Lugging bit! You are using a chiefney bit which is usually for stallions to help handle them. This bit is so severe to ride in and I am shocked that it is allowed.
This is not a chifney bit. The Chifney is a single piece bit used for leading (not riding) horses with an indentation at the top of the bit. The ring or lugging bit is essentially just the snaffle bit commonly used with riding horses but with a ring attached to it to help prevent it pulling sideways through the horse’s mouth
