There is no way to make this bit painless in a horses mouth even with soft hands.
You gently pull on the rein and you get leverage from the twisted wire mouth piece leverage bit AND leverage from the noseband acting as a very rough and thin hackamore WITH a chain curb. This is cruel through and through and the only purpose for this bit is to be used as a shortcut gimmick to bypass real training.
If your horse *needs* this than you should think about going back to the basics and retraining the foundation instead of destroying your horses mouth AND face.

My mare loves it and takes the bit with ease and perked ears. Shows absolutely no signs of pain. She actually prefers this bit over the o ring snaffle I tried on her.

@@paigepresnell5795 some people are to smart for their own good lol. No but is comfortable or perfect but yet I’ve seen horses that performed best or one worked in a Tom Thumb. No matter how much work and what basics you go to. But some people just choice to ignore the facts. I’ve seen 100k horses work in bits that are terrible or extremely harsh. This is actually a bit that can be soft or harsh depending on your riding and horses needs. Fixing to buy one just to have around because these are nice

That's absurd. You shouldn't need a noseband and not only a bit, but a tom thumb bit, one of the most aggressive, painful bit towards a horses mouth. Leverage, break In the mouth, noseband and curb chain? Come on. This horse is so uncompterble.

Peanutbutter Pancakes you know nothing about it I use this bit (I have soft hands) and we do well a bit can be abusive in the wrong hands don’t hate if you don’t know what your talking about I would use a hackamore on my horse but he has so much speed I can’t stop him so for mine and his safety I use a bit

@@chasing_dreams_and_barrels2361 I love how people thing this is harsh it doesn’t even work like a Tom Thumb that she stated. Shows how ignorant ol peanut butter is. This is a mild bit but can be harsh if not set right or if your heavy handed. Even then some horses just require that. People seem to never understand that. glad it works for you and that is why I’m fixing to buy one just to sit in the tack room in case I need it some day

If you have "soft hands," why do you need such a nasty bit? If you can't stop him without twisted wire in his mouth to hurt him into stopping you are deluding yourself. Put this in the cook of you elbow. @@chasing_dreams_and_barrels2361

It works MUCH more painfully than a Tom Thumb. You have no clue, and that does not excuse your abuse. Put the nasty ass twisted wire in the crook of your elbow and jiggle on it. See how painful it is. Then put that nasty ass, harsh noseband there and jiggle on it and see how many bruises you develop. If you can't do this in a snaffle, you don't have a trained horse @@dakotadickens3747

Not one horse bit is acceptable, it has been scientifically proven that all bits will affect every system in the horse's body except the reproductive system. Nobody understands how abusive a bit is to a horse physically and sometimes even mentally. It doesnt matter how much it bends in half in quarters it's still abusive.

Lilliah Rigby a bit can be abusive if it’s in the wrong hands I use this bit to help my horse turn better and I have soft hands and this is a dogbone and it does not hit the roof of the mouth

Lilliah Rigby it’s abusive in the wrong hands I use a bit because my horse has so much speed I can’t use a hackamore and if I can’t stop him me or him could get hurr

Bits can be bad in the wrong hands but for people like me with soft hands they arent bad and my horses are trained to go off of leg pressure mostly but i barrel race.one of my horses legacy does not like a hackamore but she likes the bit
