I have about 6 of these vintage reels! I love them! I got my first “Daiwa MiniCast” System back when I was a kid in the 70’s.I have since been using and collecting these kits! One thing I have done. Is to polish the shaft of the main gear with a good metal polish! I also polished the inner surface of the body where the main gear rides. I found some small thin washers to put on the shat to help with too much side to side play. I put a thin drop of oil on the polished surface and it makes the reel smoother than before. I’ve been looking into how to put bearings in instead of the washers to make it even smoother. Glad to see someone do some videos to help others keep these alive! ❤️👍
