The clams are either top neck (2 inches across the hinge) or cherrystone (3 inches across the hinge). Great looking recipe. You just gave me the perfect idea for appetizers for Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas.

I just made these with mussels instead of clams because that’s what we had. Also omitted prosciutto because I didn’t have any, and added a bit of butter and more garlic. My family loved it!!

using a similar method and mix is also amazing as a stuffed mushroom! I make those all the time, sometimes adding cream cheese, diced red bell pepper, and chilis too.

I love your recipe, I make one very similar I call Clam Casino I made my stuffing with bread crumbs, granulated garlic , butter mixed all together and topped with a bit of bacon bake in the oven until golden brown.

My wife hated onions, it makes my cooking really tough! I use about 1/4 of whatever a recipe calls for & always cut them in large strips so she can avoid them. This looks great but there are only 2 of us! I love your videos Laura, been following you for years!

I made this recipe but I put the clams and stuffing in the food processor and mixed it then stuffed the clam shells, topped it with cheese and baked it

I'd eat just the clams. But this sounds great!
One clam farmer said the easiest way to reduce the sand is for them to lift them off the bottom, and hold them there for 24 hours. The clam farmer holds them in buckets anyway and could greatly reduced the sand you get off they would just keep the clams off the bottom instead of in small buckets.

Mrs. Laura, nice recipe, the large clams are called Quahogs, come from the colder waters in new england, & they are normally less costly than little necks or cherry stone clams.
She used cherry stones. Quahogs are tougher and too large for this recipe. They are good for chowder and stuffed quahogs that you mince them up in.

I prep clams by covering in salted water (sea salt of course) and adding corn meal. Let them sit for at least an hour to take in the meal and expel the sand...rinse and carry on.
