Whoa! That looks so good!!!! Thanks for pointing out the visibility too. No one ever talks about that. But your right from the view of you sitting in the car it looks nearly identical to stock visibility. That’s trippy! Would have never thought that.

That was my main concern with this hatch but I figured I can sacrifice some visibility to look good lol. Thankfully it worked out in my favor

Need to readjust the hinges to get rid of the gaps. The hatch is 39 lbs, it's vastly lighter than stock.. The leaking comes from the foam seal around the plexi glass. You might want to find lower pressure struts also.. The factory ones will inevitably warp the hatch or the mount points will break off. Hope that helps. Lmk if u need advice on any new vis parts in the future.

Are you referring to the gaps where the taillights are? Those are the ones that kinda bother me the most. As far as the struts I’ve been on the lookout but all I can find is upgraded ones for extra weight on top of the OEM hatch. I’ve heard of people fabbing a baseplate for the mount points to disperse the pressure over a larger area.

@@matthewroman5322 yeah I got mine almost a decade ago, there was a guy making light weight versions.. Yeah you want to align the hatch to the a pillar shapes.. And make sure it sits far enough to the back that it doesn't rub when opening.. And will help the gaps a ton.. As for the flaring near the b pillar window.. It's somewhat normal.. It's fiberglass afterall.. Not dead on perfect. But the drivers side u hear running is Def visually misaligned too far towards the passenger side.. A tweak will help.. Trust me.. I HAAAATED aligning that hatch, but it can be done.. Just like hoods.. Have a body shop guy do it for you for 50 bucks and a case of models 😉👌

@@thebrianmccannofficial revisiting this almost 2 years later. Leaking still occurs on window, what did you replace the seal with? I figure if the factory foam seal is garbage why replace with another foam seal. I’m unsure what to do, can’t find info on this

This video popped up and thought I would toss in my 2 cents on the struts. I purchased the upgraded struts from when I added the Nismo spoiler which created too much weight for the stock struts .. so replacing the struts needs to be done after adding a spoiler. How much added weight the spoiler will add depends on the spoiler of course .. but worth keeping in mind that the new struts will be holding up both the lid and spoiler.

I just used a regular clear window silicone but it didn’t work to well. I’m going to redo it using butyl tape
