That is one of the best portable BBQ that I've seen. Thank you for the fantastic review, the price is ok because it is made of cast iron. I've had my cast iron BBQ for over 20 years and they are still going strong. This BBQ looks perfect for cooking a big old cowboy T bone steak and it is nice that you can extinguish the fire out once you are done. Nice one mate.
Seeing this brought back memories of summer camping trips in US National parks in the 1980's. My father always brought one of when we went on our summer trips. There's nothing better than burgers straight off the grill with the panorama of Yellowstone as a backdrop.
I have this same grill but from the 80's . It was purchased new from my stepdad. It hasn't been used since. It survived many trash disposal from hurricanes.
Had mine for years, its brilliant. The legs mean that it is raised of the ground. The only issue I have is that the handle on the top piece on mine had got old from the heat and has broken. It doesn't see possible to get a replacement. Looks like they have updated it since. I would also recommend removing the ash tray while cooking as the grills are at a slight incline and if you food rolls off, that's where its going to end up.

Just a note, perhaps once the coals are all lit and the unit is opened, take the coals used in the starter tray to ignite the other coals sand put them on either side in order not waste. interesting product with an interesting lighting method for sure. the portability is nice and it seems this would work well for 2 person meal and the "snuff out" feature is interesting. however i think there was some instructions overlooked or something when dealing with the bag part of it. the closing and suffocating of the coals should be fine by itself. but i dont know how anything could pass a safety inspection by putting a still very hot item in what looked like an insulated and padded bag that would only retain the heat for longer. logically the grill would be left to choke and cool until it was in the low 100 degree F range then slipped into the bag to be safe to handle.
IIRC the manufacturer says that you're supposed to let it cool down for 30 minutes after closing it for extinguishing before putting it into the pouch, but that may be "just to make sure", for legal coverage reasons. What are your experiences with it, does the pouch show any signs of heat damage from putting it into it right away?

@@chrisgallagher4031 Mine was found at a discount tool store for $30. You shouldn't have a problem finding one online. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for them though. I've already cooked on mine the day I bought it, they work surprisingly well for a mini grill.
Not sure how you could make that statement if you have ever used it. I have and consider it the best hibachi ever. Especially when you consider it is also a space heater which I too have used and kept warm all night after using it cook a meal.
