Metal Machine EZX : Making Of (Expansion for EZdrummer)

- Toontrack went to Los Angeles' Henson Recording Studios together with British star producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Exodus) and drummer John Tempesta (White Zombie, Helmet, Exodus) to record some of the heaviest drums in the history of the company. Tag along and and see what happened behind the scenes!
Years later and this is still my favorite EZX!!
On July 13 1968, Black Sabbath played their first gig at a small blues club in Birmingham. 43 years later Toontrack brought Andy Sneap, another British gentleman hailing from the area, to Los Angeles to record this piece of precious metal!
Metal Machine EZX : Making Of (Expansion for EZdrummer)
John Tempesta kicks ass! Bronx NY in the house!
Bought EZ drummer 2 and got this free with it, SO in love with it !
bakerXderek do you have another channel for your music? I watch your motovlogs and see you commenting on lol kinds of music videos
Great job with this plugin. I was never totally happy with the regular EZ drummer and DFH sounds but these seem to have this kind of extra punch I was always missing and I also like the longer sample arrangements that give a more dynamic sound and of course I can still shorten them if needed. Also makes things easier for me as a non-drummer so it doesn't take ages for me anymore to create a drumtrack for my compositions.
i recently got this, it's amazing, the snares are great!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant isn't it. A guy spends years collecting seriously tasty vintage drums, and now we can have them all at our fingertips via a simple plugin. You've got to love the digital age.
Red seas fire in the background, amazing music!
awesome
Scorpions In Trance Shirt = Awesome
They are not only recording midi tracks, this is a sample pack for their drum software.
theyre playing red seas fire under the talking in the beggining, the songs called cipher
Oh no Toontrack, looks like ill be replacing all the drums on my tracks all over again :D
damn Tempesta is a solid good drummer.very professional.he also looks cool. Even his voice sounds good u gotta admit.
muy bueno genial
0:30 nice shirt dude ;)
omg, INTRO Song pls?
@sunnyjim98 Dude, its John Tempesta man!
@neo69hk the last song on the video is Cipher from Red Seas Fire. I have no idea what the first song is.
Literally $8000 worth of snares! Worth price of admission. After recording some real drummers and drumkits, my own personal settings for this kit (for the onboard mixer): Kick Drums (Tama Starclassic Bubgina, +12db), Snare T/B (JT Signature, +12db), Ambience (+0db), MonoRoom (+12db), everything else OFF. This gives the kit a natural 4-mic feel. You can get a more tight and dry sound if you want if you're doing more extreme stuff, but I prefer the above settings for that "mainstream" hard rock and metal sound.
Whats the song in the beginning? Before they start talking? Its not Red Seas Fire?
@ArtificialFlavaFTB2
i've got the DFH and the MEtalheads, and Metal machine is the new expansion from metalheads wit new presets, very very nice :D
The songs at the beggining is call Cipher from Red Seas Fire ?
why i search on youtube is not the same song ?
anyone knows ?
thank you
What's the first song playing it's sick!
what is the name of the song starting at 4:53?
The song is Cipher by Red Seas Fire, Nolly’s old band
I ordered this like 10min ago \m/
I just ordered this, and I am going around trying to see what everyone thinks. Looks like I made a great purchase \m/ o_O \m/
Hey that's Adrian working with John.......
how are these installed into ezdrummer2?
What's the song on the begging? It's fucking sick!
4:53 WHAT SONG IS THAT?
song of the intro? D:
Red Seas Fire! Fuck yes!
@ElvenElfofMetal an obvious question. The answer is yes, there is an option for that.
when i first saw that drummer i thought he looked like a massive poser, but he knows his shit!
John Tempesta = Dave Gahan
Will try to lay my hands on this expansion fosho! Just a question. The last song. What is that?
@1Kubowy beggining*
@vstman Cipher by Red Seas Fire.
@xenokx Thats what I want to know!!
I am a newbie, can anyone tell me how the quality of the sound is important when they are doing only MIDI tracks rather than samples?
Holy shit! I didnt know Lorenzo Lamas played drums. Amazing!
I dont know yet what the "Metal!" expansion has achieved..but so far ..as a person who owns the dfh, metalheads, foundry AND metal machine..beliv me when i say..this is the best expansion kit..in all respects..sure foundry has more options..but metal machine is the easiest to mix...but then..foundry provides more options for uniqueness..
Metal Machine is the EZX, and a lot of processing has been done on the samples. That's great if someone else's choice of processing is what you want. Metal Machinery is the SDX, and there is far less processing done to the samples, leaving far greater options down the road.
i came here expecting to hear "the crazy snare man" playing a little.... but that never happened, the talked all the video...
4:55 red seas fire? what du fack?
Dude really,Loose the scorpions shirt :)!!!(just kidding)
they recorded a shit load of single hits which you can control via midi, so also with your e-kit, saves you about 5000 bucks in recording equipment :)
$5000 wouldn't even buy all the mics for this library. Not even close.
Most odd strain of comments on this...
Metal Machinery, for me, is the most limited SDX that Toontrack has released. Love Andy Sneap and Tempesta and Toontrack, but they kinda faceplanted with Metal Machinery.
Just my opinion, of course.
For me, Progressive Foundry is by far the best SDX. I am in love with it.
I use this for my death metal songs, this is incredible out of the box: /watch?v=hj3YMvEDU_c
Is this a new expansion? Maybe I can get rid of shitty DFH
John Tempesta voice sounds like Brad Pitt lol
