Freedom Shields are some of the best out there and the company is solid. Great support and easy to work with and absolutely outstanding customer support. I’ve had three different models and currently rocking this same touring 8” on my old FLHTCI. 🤜🏼
Have the 10 inch on my 24 Road Glide, best in the market, I'm 5"8, no buffing, hear the upgraded radio much better and great customer service! I have a Klock Werks on another bike, Freedom hands down!
This shield works great for blocking the wind above the handlebars. I have one and it’s great. It elevates the airflow to a higher area above your head. Now the real buffeting comes from the bottom half of the Road King fairing and the crash bar engine cooler boxes. You can verify this by placing your feet/legs on the cooling boxes and the bottom of the fairing when riding at speed.
I bought a Freedom Shield for my 22 Heritage and loved it. It was even suggested by my HD dealer. I bought a 12" HD shield for my 24 Road Glide but am considering a Freedom Shield because I liked the flair without distortion .
In 2007 I bought a Sportster. I thought I had to have the dealership do my first oil change and look the bike over to keep my useless 1-year warranty valid. What a fool I was, but that's a story for another time. Anyhow, while there they told me they would get me in when they could. It was 9 AM in the morning. Problem was, I was 140 miles from home at that time and I rode my bike there. I finally used my credit card and rented a brand-new Street Glide for the day and rode around most of the day. Since then, I've wanted a Street Glide because it was like sitting in a car going down the highway. Zero buffeting and sooooo quiet. It had the stock windscreen on it.
Thanks, Ben! Yeah, the new one definitely doesn't have the more-defined spoiler... but the airflow definitely feels better. Stay tuned - next Monday's video is a follow-up to this one, with some interesting results from this install...
Today I ordered a 9" touring dark smoke, I'm looking forward to trying it out. I've tried 3 other windshields, I was ok with the Klockwerks 8.5? but my wife hated it, she said it beat her to death. If you ride 2 up make sure you ride with the passenger too!
Good call! I don't ever carry a passenger, but I can certainly see how the windshield would make a difference! I hope you love your new shield as much as I love mine!
I actually ordered a new windshield from Freedom Shield for my 2022 Indian Super Chief that should be coming in later this week! I am so excited to see and feel the difference! Also interested to see how it handles Illinois cicadas!
I got the 9” touring shield. It still has more buffeting than I like especially around the ears. That said it is way better than the Klock Werks that was previously on the bike. Looks like you had a better result with your Freedom shield. BTW my ride is a 2017 CVO Limited.
Wow - how tall are you? I felt like the buffeting off my previous windshield was like yours - and it was taller than the Freedom Shields windshield I installed.
@@mrnonpc9885 Yeah, that tracks with 1" taller than mine... not sure why you'd get so much buffeting. If you can, try the Touring model, maybe the extra wings really help with that?
I just checked. 1 hour 17 min drive. A perfect distance for a quick road trip. Drive there, get a windshield, grab lunch and then drive back. By the time I’m home I’ll know if it was worth it. !!! Do u like the touring flares still! From the video I couldn’t decide if I would like them or not.
@@scott2228 I LOVE the touring flares! Sure, it makes for a WIDE windshield, but I'll be darned if it isn't many times more comfy on the highway than previous windshields I tried. You might want to call them before heading out - they build the shields on-demand, so it can be a couple of weeks until it's ready.
I emailed them. Will see if they respond. What height are you? What length windshield did you go with? I remember u said long torso. At 6’0” I’m thinking 8”. 🤷♂️
If there were roads around here where the speed limit was that high, I would've... but I did listen to some footage where I was doing 70 and talking over comms, and you can clearly hear my speaking in the audio... and it was very comfortable at those speeds.

That's the exact same experience I've had with them so far - thanks for letting me know it's not just me! And thanks for watching :D
Freedom shields are my goto for windshields. I hope ot serves you well.
Thanks, Eric! I hope so too :D

Thanks for the info! Do you have the fork fangs on your RK? I hear those block a lot of the wind that comes up at you.

I saw that shield for the 24s - I bet that distortion is distracting!
@@RoadReality it is, I just might look tonight.
It’s a good looking windshield and I knew the “wings” would work well for you. Very nice!
Thanks! Wings - that's a good term for them :D
Freedom Shields are fantastic
Yeah, it really is - and the company is great to work with, too!
Nice! I like that touring model! You are gonna love it!
So far I'm loving it! Thanks for the inspiration to reach out to them! :D
I have a 2021 Street Glide and I have the Klock Werks flare it’s a game changer I go from Jersey to South Caroline no buffering
That's awesome! Klock Werks is good stuff!
My 2024 Road Glide Freedom Shields Windshield is great 👍
Awesome!

That's a cool story - I don't know of any places around here that rent out bikes :( Glad you didn't have any wind issues!
I’m selling mine. 22 street glide with the 107. I’m in CA
the Freedom shields looks like it has a nicer tint but the older one had a better spoiler. Nice review dude!

Good deal 👌 John
Thanks, Larry!

Your Beard shows the wind bruddah man
HAHA, yeah... but it doesn't take much to flip the beard up!
I live in Denver so a CO company sounds appealing for my Street Glide.
Yeah, I bet you could just pop in and see them! They're great folks.

Look at you, wrenching on your bike, AWESOME..
HAHA, thanks! If that counts as wrenching, I guess. Simple bolt-on :D
@@RoadReality Yes it counts.. Made me smile.. YOU CAN DO IT

2019 Road Glide Special in Bilard blue
And it's a fantastic-looking bike!
the faster you go the bigger the bubble, great in the rain at highway speeds...
Good to know, thanks!
If you ever worked on a Harley, that T-27 is necessary 😃👍
LOL, 100%!
Looks pretty cool. Did you have to adjust your audio settings in the editor?
Funny enough... I did. Check back next week, I did a whole video on it :D
Freedom Shields are the best
I'm on a 93 ultra classic
Nice bike! What color?
Nothing like a great windshield and caffeine lol.
You got that right! :D
Putting down the miles lol😊
LOL, not me. Just riding when I can. Not all of us have no kids at home to take care of ;)
Do this review at 80mph
These 35-60mph reviews do no justice

Instead of pleaxis I use slipstreamer a lot cheaper does the same just as good
Oh, good call! Thanks for the tip!
Hm.. what is the not appropriate word for leaning?
I have no idea...
you won't crack that shield, they contacted me about mine and said no way will it crack .....JB..
Awesome!
It's a ratchet john
Thanks for the clarification :D
They didn’t want it to get scratched during shipping 🥹
Maybe... that's probably a side benefit!
