25K Portugal Quinta - Starlink Solution

Hello and welcome to Portugal on a shoestring. We are Brian and Diane and in 2023 we bought a 120 year old abandoned property in central Portugal. We welcome any and all questions and suggestions. One thing that we found difficult in our preparations for moving to Portugal was finding our about costs and processes, so we would like to be as open as possible and will try to answer your questions as honestly and openly as possible.

Where is your land's end is it at that rock wall?

Hi, yes that's the rearmost boundary and the other side of the stream has a small cliff along it which forms the other 🙂

I was always curious about Starlink, very interesting to see! Was that the only way to get internet there where you live? Would cable internet be an option at all?

Thank you, we're we live there is a reasonable 4G signal and there is landline broadband available to the telephone pole at the corner but no fibre broadband. We did consider the landline but Starlink worked out at about the same price, 40 euro per month but you do have to buy the kit from them to start with which costs 200€🙂
