I've owned the Zappa for about a month and man, is this thing a dream to play on. Really glad SGF was there to provide a cheaper entry level hit box for new players like me who's starting to really get into the FGC
I ordered this controller using a new code for $45 off. I live in California. It arrived in less than 2 days. In contrast, my Snack Box Micro XL took 5 weeks. The Zappa is also surprisingly quiet. Genuinely surprised how quiet it is even though it doesn’t come standard with quiet switches or padding or anything like that.
This is a great controller made by a really great team. I've personally played on the new Razer Kitsune and the Zappa and the Zappa buttons are SO MUCH BETTER than the razer ones.

I own both a Hitbox and a Snackbox micro xl and the leverless setup is the only way I like to play fighting games. Its just fun to play with as a proficient pianist.
no idea why this stuff is so expensive, the parts, the material, none of it warrants the price apart from not many people needing these in the first place.
Half of the cost comes from the Brook Board basically. The Bridget is only 100$, which is basically the same thing but only for PC/PS4/Switch. You're paying for the premium of being able to play in a PS5

I believe 130$ if you want to buy their PCB that is compatible with PS5, and I think they are the only ones that sell such a board. An that's just the fighting board, not the case, buttons, switches and other components (That, yeah, aren't worth much. But it adds up). That's why I mention the Bridget, which is almost the same thing, same switches and everything for 100$, just not compatible with PS5. Cheapest I've seen someone sell a controller based on the Flatbox with Kailh Switches was one form Aliexpress for 70$.
I always sucked at fighting games because of the way I lose orientation of the sticks and d-pad, but ever since I used these... It came naturally to me like a muscle memory. Everything is direct. There's very little error on directional movements and the dashes are bellissimo

@@momo.ru-kun sorry but the technology for using only buttons for fighting games were available wen they first released in arcades it would have been cheaper to manufacture buttons over a stick so why did they not use buttons originally? because its not how the game is supposed to be played and the games fundamentals in design carry through to every modern day fighting game and still exist in the structure from decades ago keyboards were never meant to be used with fighting games and the only reason this is a thing now is because the game came out on pc and they would get flack for not being able to use basic pc peripherals for a game released on pc. that is it. marketing and ceo's that dont give a fck about the integrity of the game now days would have said who cares we make more money if we release it on pc. if these games were ever intended to work on keyboard/hitbox the ↘ input wouldn't exist.
225 is pretty expensive at that point I think I rather spend the extra and go for the razer kitsune. Although with that $45 coupon code it's a bit more reasonable.
This might be the one I try. Having grown up playing in arcades and with gamepads, I’m unsure of whether I’ll be able to adapt to the differences. Oh well probably can’t suck much worse at SF6 than I do already😅

You could probably put artwork on the top like a giant vinyl sticker. Tbh I just put a couple stickers on the top and called it a day. Maybe they’ll release an artwork version with a clear top in the future

Play on pc. Can bring any controller you want. $50 flatbox hit box with a sub 1ms open source rp2040 is where its at. no idea why sony decided to lock down their console
The problem here is Brook PCB are very expensive, the PS5 PCB is 130$ alone, if you want to buy quality buttons like sanwas it's 40$ more so it's already 170$. Then you have to buy wire harnesses for 15-20$ this adds up to 190$ if you want to DIY and use a shoebox for free. If you want to 3D print your box let's say 12$ if it weigh 500g. By doing it yourself it will cost around the same price as this controller. And that's why when you go on etsy you will find expensive Hitboxes. People don't make alot of money when selling a hitbox for 250-300$ trust me I tried selling some custom made hitboxes in my region and just making them is very expensive.
