I m glad you all agreed that there is not much difference between Nature worship and Idol worship. We transformed our worship practices to Idol worship so as to give some tangible existence to our beliefs to whom we ultimately want to rely upon. It’s human trait to have a confidante!

इस प्रकार की आलोचना के लिए बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद। बेद काल के बाद जब मूर्ति पूजा की समय आई , तो विद्वान व्यक्तियों ने इसे साइंस के साथ जुड़ा दिया था । अब देखिए , हर गांव में ग्राम देवी प्रतिष्ठित हे ( Odisa में तो हे,अन्य राज्य की मुझे पता नहीं) । परंपरा हे की ग्राम देवी की अगुरु , चुआ,चंदन , जायफल , कर्पूर, सिंदूर आदि से माजना यानेकी , मूर्ति में एक लेप दिया जाता है । भक्त उसी मूर्ति से कुछ सिंदूर लाके अपनी घर की हर दरवाजे की ऊपरी हिस्सा में लगा देता है , ये सोच के --की मा की आसीरबाद मिलेगी । हर ग्राम देवी की मूर्ति एक बिसिस्ट पत्थर से निर्माण होता हे। जब इन सब चीजों को उस पत्थर की मूर्ति से घर्षण किया जाता है तो उसमें एक Chemical Reaction होता हे। जब व्यक्ति दिन भर अपनी घर की हर दरवाजे से बार बार आता जाता हे तो उस सिंदूर की गंध उस की शरीर की अंदर जाता है श्वास की प्रभाव से। जब कोई व्यक्ति मानसिक रूप से रोगी हो , तो उस गंध से उसे लाभ होता हे और दो चार महीनों में ओ ठीक हो जाता हे , एकाग्र भाव आ जाता हे ।
हिंदी सिनेमा OMG में दर्शाया गया है कि हिंदू लोग बेकार में ही सीबलिंग पर दूध चढ़ाते है। मगर उस में भी साइंस हे। सिबलिंग एक बिशेस प्रकार की पत्थर से बनाया जाता हे। और सीब मंदिर की सैली भी अलग प्रकार की होता हे । दिन में सूर्य देव की प्रभाव से उस लिंग का प्रभाव कम हो जाता हे। उस प्रभाव को बनाए रखने के लिए लिंग में दूध, माखन , जायफल, कर्पूर , नारियल का पानी , बेल पत्र, इत्यादि का घर्षण किया जाता हे । संक्रांति की दिन सूर्य का प्रभाव पृथ्वी पर थोड़ा कम होता हे ।इसलिए उस दिन ये सब घर्षण ज्यादा करना पड़ता है । ये सब चीजों की लिंग से घर्षण की कारण उस रसायन एक औषधि में परिवर्तित हो जाता है। भक्त उसे भगवान की प्रसाद की रूप में खाता है , तो ये प्रसाद एंटी ऑक्सीडेंट की रूप में काम करता है । मनुष्य दिन भर जितना भी Poison ग्रहण करता है,--खाना पीना से , परिवेश से , वो सब body से निकल जाता है।
बहुत साल पहले
Reader 's Digest नाम का एक मैगजीन में एक आर्टिकल में लिखा था ,--की साउथ अफ्रीका में एक मिशनरी पादरी के पास एक पत्थर का टुकड़ा था ,अगर किसी व्यक्ति को जहरीला सांप काट देता था , तो उस पादरी ने इस पत्थर को उस दसें हुए स्थान पर लगा देने से , उस पत्थर ने शरीर से poision को खींच लेता था । बाद में उस पत्थर को गाय की दूध से डुबो देने से , उस पत्थर से poision निकल जाता था। हमारा ओडिशा का पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री स्वर्गत जानकी बल्लभ पटनायक के एक भाई थे , वो भी कभी राज्यपाल थे ( उनका नाम मुझे याद नहीं है) , उनके पास भी ऐसा एक पत्थर था । सच तो ये हे की कासी की किसी टूटे हुए सिबलिंग की एक एक टुकड़ा उन लोगों के पास था ।
जिस से उन लोगों ने चमत्कार दिखाते थे। भारत की मूर्तियों के पीछे साइंस हे ।
लोगों को ये सब पता लगेगा तो कहीं भगवान से भाव -भक्ति कम हो जाएगा ,-- इसलिए ये सब हमें छुपाया गया था। और इस भ्रम के कारण हमें OMG और PK वाले भ्रमित करते हे।
हिंदी मेरा मातृभाषा नहीं है, कहीं भूल हो तो माफ कीजिएगा ।

I think the idol puja might have been suggested by our predisessors just to concentrate our mind towards an idol ,which ultimately create a positivity of mind.By doing this and getting this positivity, we become successful in our life.
If we become successful in life after deceiving ourselves then it's not healthy.

India never had religions. It was the abode of the greatest philosophies. These philosophies were distilled to the masses so that ordinary people could cultivate wisdom and practice spirituality. Religion came with the Mohammedans. And following, Indian civilisation in the North and North-West was burned to the ground. Indians today have no idea what India used to look like, because what the Muslims wanted to do was to destroy our visual arts and architecture. North India had Rome, Vienna, Basel, Budapest, Dresden and Prague. But now there is no trace of it.

I came across an impressive lecture on Hinduism from an orthodox Christian prospective public lecture by Father innocent and I found his lecture very honest well researched. We know less about our religion than these people. I strongly recommend it. H e talk about idol worship also.A must watch for all Hindus.
Please tell him to do some videos on Quran,Hadit,GAZWA-E-HIND,Sar-tan-se-juda. Because he only focusing one sect of Belief.

Reminds me of 'The argumentative Indians'. So brilliantly written by Amartya Sen. A Nobel laureate Economist to have such well rounded wisdom. I was present in the book launch program with my dad. There Mr. Sen gave speech on his book. He can speak in Sanskrit over hours

Before that, I would like to point out the prejudiced and judgemental views you and your ilk carry about Bharat, something not expected from someone who is claiming to be brimming with logic and critical analysis. Let me give you an example.
Bharat has had Panchang or Panjika since time immemorial. Its calculations are mostly based on Surya Siddhanta, and it used to have regular updates on planetary positions. The updates stopped since Bharat was occupied, but the Panchangs continued. However, ever since NASA started publishing planetary positions, Panchangs started referencing NASA bulletins and then applying those positional readings to the calculations and charts of Surya Siddhanta to come up with Panchangs.
My point is that the strawmans argument you are trying to make about Bharat and its people, the reality is far from what you perceive, and by thinking what you think and by saying what you say, you are simply trying to pass on your own incompetence and incapability to grasp the reality as other people's fault.
It's funny that while we consider continuity and longevity as the biggest proof of quality, certain people like you don't want to extend that same logic to civilizations. Even when we buy petty thing like a pair of slippers, we first look for the brand that lasted most, because it means quality, but we don't think or feel the same way when it comes to civilisations. Now, I can understand a non-Bharatiya doing so, because such considerations would burst their myth of civilisational superiority that they have been trying establish for centuries, but seeing some of our own people demeaning our civilization's cultures and norms by making strawmans arguments is really sad. And then you complain about why people are branded as anti-nationals, even though they humiliate Bharat's civilization and culture. Well, you can't have the cake and eat it too, isn't it?
Regarding Sen, you said you attended his book launch. I don't know whether it makes you an authority on Sen or not, but I would like you to know that he sits on multiple trusts and think tanks funded and maintained by self-proclaimed haters of Bharat like Soros. You don't need to believe me on this, you can research it on your own.
Are you saying that Soros is funding research groups and think tanks who are working for the betterment of Bharat? Nah! I'm not that naive, and I guess most Bhartiyas aren't either.

Listen to discussions on Raghuram Rajan's recent book. We don't even have top ranking universities and our talented students settle in the US because our arguments are not argumentatively fought or defended. We run Google, Microsoft, Bose but not in our country. Our legendary classical musicians get honour abroad, our atheletes harassed, because dissents are repressed for sake of power. Ashok Rudra, Ashok Gulati had arguments against Sen but those were on the merit of logic. They didn't brand Sen as Jaichand. That is called educated debate. Obviously Sen or any other person alone can't hurt a country. Please read some of his books instead of branding one intellectual in the name of an ideology -that would make you an wiser person. Form logic, acquire wisdom, form opinion.

सौरभ जी just to correct your statement, मूर्ति को भगवान या देव-देवी हिन्दू भी नहीं मानते, लेकिन ईश्वर के निराकार रूप को बिना जाने अन्धकार में भक्ति करने का क्या मतलब ? अपने इस्ट-देव तक अपना भाव समर्पित करने के लिए एक संकेत, इशारा या स्वरुप का सहारा लेना ही पड़ता है । शब्द स्वयं आकर रहित है, आकाश तत्त्व है लेकिन फिर भी बालपन में A for Apple से ही हम शब्द समझते हैं, इसका मतलब ये नहीं की Apple ही A शब्द है। हिन्दू सगुन से निर्गुण के उपासक हैं, आकर से निराकार के सफर में विश्वास रखते हैं। Hence Sadguru Jaggi rightly says that this is the land of seekers (गुरसिखी/साधक) and not just believers....

अगर भगवान एक है तो उसकी भावना अलग अलग कैसे महसूस हो सकती हैं या यू कहे कि अलग अलग भावनाओं ने अपना अलग अलग भगवान बना लिया और अपने ही अज्ञान को ,अपने अंधकार को पूजे जा रहे हैं

तर्क-वितर्क और कुतर्क ! मेरे विचार में ध्यान का प्रथम स्तर ही तर्क-वितर्क से आरम्भ होकर, दूसरे में लक्ष्य, तीसरे में चित्त की अनुपस्थिति और चतुर्थ में समाधि है ! प्रथम स्तर में साधक तर्क-वितर्क में स्वंय पूर्व एवं उत्तर पक्ष होता है ! ध्यान के दूसरे स्तर में लक्ष्य की स्थापना और तीसरे में चित्त की अनुपस्थिति कर चतुर्थ में समाधि में प्रवेश करना है। परन्तु यहां कुतर्क या असंगत प्रश्नों का न कोई औचित्य है और न ही उनके उत्तर खोजने की आवश्यकता।
