Attending salary is how much you actually make when you finish your residency (when you are practising as a fully liscenced doctor). Residency is kind of like doctor training or ‘placement’ where you work alongside an experienced doctor or team day to day for 4-5 years(you still get paid, but not like the full doctor amount). When you finish your Residency ‘placement’ you can either be hired by that same hospital or market yourself to other places or go private. You go from making 60K -80k as a resident and then after your done with residency you start making the market rate for doctors in your field. Which is upwards of 120k to - infinity dollars per year.
