In this series we're going to get to know this sports car, from it's design, its 7 liter LS7 engine, it's TR6060 transmission and everything else everyone loves and hates. I've never experienced a C6 Z06. But I own a C5 Z06. It's a 2003 model and a blast to drive!!!!
Get the Heads. Done!!!!
You can still get the 24 Camaro SS 1LE in 6spd along with a new 24 Mustang GT in 6spd as well. But the C6 Z06 is by far my favorite of the Vette lineup because it requires the driver to use actual skill to drive it fast. It has great potential on the track in the right hands. Also, have to love the factory 2 mode exhaust system where you can go from Mild to Wild if you so chose.
yup you are correct. The C6 Z06 is insanely fast stock and has crazy upgrade potential too due to displacement. The C6z is much faster even in a straight line than the C7 base Stingrays too.

The heads will NEVER be an issue unless you keep pounding the piss out of the car. The beginning of the run serial numbers had the issues. Normal driving will never develop a problem. Early heads were made in Mexico, and later cars were made in Canada. One of the best years for the Z06 with the 427 cubic inch, 7.0 liter motor. Big brother was the 1967 Corvette❤

I suggest buying those plastic syringes you can find at auto parts stores, and extracting the clutch fluid from the reservoir if you haven't done so yet.
Giving it a good wipe and then refilling the fluid a few times, with about 50 pumps of the clutch pedal after each new fluid refill. This will clean the fluid in the system decently and provide more of a solid pressure for quicker clutch operation such as during spirited drives.
Doing this 4 or 5 times is a good start, with more refill stages if your fluid is still looking dirty in the reservoir.

What type of rear spoiler is yours? I assume you had it painted stock color?
I have an 09 AO Z, and searched for three years to find it. My second choice was your Jetstream Blue. Do you have "Mild to wild" exhaust kit yet? You might like it :-) Cheers from Canada Canada
I do have the mild to wild switch, I love it as well!
I work for a GM dealer we have these quite often and would love to own one someday for now I still love my Type R

Once I decide that I'm keeping the Z06 over the ZL1, I will get the engine done.

Not yet, haven’t decided if it’s replacing my ZL1 1LE, if it does win out, I’m sending it to Katech
