As a fellow Canadian, I like it when you talk about the associated costs since things can be so variable up here. Helps me budget my own Z build a little easier. Thanks for all the vids!
Keep the videos coming, they're great! I tracked my Z for the first time at the end of last summer after owning it for 9 years, can't wait for summer to be back. I'll definitely refer back to your videos whenever I need some upgrades. For now, I'll concentrate on the driving part and seat time 😁
It wasn’t meant to be a roast. Just wanted to show some drifting while I mentioned drifting. That’s the most popular part of the video by the way on analytics.
There needs to be more content like yours focusing on Z's track potential. Great video on aero, I'm quite a ways behind you in terms of seat time, build progress, and overall experience; but your video definitely inspire me to keep pushing.
That’s good! That’s what I am here for. I’m not a race engineer, but I at least can pass on what I know so far to the newbies to they can chew people up on track. 👍
@@2THPWR Whats your take on some of the "JDM" brand aero such as Voltex? Voltex has this one wing, that has like an L shaped bracket that covers the bottom edge of the hatch and goes half way up the lid. I saw that and thought of your video about how your hatch deformed under speed.
@@2FIRacing I am posting from memory so I could be wrong. I don’t think Voltex posts any lift vs drag numbers either? Although I have seen a few cars use them without issue on track. Definitely quality construction. Look up numbers and see.
Great video Mike! I agree with drifters putting a status style wing for looks as for now. I’m thinking of getting a relatively cheap one for my 350z. I suggest you do include cost of parts and labour especially for chassis mounting the new wing
well put together! seems like you going towards the audition helped make more of a focus on commentary structure. you have your own presentation style and its cool to see you refine it. look forward to seeing the future vids! XF motorsports is the real deal too, maybe he'll come out to GB sometime. the ASL would be fun to poke around.
apr sent me the wrong measurement TWICE!!!. then wanted me to send the first wing back after saying i sent the wrong measurements.. when it was clearly on my receipt. I ended getting a fabricator to make me spacers..kept the first wing..sold it and made my money back for my troubles
Very informative. Do you think there's a different set of criteria when selecting a wing size for a front-heavy, rwd car like the 350Z vs a more neutral-weighed rwd car like S2000 or E46 330i? Or is the shape/angle of the wing more important?
Yes. I definitely feel the Z needs a little extra rear downforce to help sort it out. I feel that not only does it increase overall grip but it also improves balance.
@@2THPWR I see. So in the case of a neutral-weight rwd car, like S2000, or a mid-engine car, like Cayman, do you think a wing is needed at all? Perhaps just front splitter in the case of Cayman?
You usually want to make sure the splitter and rear wing or spoiler work together. That helps any car. But you don’t want to ruin the balance of a car that is already nice and neutral. If you had an S2000 with a wing only vs an S2000 without a wing or any aero on a track with a lot of high speed turns the S2000 with aero would still be faster, but it would understeer more than the base car and would need suspension and tire adjustments to help tune out some of the understeer to take full advantage of the modification.

Ok ok ok. Stonks accounting to return next time.
I totally agree. It brings things into perspective I think
Love your 9min rant about all and everything :D
Haha yeah one thing leads to the next
His points are all very on point 👌

Awesome man. That’s what I’m trying to do. Pass on at least a little experience.
Thank you for all the knowledge you drop I hope you and your family are doing well Michael, best of luck with your up coming season
Much appreciated
Just recently found your channel watching all the videos love the content!
Thanks I need all the help I can get.
Love the vid! Thanks for the feature and the roast😂

Thanks for the encouragement. This vid is doing terrible so far. 😂
@@2THPWR I still miss a video about the Gardner sport grippy boys 🤭 #tire-insider

Sad. No answer back on my uprights. As they are “off the shelf” it should be easy.
I think I'm going to hold off and do a full chassis wing also

Excellent aero content!
What wing and splitter combination would you recommend for a s2000 wanting to participate in street class? (Cscs)
Oh shoot/ well look at the names I said I was closely looking at in the video. APR, Spage Sport, 9Lives racing.
Big Wang Gang!!! (functional of course)
hah yeah
What events plan on running this year?
CSCs I think. Maybe Northern Speed. Maybe OTA.
i care a lot of cost and price of mod my 350z as beginner,so plz say the price and cost about everything u done to your car, thx!!
Ok will do
Yo, how much did that cost?
I think the price has increased. They are listed at 1491 USD on Z1 Motorsports and the duty into Canada was $380z so almost 2K Canadian. 😵
Yes I do care, only you are open and upfront about the true cost of racing as someone who isn’t sponsored
Spoiler alert. The sponsored guys spend way more. WAY more. Th easiest way to gain sponsorship is to just spend a ton 1st.
