz me id have ptsd steppin in the box
I’m going to take a wild guess, that the analytics say Ty France is not good at hitting inside pitches 🤷♂️ idk
Man this is messed up hahaha😅 love you france taking them like a champ! 🏆
my king
4:03 how do you send a message to a guy that LIKES being HBP? This is how. Great job, Keller
