It's more like watching my grandma make bread, not watching a scientist with an experiment. Our ancestors baked bread daily and never used fancy scales and expensive tools. I just saw your recipe for starter. Now I have to get some unbleached floor. I'll get this recipe too. You wouldn't believe the recipes I've heard, and tried to make starter and then sourdough bread, and I'm not kidding you, it was almost impossible! Your starter is so easy sounding! I love this recipe. I started with it and then added on all them fancy sourdough steps one at a time. It made the process far less overwhelming & I got to see what eat step does to the final product. Thank you Mary!
I haven’t tried this one yet but I think it may be next. I love your every day loaf. It was perfect for this sourdough beginner. I also make a weekly batch of your easy hamburger buns. My husband loves them. I make one change to the original recipe and that is to sub sourdough starter for 1/4 cup of water.
I'm nstill new to the freshly milled flour making, its great to know recipes that I can just put together a loaf of bread like used to but still include my new favorite multivitamin (aka freshly milled wheat berry wonderfulness in some form or another).

Honestly I just use a shea moisture soap and jergens free and clear lotion. I have never done a lot with my skin. I should do better but it's just not something I ever had a good routine of doing. Thank you!
I'm using Rye flour instead of wheat and APF. It's proofing now, -can't wait to see how it turns out. I also put in Caraway seed and dill weed. Maybe you can come up with a Rye bread of that's also easy, thank you.

I noticed you didn't spray it with a little water before you put the lid on it and it turned out okay. If I remember right on the other video of first time artisan loaf you spray it a little but I forget why.
Mary, how do you clean your bowl and utensils of the of the sour dough without it going down the drain. I have different things but wondered it there was an easier way.

I live similar to Mary, am 60 and have just realized in the last ten years you don't have to go by recipe instructions and can change things each time you make something to suit your needs for the day or week. She is helping others learn so they don't waste years trying to be perfect, but to enjoy making things their own. She is a blessing by sharing her gifts that the Lord has given her...which are many.

I got them on Amazon. They come in a set with spoons as well.

I usually put some water in the bowl and clean it with my hands along with the utensils and then go pour it in the compost before washing.

Sorry, the crumb tells us that it’s underfermented with variating big holes and very dens areas!! So it’ll not be a good alternative for me.
