The fact that all of those charges were dropped doesn't sit well with me. She absolutely deserved to be charged and sentenced accordingly. She acted like an untamed animal and what she did was very, very dangerous. She will never learn her lesson.

The charges being dropped explains her behavior. This isn’t her first rodeo then. She’s been here done that before and those charges probably dropped too. Thus in her eyes she’s done absolutely nothing wrong…she never suffered consequences for the things she did prior to this so in her mind “what’s the big deal now”. Our “justice system” should be renamed…”just a waste of time system”.

The prosecutors deal with people like this all the time, the fact so many charges were dismissed on the prosecutors motion tells me that while yes, she was acting pretty unhinged, they felt like the amount of charges were excessive in there eyes. An OWI still sticks with you for a long time, and she still walked away with a misdemeanor. Prosecutors don't usually drop so many easy charges voluntarily unless they feel like its not worth pursuing.

A few months back I got pulled for expired tags, they were way expired so police told me I couldn’t drive home, and needed to remove my plates. I asked for them to follow me a block down to a place a knew it wouldn’t get towed. They did. Upon arriving there I casually mentioned how it sucked because I had to work, and all my jobs were in the country areas, not even trying to sway them just having conversation about the situation, I thought it was a done deal. They then offered to give me a ticket with the promise I’d take to DMV and get new tags. I was at the DMV the day after, paid my ticket and still had my car. It’s a wonder what being polite can do for you. It’s a lot easier being kind than it is being mean.

lol…the irony is that I once got pulled over (20 years ago) & when the cop walked up to ask “do you know why I pulled you over” I answered “yes ma’am. I’ve been drinking & you noticed I’m driving drunk”…and she was so impressed with my honesty & ownership that she asked how far I was from home (I was literally less than 3/4 of a mile…which is funny because I now realize that’s what EVERYONE always says whenever they get pulled over lol). She stared at me for about 20 seconds & then said “here’s the deal, my shift ends in 30 minutes, the paperwork alone for a DUI takes at least 3 hours. You are CLEARLY intoxicated but you don’t appear belligerent or oblivious. If I follow you home can you give me your word that you’ll go straight inside & go to bed?” I gave her my word, she followed me home, I got out of the car, she thanked me for being so easy to deal with but also let me know “this is a once in a lifetime get out of jail free card”, then she said “have a great night”…and I have NEVER driven drunk since that evening.
