    Thanks for the info but for the price, I'll stick with the MightyMax 100 Watt panels as they already come with the MC-4 connectors. The only thing the HF units have extra are the legs. Which aren't worth the $21 extra. Yes it is the difference between mono and poly but the MM units I know will put out the full 100 Watts.

If u only need a tool every now and then...im not spending 300 bucks on a power tool w a big brand name and harbor freight power tools...that actually last for years...are 20 to 60... can't lose. I'd rather buy 2 tools that are the same from freight than 1 from a huge overpriced brand name. My Milwaukee circular saw (hometown)...was little under 300. It's awesome yeah. I actually prefer seeing panels being tested in average or even bad conditions with a lot of clouds.
    Too many show panels under perfect sun conditions with hardly a cloud in sight, which is nice to see but it's also nice to see how they perform when things are not that optimal.
    I also have to say, the performance considering the panel at first was facing the opposite direction on a very cloudy day and still getting 17 watts off 1 panel isn't too bad.

    Amazing and great video brother, just some clarification this is a 12v not a 24v panel, per the specs "18v typical, 22v open circuit" this is the standard for a 12v panel which has to be higher than 14v to properly charge the battery. A 24v panel as an Open Circuit of around 46v and a nominal voltage of 36v. Keep up the great work man love the vids.

      do you think this panel will charge a GoLabs 300 watt solar generator or will it make it error out because it is too much power? Hobotech said that the GoLabs can take up to 22.6 volts, but I don't know if that means Open Circuit or Max Capacity Volts.

    • @TomCee53
      @TomCee53 2 роки тому

      @@kimhughes530 I would not expect that to be a problem. Open circuit means not connected. As soon as you connect to your charger, it loads it to 18 volts full sun.

    Good Vid.... Great starter (learning) panel. Very inexpensive way to learn to build and use a solar system. One might consider purchasing peripheral components such as a charge controller from other internet sources at much lower costs. These panels are priced well when you consider shipping from other suppliers. A 24V system is much preferred over a 12V when pricing an inverter.

    On your video you say this is a 24V but it is a standard 12V panel. Right on Harbor freight website this panel is 18v Max and 20V open circuit. All solar panel that are rated at 12V panels are rated this way. A 24V panel is actually 33.5 Volts max and 39.66V open circuit volts. Even those little 1.5 watt battery saver solar panels for your car are 17 to 18v nominal. But are still considered a 12V solar panel.
