Wow what fantastic memories this brings back. My first flight from Manchester / England to Edmonton was in 1980 to visit family up north. Since then I've been back in 1989 and 1995 and was looking forward to my final visit this year but because of this Coronavirus its all cancelled. I'm hoping things will be ok to make the trip next summer. I never get over the vast space and how flat the area is, simply amazing.

It was really cool to see the view from the plane and see the neatly arranged houses below. and I can see fields of beautiful yellow Canola flowers greeting from England
At 1:00 I can see the Callingwood neighbourhood where I live including Callingwood Mall where the Safeway store and Shoppers Drug Mart is located, the three apartment towers at West Edmonton Village, Archbishop Oscar Romero High School, Jamie Platz YMCA, Callingwood Recreation Centre, Lois Hole Public Library , the large empty sports field along 178 street and the large wooded area to the east. Of course the very large West Edmonton Mall can also be seen to the north of Whitemud Drive. I alsocan see most of Jasper Place including the Misericordia Hospital and the two apartment towers just east of it. I can even see the diagonal length of Mayfield Road to the north where Mayfield Common is located.
An excellent video. I've never been to Edmonton but hope to be able to go in September for the Edmonton Expo. Good thing the runways are long; that pilot landed pretty hot (i.e., very fast).
Not yet. Hopefully Alberta will have it's own passport soon. Under the Liberal Regime folks come and go and do as they please out east and take, take, take, especially Quebec. Priemer Smith will deliver the Golden Oracle and thy will be done. God Bless Alberta, Wild Rose Country.
I’ve been watching a lot of landing videos from around the world…. This is one of the very prettiest views.

Regrettably, the Edmonton Fan Expo was cancelled for this year but I am hopeful it will go on again in 2021....and if it does, I'm going!

I will be there I.a
This airport should be called leduc airport since it's nowhere near Edmonton lol.
Yeah, lol, it's another "countryside outside the city" airport. In 3:08, you can see sheep in that field
Population 975,000.
Metro area about 1.4 million.
Now about 1.5 million
E town....
