That can be done with LPR camera. Works well but not cheap

When I follow the steps and press the button of the remote I want to delete, the gate just opens and the remote is not deleted; has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way I can check the remote's ID to delete it that way?

Have you tried uncoupling the motor (set gate to manual) before doing this? Just a thought. Not sure if that'll work.
