This video is probably more fun than the series was! And your notes are probably more coherent than that "Journal of Elanor Druse" (if that's the name, I can't recall!) or maybe not. Anyway, like I said this video is more fun!
I remember watching this with my mom and both of us wondering if King had fallen off the wagon... He hadn't but Christ I wanted to find a wagon and fall off it... this was bad and honestly I think you would have been better off covering all the Children of the Corn movies than this. (and that is saying something because even the first CotC wasn't very good)
I have seen Lars von Triers original ”Riget” numerous times. Love that show so much, have never seen Kingdom Hospital more than the first two episodes, it felt like they were way off with what actually made Riget enjoyable, listening to your video it seems like they mostly dropped or changed most of the different story arcs from Riget. Which is sad. A Twin Peaks style show set in an hospital that is literally placed on top of a parallel universe seemed like something that King would have slayed. Probably not going to watch Kingdom Hospital then, but i wish that more people saw the original Riget instead. It’s only 8 episodes. Pure gold, but skip the remake/sequel series that is seen as ”Season 3”, which was made 20 years later
Haha, thank you! I think you can safely skip the tie-in novel. I remember bits of the first couple of episodes - I liked the anteater, who I think spoke in hipster slang, and the great character actor Julian Richings played a janitor...?
@@DaveReadsKing (me, looking up Rammstein photos) I think I see the guy - sort of lank black hair, side part? Yes - Richings is really slender and he has an amazing profile - he played Death a few years later on 'Supernatural.'

So is Riget the same as The Kingdom? I’ve seen the latter on a few streaming services
I watched Kingdom Hospital with my oldest son when it first came out. It was such a bonding experience. It’s still one of our favorites.
