Such an inspiring person for us. I mean for all young ladies who work in the scientific field.

Oh, that's a quite sexist approach. As a young "man" who works in the scientific field I am inspired as well. So... yeah.

@@yasin.md00 & @Khongorzul Odgerel, could you agree on that this is inspring for *young scientists* in general, no matter their gender or other background?!? I don't see a need to underline the sex or gender that oneself belongs to in the context of this. Thank you!

@@stefanuttenthaler4814 This is actually the first Nobel prize that is just awarded to women without sharing it with a male. This is significant in establishing and encouraging women in STEM!

What was really novel was the discovery of the CRISPR mechanism in archea, whithout it no CRISPR technique would be possible today. In any of both lectures there is any mention to Francis Mojica who was the discoverer of it. Francis can explain CRISPR in a way that can be understood not only by no biologists or chemists but even by children.

This technology can repair DNA - so can this technology one day repair the imperfections introduced in the ageing of cells, and extend life expectancy? Elixir of life?
