The game is great and you can play a very sizeable part of it for free, it is also being tuned to be able to be played through as an "online solo game" if you so desire a little bit more with each update. What never ceases to amaze me is the amount of art in this game / franchise. The artbooks, as shown are stunning and there's also the muscial side of the FF universe. There are a lot of soundtrack albums, with more getting released on a regular basis. The team takes great pride in their writing (story arcs and quests) and as one might expect of a high profile japanese game, the voice acting top notch (international voice actors, although I can only vouch for the french ones, also have great delivery). There's a lot to like for the artistically inclined, and that's before you even think about playing the game.
Reading through the Eorzea Encyclopedia is like going through a D&D setting, what with the ridiculous amount of backstory, lore, and culture piled in those books.
I absolutely love FF14. That being said I’ve only played a few hours when the remake came out. I honestly would love to dive into all of it but I don’t think I’d ever have the time. Between work, family life, and other games it just seems to sizable to jump into. Maybe one day I’ll be able to but for now I just admire it from afar.

Yeah, in situations like ours, from a safe distance is always the better choice!
Impresive. Sure you could show some more FF art.
