- In this video I'm going to show you how I set up the C4-S Portable Grill for the Steak Cookoff Association. This is the exact same way I grilled my steak at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas this year and qualified for the Steak Cook-off World Finals in October.
The C4-S Portable Grill is an all stainless steel kickass little charcoal grill. It's perfect for camping, tailgating, small families, and competition grilling! It's all American Made and built to last!
You can purchase your C4-S Portable Grill here.

Nice compact grill Travis!
Awsome video
Appreciate it!
Thank you!
Nice Video ...
Good Grill For Competition
Damn it Travis! Now you have me watching more videos on this grill after our talk this weekend for my daughter... Anyone one else reading this, SCA is great fun and great people! A true family. If you like grilling, you need to check it out.
Great Job
Hey. Great vid. Top tip, if you turn the knot twice it will tighten and not slip and allow you to tie the second without holding it. Hope to see you in fort worth for WC next year.
Cooking a double in a couple weeks with my new C4 (SCA) grill...Looking forward to the results. Sold my PK and converted solely based on what I've heard and your videos. I think it will cook great. Thanks for the videos.
Looks like you need a smaller chimney.
Hey great video Travis! I have all of the equipment and I even have that exact cutting board bro! lol I am SERIOUSLY thinking about trying the SCA next year. It just looks like a lot of fun. And I just got my over-under from you guys last week too. Maybe I can catch up with you guys sometime and put in some work...
Thank you! Oh the SCA is a lot of fun. Im hooked on it. Great people grilling badass steaks and enjoying life. Can't beat it!
Pretty interesting my buddy!! Bad to the Bone man.. : ) cheers 🍻
Subbed to you... can’t wait to see other vids
looks good. but why do you guys lose out on 90 percent of the crust . more than half the steak is gray
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and buy one. I love the design.
Love my C4. Next time use manual focus when shooting a fixed position like you were when prepping the steak.
Good video. I would like to see blacker sear marks on the steak. Is it hard to get the grill above 500 degrees? Is this because the lid was not used? Why only one air vent? Only having one vent, does it get enough oxygen to get temps into the 600-700 range? How is this grill better than the the Weber go anywhere grill (besides being able to take a 20 lbs weight dropped on it)? Yours is constructed better and looks cooler but does it do a better job at grilling? I'm not trying to knock your grill, I'm trying to find ways to justify the purchase. Please educate me and make more videos using this grill. Thanks!
Thank you for the message. You can definitely get darker sear marks. This was just one steak and more about showing the actual grill and how to use it for steak competitions rather than focusing on the steak itself. Especially since so many people cook different ways for their steaks. You can definitely get the grill grates hotter. 650 degrees is very easy, especially depending on the charcoal used. Due to its small size, it really only needs 1 vent. The air flows through the bottom and out the top. The Weber Go Anywhere is a fine grill, but there are some big differences. Smaller, more portable. Thicker steel thats all 304 stainless with stainless handle. No plastic parts. The C4-S cooks amazing and should last forever. We will put more videos out soon with the C4-S! We are just getting started.
@@Mgrills Thanks for the reply. Being able to get higher temps is a must for me. I can't wait to see more cooks using this grill!

@@Mgrills Awesome! Trying to join now (pending)!
Really enjoyed watching this video are does wood cutting board from mgrills?
Thank you! The cutting board in this video is not an M Grills board.
Wanted to get one of these due to because it Mm portable, even I already have few grills. Added to cart with a few accessories like shown in the video plus $40 shipping was over $500. Looked up for some discount code found nothing, then I closed my web browser. Always tried to support some local businesses but often got ripped off.16g 304 ss not even some kind of expensive metal.
Hello Wayne, I see the cart order you put in and you did add all of the upgrades and a few accessories including the 1/4" stainless steel grates, Grill Grate panels, Stainless Steel Grate removing tools, and the all stainless steel 'Over-Under' Accessory for the C4-S. All are very good upgrades for the C4-S for the Steak Cookoff Association. The price to make these products with materials and labor is not cheap. I can assure you that. Sorry you feel like you are being ripped off, but everyone of these products will last you for MANY years and are not mass produced. Have a great day.
Does the over under fit the original C4?
Unfortunately it does not. The newer C4 design is much wider than the original C4.
I really wanted a C4 recently, but after watching several videos of it cooking steaks, I think my $80 Americana Swinger Grill does a better job with the addition of "Grill Grates"... And that Pam? Ew....
“Why add grillmarks, if you can get that beautiful crust all over te steak?” Is a quote from Amazingribs. I like the whole grill setup, but using an aerosol on your food.. that’s not taking yourself seriously. That is one step away from microwaving your meat.
This is only a method we use in steak cooking competitions. The purpose of spraying the steak directly with a cooking oil or spraying the grates is to keep seasonings from sticking to the GrillGrate panels which are 500 to 600 degrees. The appearance of the steak is part of the scoring and judges look for perfect grill marks. It's not something I do every time I cook steaks, only for competition where all these little things matter.
He does mention he won a golden ticket which means he has competed in the world championships. Meaning he can hook a better steak than you sunshine ;)
That little grill looks like it’s built like a tank.
Over 300 bucks for that tiny grill, that's pk grill territory starting prices.
The C4-S starts at $250. Sometimes even a PK is too large for your needs. You can fly with the C4 or strap on the back of a motorcycle like our customers do. This is also 16 gauge 304 stainless steel.
@@Mgrills
The reason I said over three hundred was with the tax, add on the grill grates $30, add on the grill removal tool $35, add on over/under $70, upgrade to 1/4 304 stainless $30 and your staring down the barrel of over $400 for an over engineered bbq, that barely fits in a charcoal chimney.
I'll stick with a PK that's been around since the 50's...
@@Tops1212 You do that. And we will stick with making all of our grills in the US even if it costs us more money. We completely support American Made products.
@@Mgrills 100%
Pam, I can't believe it's not butter, wtf.
NEVER USE A PRESS ON A STEAK UNLESS U WANT A DRY STEAK. THATS SO DUMB. NEVER USE A PRESS
We use a light press to keep the steak from curling to ensure perfect sear marks that go edge to edge. The press in no way drys out the steak.
A lil overpriced
tanto lio para hacer un bife...
There are exactly ZERO "new" grills that are worth buying these days because Weber perfected that DECADES ago. I just laugh at these guys paying serious money for for TOY grills like these.
