Several years ago I made a resolution to decorate family graves at Christmas. Some people thought it was morbid and sad, but I remember good times when we were together. My son died in 97' of cancer, my father died in 2000 of cancer, my sister and her daughter died in a house fire in 2008. I miss them. Sharing part of my Christmas with them helps me miss them a little less throughout the year.
So sorry for your losses, Krisandra, but what a beautiful thing to do!! A lot of people are now doing the same things and the cemeteries look so nice and festive at Christmas, now. Thanks for do this and for sharing the memory of your loved ones with us!
Hi Steve,. Thank you so much for remembering Clemente. I lived in Pittsburgh when he perished in a plane crash. The whole city mourned for months. He was such a great humanitarian. He had had a premonition that he would die in an airplane crash. I loved him so much as a player and person that I have his poster on the wall in my apartment. I can close my eyes and see him run to rightfield. His memory lives on and will forever. He is a legend in Puerto Rico even to young people who never saw him play. What a great legacy to have. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
That's beautiful, Norma. Thanks for sharing that. I remember his name, from back in the day. He was so popular, but I didn't know about the premonition. That and the fact that he was doing a humanitarian good deed, makes it all the sadder. :-(
Norma Hird I remember that day like it was yesterday, I'm walking down a dirt road, just got the news Roberto Clemente died, in a plane crash helping survivors of a Guatemalan earthquake, I was 16 years old, love baseball devastated our baseball team I live in a small town in southern Oregon I still think he was one of the greatest.
@@daleslover2771 Clemente was probably the best right fielder ever in baseball. I was able to see him make many great throws, saves and hits in person. I attended many Pirate games. He had many Golden Globe awards. There were many players thrown out at first base by Clemente while trying to make a single into a double. He had an arm like a Howitzer. He was on that plane to help people. Humanitarian aid was being diverted from the earthquake victims . He felt if he went with the supplies he could make sure that the needy got helped. He was a great man.
What you are doing, is a wonderful thing. You are honoring & remembering people, some who may no longer have any family to honor their memories... where I live we have a few famous stars of their time. Broderick Crawford (actor, best known for “All the Kings Men”), his mother, Helen Broderick Crawford (screenwriter & actress, best known for her role in “Top Hat”) & Lester Crawford Pendergast (this is the same cemetery as my family plot is), my mother has for many years placed flowers on their graves because they have either been forgotten or no longer have living relatives in the area... In a separate cemetery we have Margaret Cynthia Nickloy, (actress, best known for playing one of the Munchkins in “The Wizard of Oz”) & finally Mischa Auer, (actor, in “Brewster’s Millions” - starring Richard Pryor)... keep doing what you do!!! Thank you!
What a nice thing for your mother to do. They sound like wonderful cemeteries and very interesting. Thanks for sharing this with us. ALSO, If you've ever taken a photo or video of any of these graves, especially with you or your mom in the pictures, and would like to share them on this channel, I would love to include them in a future video and give you credit and a shout out. When Ricky Nelson died, my husband and I were in London with friends, so I will never forget his death! Edward Herrmann was in Overboard, another movie I love!! It breaks my heart, how many famous people die from drugs, and suicide! I hope they all RIP!
Happy New Year! 1st time comment...love your videos..I live in a cemetery, bought the old caretakers house, and give tours of town founders and shapers graves. I appreciate the style of your craft. Keep the videos coming!
OMG, that's fantastic! What cemetery? Are you in the U.S.? If I'm ever in your town I would like to take your tour. Not many people live in cemeteries. I bet you have some interesting stories to tell. Feel free to share them here :-) Thanks for sharing this TPR!
Hi. You're the 1st I ever heard say that you live in a cemetery. Doesn't it bother you in the night? Do you live alone? You have more gumption than me. When I worked in lower Manhattan, I would sometimes sit in the old churchyard of St. Paul to eat lunch, but it was during the day. But it's closed at night. Wouldn't sit there then, though. I find lower Manhattan a little spooky at night. It's a big slice of history. When I would walk to the train station, it was like I old feel the spirits of the past all around. But believe or not, it's my favorite part of NYC. And I also like horror books and movies too. But fantasy is fantasy, reality is reality. Guess you think I'm a nut, huh? I getting older now. I sometimes let my imagination get the better of me😄
@@Decgyrrl Lol...no...it's a very peaceful place..I have 16,000 of the best neighbors one could ever ask for...i live with my animals and there have been times when my dog "sees things " or gets spooked. It's an old, full cemetery full of history and intrigue.
I don't make resolutions, however I strive to be a better person. That is more patient with people, kindness always, and making sure those I love know that I love and cherish them. Happy New Year and Salut' to a year full of Abundance.

Happy Holidays my friend. I'm sorry to see that you forgot to mention that Ray Walston died on New Years day . He starred in "My Favorite Martian" from 1963 to 1965.

It is appreciated by fans of these stars. Merry X-mas and Happy New Year to you and yours. P.S. Have you ever done a study/video of stars who passed away on their birthday?
I'm working on a vlog about famous people who died on their birthdays for this coming year. Good suggestion, Deutschie! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours, too!

I'm impressed that you take the time and effort to respond to almost all of the comments written. Some questions. How do you decide on the thesis of your stories? And, do you personally do the background research? How do you find the time to produce these informative, and entertaining vlogs? Retired or independently wealthy? Be that as it may, have a wonderful 2019!
I'm impressed that you read all the comments and noticed :-) Yes, I do everything myself. I don't see how Jordan the Lion and others can do one a day! I can barely do one a week! I think many of the other vloggers have help and the daily vloggers usually just visit one person or destination per vlog, which makes it a bit easier. I'm semi retired and I try to choose people and places to vlog that I have a personal connection to in some way, or have good memories of. My vlogs are mostly just trips down memory lane. Thanks for watching and for asking J1st! And I hope you have a wonderful 2019, too!
Re: Cesar Romero-I was fortunate to meet him; he walked into my lab office for routine tests. He was so courtly and nice! What a gentleman! I was so saddened when he passed. God bless this lovely man.

I am so grateful for his dedication, his respect shown in each cemetery, his research, and his recognition of many of the well known and not so famous people in the film industry. I think it’s always a great thing to remember those who came before us! It’s a little sad that cremation is becoming more common and that we are unable to visit a place to pay our respects. Though it’s nice when there’s at least a memorial. Happy New Year 🥳
I'm all for cremation, but I'm surprised that so many of them do not want cenotaphs or memorials, which are so affordable and would give fans a place to visit. Thanks, BWB!
I made my last New Years resolution in 1986. I resolved to make no more resolutions. It's the only one I've ever kept. I am looking toward the new year with some hope. I recently got divorced and have decided to relocate to my old hometown. Familiarity does not always breed contempt.
My wife, when we were married in the late eighties and she was 19, loved Rick Nelson's sons Matthew and Gunnar. My oldest son is named after Matthew Nelson.
I stopped drinking alcohol completely this year and I’m glad I did, I could never live with myself had I been responsible for someone’s death because of alcohol. Great video as usual Steve

My father died on New Years Eve 1988. My family-wife and three young daughters had come for the Christmas Holidays and his birthday on December 28th. We drove from San Antonio TX to a small Illinois town north of St. Louis to be with him for we knew that it was just a matter of time that his Parkinson's disease would take his life. He had a wonderful time with the kids even though he was confined to a wheel chair at the time. My last memory of him was on his birthday. He was watching the girls playing in the snow in our yard and he kept saying how precious they were. We left for San Antonio early on New Years Eve because both my wife and I had to be back at work on January 3rd. We spent part of the night in Dallas but left at two in the morning so we could rest up on Sunday the 2nd. We arrived home at 7:00 in the morning on New Year's Day. Just as I opened the door to our house the phone rang. I almost did not bother to answer it but my wife thought it might be one of my clients. It was the night nurse at my father's house telling me that my father had passed at 2:10 on New Years Eve shortly after we had left Dallas. She was not able to reach us in Dallas with the news before we had left.
Thanks for sharing your father's story and memory with us, Bill. Even though it's sad, what a great gift to him and to all of you to have spent his final days together. it seems that he was waiting to see all of you, before he passed. Now he's with you again every New Years Eve!
@@TheGraveyardChannel Yeah we thought that as well. I just hope that he is happy to know that those three little girls are now grown women leading productive lives and the youngest and her fiance just bought a house and are in the process of fixing it up prior to getting married sometime this summer. We live in the house that he built in 1958 and for me Christmas is a bit hard because I have lost all of my immediate family who lived in town, parents, grandparents, and my sister and brother-in-law. This is where the entire family and aunts, uncles, and cousins celebrated Christmas. Now with just my wife and I, it seems so empty.

Hi Lisa, I would be happy to share any famous grave sites that you visit and that you would like to send. Especially if you include yourself in the pictures or videos. You don't have to, but they're always more personal and more interesting when the person taking the pic or video is in the frame, too. Thanks, Lisa!
Wayne Rogers was an investment finance guru in his last years. He made regular appearances on the Fox Business Channel right up until his death. His death surprised me because he looked healthy on his weekly program.
Edward Herrmann was another celebrity whose passing I managed to miss at the time, along with that of Wayne Rogers. It's a little odd that I did so, as I was familiar with the work of both of them. Another well-done tour, Steve. On getting older in general; yeah, I do realize that there are more years BEHIND me now, than there are ahead, so I try not to "sweat the small stuff" so much any more. As my Dad told me when I was still young enough not to pay him much attention (of course), it doesn't take one nearly as long to live out a lifetime as we think when we are young.... Something maybe we should all take to heart.
I was in California ready to fly home when we heard about Ricky Nelson dying in a plane crash. I called my parents and said I wouldn't fly home that day. It was my parents gift to me to go to California for my graduation gift. I flew home on the second. It really freaked me out. But I loved California!! 😊
Happy Christmas Steve :) Thank you ever so for these videos. Most of us will never be able to visit these ourselves and I thank you for taking the time to help us vist as well.

When Ricky Nelson died, my husband and I were in London with friends, so I will never forget his death! Edward Herrmann was in Overboard, another movie I love!! It breaks my heart, how many famous people die from drugs, and suicide! I hope they all RIP!
i agree. it's extra sad.
Another great video to those who have passed away. I didn’t make any resolutions this year, but I sure like yours!
Yes! It Is A Very Positive Thing! To Always Remember People!💙❤🙂👍👍✌
Happy New Year!
That was very interesting, thanks. Happy New year to you also.
I don't make resolutions, however I strive to be a better person. That is more patient with people, kindness always, and making sure those I love know that I love and cherish them. Happy New Year and Salut' to a year full of Abundance.
Thanks for sharing Michele. You can't ask for a better non resolution than that! Happy New Year to you and yours, too!
Oh wow,I remember the day Ricky Nelson died, it just about broke my heart so sad and Pete Duel.I just didn't realize so many did die on New Years Eve. Another great video as always and Happy Holidays, and always be safe.
Ricky's death was one of the hardest! Thanks, Paulette and Happy Holidays to you too!
Mr G,
Thank you for your excellent videos and information.
Wishing you and yours
a wonderful new year.🙏🏼🕊
Just a footnote.
My Dad passed on April fools day 1966. He had a warped sense of humor!
LOL, thanks for sharing his memory and sense of humor with us, D!
Thank you 🙏
Happy Holidays my friend.
I'm sorry to see that you forgot to mention that Ray Walston died on New Years day . He starred in "My Favorite Martian" from 1963 to 1965.
Oh, no, I can't believe I forgot him too! I'll do a part 2 next year for those I left out this year. Thanks for letting me know, Deutschie. I'll do a shout out to you next year!
@@TheGraveyardChannel As per Wikipedia, upon his death he was cremated and his ashes were given to his daughter. So he has no permanent resting place to visit.
Thanks for your hard, sensitive work.

Thanks for sharing this with us Camille 👍
Cool and touching video. Different versions of Auld Lang Syne worked well!
Thanks, Tazzman!
You are absolutely right about getting older
Loved this. I didn't know a lot of the info you provided here, so this was a great video to watch! Happy New Year.
Thanks Cartoonlover and same to you!
Re: Cesar Romero-I was fortunate to meet him; he walked into my lab office for routine tests. He was so courtly and nice! What a gentleman! I was so saddened when he passed. God bless this lovely man.

Don't you just LOVE The Graveyard Guy?! I am so grateful for his dedication, his respect shown in each cemetery, his research, and his recognition of many of the well known and not so famous people in the film industry. I used to follow many of those celebrities of the past: 1920s to 1940s, and appreciate their memories restored. Have a wonderfully blessed and prosperous New Year 2019.

Wayne Rogers was an investment finance guru in his last years. He made regular appearances on the Fox Business Channel right up until his death. His death surprised me because he looked healthy on his weekly program.
how interesting. i didn't know that. thanks for sharing it with us, daryl!
We should live with gusto and savor every moment we're here on planet earth. Life should be a celebration!

Thank-You Graveyard Guy!!!! Yes, I ALWAYS have New Years "Resolutions", but this coming year, I'm going to try to be a little more GENTLE with myself. And you are sooooooo RIGHT, the older you get, the more you realize, you DO NOT HAVE as many days left as before!!!!
Being kind to yourself, is always good goal. Thanks for watching, LGM and cheers to enjoying every day of the new year!
