Yes! I was at La Libertad Point (Punta Roca) in El Salvador 2.5 months in summer 1974. My friend I went there with was then picked up by one of our friend who was a Panama native, I stayed in El Salvador but they drove back to US and stopped in and surfed Puerto, hardly anyone knew of it then and they shared like you....single fins, heavy hitting barrels, unlike anything he said until he moved to the North Shore of Oahu.
@@LuisGonzalez-qp1tp That's what made it so nice, surfing at punta rocca with just myself and one friend at times. Other times maybe a handful of people, much nicer vibe than the kook show You see in the lineups nowadays.

I'm sure many people love it that I appreciate the surf videos like the ones done by "off da lip" of pipeline mostly that just have the natural sound of the ocean. Would love to hear these waves cracking at Puerto Escondido as opposed to this person noodling around on a guitar solo.
unless you know you have very good taste in music, you should just leave the raw ocean sounds. Also don't do cut after cut of ride after ride. Show some of the paddle out, the paddling for waves. Show the surroundings, capture the atmosphere of the place. Look at youtube channel Surfers of Bali they do surf videos the right way

Good grief man. Big wave spots are supposed to be challenging but Puerto Escondido seems like it wants to smash surfers, grind their remains into a fine talcum-like powder, and bury them out at sea where they'll never be seen or heard from again.

It is said at the Mexican Pipeline during swell, not hardly a day goes by an experienced surfer gets injured.
I stayed there for a year and I saw many casualties, granted most appeared to be drunk tourists.
It was a great place to live by the way.
