@Sifinds Did you do any mud larking in Guernsey? I'm planning on going to an East Coast beach on Saturday, you've inspired me to get out there and see what I can find. I'm worried that the rough sea will destroy artefacts but you never know. My sister found the stem of a clay pipe on that beach back in March.
Love the history bytes that you mudlarks include in your adventures...so interesting and informative! Keep these fantastic videos coming! Great friends having a wonderful day, finding lost treasures! Who could ask for anything more? Nellie! The star of the show! Lovely ring.
You really outdid yourself with these two Channel Islands adventures, Si! Brilliant editing and video work along with some fantastic finds. You should be justly proud of yourself, my man!
This video is incredibly fascinating, I am so tired but I couldn’t stop watching. Everyone’s finds are so interesting the history of the island is important to remember. It is sad that even a small part of the building couldn’t be restored for a museum. The rest built into accommodation. It’s so important to hang onto our history .
Really enjoyed these last two videos. Nice finds and the scenery was beautiful. The possible field eye glass was a super find. Your crafted ring will make a great memento from your trip. Have a great week and please keep safe! ❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful place! If I had the $$ I’d love to restore that Fort!! Looks like y’all had a grand time and with good friends. Great upcycle Si and lovely coins and tokens. Thanks for 2 part video and taking us a long with you. You’re quite the silversmith !!!! 🌟
Hello 👋 from New York USA That Silver Ring 💍 you Made is Absolutely Beautiful Thank you for Sharing your Talents with me And Thank you for Bringing me Along with you on You're Medal Detecting Adventure I can't wait to see What you Find Next 😊 😀
Great video Si’. Thanks from the US for the history lesson on this 4th of July Holiday Weekend. Reminds me of my dad who served with the US army towards the end of WWII and who would have loved your videos for sure. I’m still waiting for announcement that you and Nicola have made it official!
I think you were right about cutting back the edges of the ring. Also if you cut around the scrollwork it would fit better at your knuckle. Soldering the hoop closed would keep it from pinching.
I just watched another video yesterday about the concrete structures from the war that are left on that island! Sooo cool that you get to metal detect there!!!
Love to watch your channel,I'm watching from Seattle, Washington State USA, up here by Alaska you should come here someday its so beautiful !!! I'm 74years old now and disabled, but when I watch I'm there with you !! Thanks for the escape !!!! I love your artwork, you are so talented, your channel is so interesting, !!!! Love to all, Cathy from Seattle .......
What an absolute sin for the fort to have been neglected over the years. As you said Si - it would be an amazing site for a hotel with beautiful views. Such a shame .
Fantastic and informative video! And what a beautiful island! I'm a little surprised that there wasn't any coinage found from the Nazi occupation, but quite a variety of finds. Shout out to Clem for being a walking encyclopedia of historical knowledge. I could listen to him for hours.
Love the ring and also love that you show your stuff ups along the way. It encourages people to have a go and that mistakes are OK. I look forward to your videos for my escape time. Thank you.
Amazing adventure. The range of finds & ages blew me away. Loved the Fort tour & the Naval history reel. Loved the ring upcycle with Nelson & the chicks!
That German coin 1 Pfennig Hessen-Darmstadt Landgraf Ludwig IX (produced 1784-1790) is a lovely find, well done Si! The junky ring is very cool. How many eggs you get daily from your chickens? Cheers!
It is so interesting to see all the treasure and historical artifacts you found. Seeing the inside of the fort was awesome and the best was your ring creation. You should pursue more of that! It is lovely!
I totally agree with all the others I’ve read! Well done, Si! I’d love to be able to come along, but watching you and the gang will do! Keep it up, son!
A great triple header of wonderful mudlarkers metal detecting in a field! 💖I've got to hand it to you, Simon, you always share great history, edit great video and reply to the comments. I'm glad to see your channel doing so well! Have you tried detecting the walls of that fireplace incase something was sealed inside? Or any other walls? You should start a tourism restoration company to save the old fort. People could pay to have the opportunity to help restore it while learning old construction techniques.😃👍
I love the ring, but my infrequent OCD kicked in and I really couldn't handle the different sizes in the back! 🤣 Your dig was fasanating and I love the history behind the pieces of treasures you found. It must be wonderful to live near to there and be able to detect whenever you could! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
Hi Si. Yet another fantastic video. I did have the good fortune to visit Alderney are 15 years back and what a beautiful and peaceful place. The one thing that surprised me was how many cars there were for such a small place. Lol
Be careful! they won’t let you back lol. But it is a truly amazing place I was there working on the Hotel down at the beach, I have always said I would love to return but I have not got back there yet.
Huge field. Nice old button. Awesome film on sinking of the Bismarck. Thanks for the partial tour of the fort, interesting. Sad to see a part of history falling apart. Great upcycle.
Maybe there’s your calling Si. You could start a fund to repair sections of the fort and get the well off prominent families to donate funds for either one wing, one section, one room refurbish. If they couldn’t afford to donate money maybe they could donate their craft and time. Then you could put their names on a group of brass shields mounted with a plaque in the center explaining the history. What ya think? Love the finds and love how you all gift each other fabulously personal items.
Enjoyed the video Si! Great coin finds from all over. Next time you want to solder one item on top of another, paint your flux on, set your solder on the flux, then set item number two on the solder pieces. Heat the item and when you see the top item drop down evenly it will be soldered. That way you won't have solder all over everything.
Hello, nice video, thanks ! Just a thing, the 5 centimes coin you found at around 23:50 is not a 1880's french Cérès coin but a 5 or 10 centimes Dupré from the late 1790's / early 1800's, just after the french revolution !
Hey,Simon! That token that you found reminds me of something interesting from my country. Coal miners were paid in tokens in West Virginia,I think they nicknamed it ‘scrip’. This forced them to only be able to purchase in the overpriced company-owned stores. Angered by this, and having their demands to be paid in proper cash, basically a small scale war happened. As a show of solidarity, the miners wore a red bandana around their necks. This is where the word ‘Redneck’ comes from! It’s true!
Si I would never want to leave that place and one bucket wouldn’t be enough omg the finds are amazing it looked liked so much fun and your up cycling are amazing ty once again for another great video I would love to see another video at that place again and again and againxxxxxxooooo
Love the history, the friends, the sights, and the creativity!. Your content is always tops and I so look forward to another installment each week. Thank you for it all, Simon.

Awesome video 📹 👏 👌 👍 with lots of lovely information on WW2 . I enjoyed my Sunday. Cool historic findings. Hi 👋 to Nicole n the old boy Chill Bill. Super 👌 Crafting, the ring looks great. What a shame, you are right, How come they have not restored such an historic building? That would make a wonderful hotel .But I suppose it would take millions to put right .Lovely finds
What a glorious day! Out with good friends finding fantastic treasures… There were some fun and unusual finds and some truly beautiful pieces. So many great coins! I enjoyed today’s video, focusing on the scenery, your surroundings, and the history as well as your own finds. It was so beautifully videoed and edited. Very professional and well done! Loved your ring - and your first try! You should do another soon, now that you’ve got the hang of it, before you forget what you just taught yourself.

Fantastic finds and video Si. All those war time buildings are very interesting. 🌻🐕🇺🇸
I think you were right about cutting back the edges of the ring. Also if you cut around the scrollwork it would fit better at your knuckle. Soldering the hoop closed would keep it from pinching.
True, I need a lesson in soldering I think. I didn’t want to push my luck 👍🏻🐾🧡
