It always amazes me that such a place where so much work/money was invested, just left to be slowly destroyed. I would've thought it could have been put to use by someone somewhere, and to just walk away and leave so much equipment behind wow.
Sanatoriums lost favor in western democracies beginning in the late 1970s but it really excelerated in the 1980s.by the 1990s, they fell completely out of favor. In California there were at least 12 quite large facilities for developmentally delayed, mental health patients, and those with dual diagnoses. Sanatoriums weren't hospitals in the strictest sense although doctors, nurses, and orderies worked there. By moderen standards, some were akin to horror movies: overuse of debilitating drugs, electroshock treatments, and lobotomies were not uncommon treatments. I was on one facility's human rights committee for two years, 1986 until it closed. I'm not familiar with the German facility but the Third Reich established quite a few sanatoriums. If this was one, it have a reputation that people in the area just want to forget. Many of the California facilities were simply torn down, and the memory erased.
Boy ,you have really improved on your recovery of facial muscles.
Nice view into the lost places, Good to be safe with a friend along ! two is better than one.
have a great day to the both of you and those watching!
Ceramic tile was the word for the white rectangles on the wall
What a lovely pair of intelligent young Ladies to guide us round this amazing former Military Hospital. Thank you Vanessa and Lisa. You make a Formidable Duo. 🌹🌹
A very interesting place you've found for us to accompany you on the exploration... I imagine a very uncomfortable life for the residents/patients... Thank you ladies...
There is probably a lot of asbestos on the old heating boilers and hot water pipes so you probably want to wear a mask . Plus lead in the old peeling paint so good thing you don't crawl around in there too much and stir up the dust. I am sure it was fun to explore that old abandoned place. Thanks for taking us on the tour.
I think this has to be the strangest lost place you have been to, very interesting though. Thanks again Vanessa take care 👍🙂💖
I'm amazed that there is so much valuable equipment (albeit in need of service) still in there.
Certainly a lot of scrap value!
As was I, especially in the kitchen area. Those ovens are probably still in working order.
@@SCSlimBoiseID no, they are pretty much useless and outdated. You would have to spend more money to get them running than what they are worth. The only thing of any value was that old scale.
@@Richie90090 it would cost more money to move it than it would get in scrap, that is why they left it. In the US, scrap metal prices are way down, most people only take in scrap because they need to get rid of it or off their property. You might as well get a little something if you have to get rid of it anyway.
@@mopar_dude9227 I think you're right, I wasn't really thinking of removal costs.
You are looking so much better Vanessa, good to see you getting back to normal. Looks to be such an interesting place to explore.
Vanessa is a huge influence in my understanding German....at 10:11 she said "veilleicht ein Lastenaufzug" which means "maybe a freight elevator" -- John from Minnesota
Lots of seemingly endless hallways! I did see a beautifully done stairway - high quality construction. A lot of very valuable wooden beams in sizes no longer available. An amazing amount of grafitti. Loved that still working scale. What a huge place. Thanks Vanessa and Lisa for a cool video. Note: Viel zu viele Werbespots!
Good job meine liebe, Vanessa. It's sad that the state government gave this to the city without giving them the money to maintain it. But the same thing happens here's in the U.S. Only a very large city could maintain such a hospital. It was just too much.
Such a complex would have been torn down only after a few years of vacancy here in the U.S. Americans are a very "impatient" people. Life goes on! Thank YOU and LISA for the tour!
Hi its nice to see Lisa in the video today Vanessa , the old hospital is massive and I'm amazed to find that someone could not put it into some other use , the stone art on the wall is called tiles (Fliesen) , the room with wood on the wall called be a library (Bibliothek) , it looks like you and Lisa had a good time , you didn't meet any Nazi ghosts to chase you both round the hospital 😜 .
Vanessa ♡♡♡.
Great video as always. While I mainly watch because of your bushcrafting, I do enjoy these abandoned and urban explorations you occasionally do.
I'm also glad to see you recovery is coming along so well. Take care and keep exploring.
Good to see that you’re doing well. Looking great
What stories that place must have!!! Kept waiting for the boogie man to jump out at every turn!!!! Lol Very interesting video Vanessa. I too noticed your facial expressions are coming back nicely. Keep on doing what you do.
Thank you Vanessa and Lisa. Very fascinating place to explore. I was amazed at all the graffiti but there was some serious paintings along with it. Glad you had Lisa there with you!
One thing to always consider, usually these old buildings have tons of asbestos used in the building process! I always enjoy seeing places of history like you have shown us here. Fantastic video as always! Thanks and Happy Easter!
So many beautiful doors and windows. The old wood looks really expensive also.
A great adventure. Thank you.
From the Czech Capital of the United States what a great video and the two prettiest Ladies in the world making the video Thank You it makes my year

What a fantastic adventure thank you for sharing
I am so glad you had Lisa accompany you on this video, I found this place Very Creepy! It is very important to me that you wear both a face mask 😷 & 🧤 gloves to protect from mold & germs when venturing into old places! I did find it fascinating however. I like to visit old homes etc . too. Thank you & by the way, Happy 🐣 Easter to you both.
Hello Marie! Thank you for join us! Happy easter!

Boa sorte as meninas 👍👍👍👍😍😍
Hi Vanessa, wow a very cool video! There are places like that all over America. Those places are scarier than being out in the wilderness. Your friend Lisa was a good partner to be with. Try staying the night, it would be frightening. Have fun, bye.
🙂👍 Wild Sisters of urban exploration. 😁👏👏👏👏
Very good and interesting video Vanessa , thank you for sharing
With all the metal im surprised scrapers haven't been in & strip it all out, some of it could be cleaned and sold as it is
Not a lot of meth heads in Bavaria yet, so the metal is safe.
Happy easter
Greetings from Oregon USA sister, Vanessa you are amazing beautiful adventurous intelligent woman thank you for sharing your life with us
Neat place to explore, shame the vandals have trashed it. Hello Lisa! 😀

Hey Miss Venessa the American word for the white squares and the green ones are know as ceramic tile. It comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. Glad to see you doing well and I enjoy your videos. Take care.

Good to see you have a friend with you. That place looks creepy. They should have renovated it and repurposed it.
Thanks Vanessa for taking us along interesting exploration the hospital was pretty big I can imagine how it was when it was in full service, ¿question who weighed more? 😂😂it was nice to see you had company makes us feel that you're safe thanks for your hard work and be safe hugs for you and Famaliy🙏🙏🙋🙋
Some of the graffiti was very well done. I love the way you say "abandoned."
wooow, amazing
Thank you Richard!
that was a fun walk, abandoned buildings are very interesting
Very interesting and some of the painted wall murals were creepy, but intriguing. I imagine if you go back during a dark night it will be much more scary 😁
Well that was interesting and a HELLO from Connecticut Vanessa and Lisa ...
Very interesting video Vanessa ! Some of the artwork is fascinating; certainly unique and time consuming for the "artists ". A wise decision to take Lisa with you, this place is potentially very hazardous. Nice choice for a visit !
I don't know why...You pressing the button made me laugh..Great vid as always..x

Great video. Very interesting place I really enjoy your visits to abandoned places. You both did a super job. Thank you
I was totally fascinated by this video - It is always fun exploring places like that - It is a shame that when buildings are abandoned, they are left to deteriorate and not made into something useful - Thank You for making this video as it was very interesting to watch.
Hello Tom! Thank you for watching! They want to build a new Hotel there, but neighbors fight against this plans. Happy easter!
I love exploring abandoned places!
Wow very cool place like stuff like that spooky too 👍👍
Very very interesting. Thank You. Tony Allemand
Thank you very much Toni! Happy easter!
This was a different video. But it was a very interesting place to explore . Thank you both for sharing . I love exploring old places. Have a great evening and see on the next one.
Interesting video.... thank you for sharing with us .
Very cool find! Thanks for sharing!
Abandoned explores are cool.
Happy Easter Vanessa and Lisa. Thank you for this interesting video. I wonder how we can let go of such things that cost so much money and leave it behind. Take care of you.
Very good show Vanessa. Quite different from the shows I'm used to seeing. I really enjoyed Lisa as well. Although she did not talk very much she was a definite delight. It's really sad to see such a great structure being neglected by the owners and then abused by Vandals. I special love the kitchen area. And the decorative room with all the wood. Thank you for all the time you put into this. And thank you for bringing that lovely Lisa along with you. It'd be great to see her back for another invite. Keep up the good work. 😉
Hello Alvin! Thank you for your very nice comment!
Happy easter!
If walls could talk there would be some interesting story`s...... Some of that Graffiti was very very good... They should do it on a canvas and put them in an Art Gallery..... I also like exploring... Stay safe and Keep smiling... :-)))
You are still improving on your health...A lot of recoverable stuff in that building...That could be used to build something nice...
cool video... you should do a stealth camping in a (safe) abandoned place video
Take care that you do not disturb too much asbestos dust when you in these old boiler rooms XXX
Neat looking place, Glad you had someone with you. A Happy Easter to you,and your family vanessa.
This would have been a very nice p;ace for medical treatment or rehabilitation after an injury 80 years ago. The colors, etc., were soothing and there was an effort to get in sunlight, and so on to make the spaces in the building pleasant. Some of the kitchen equipment seems to have been made as recent as the late 1970s, so i suspect it has only been closed for about 40 years. It doesn't take long for the graffiti artist to ruin things though.
Love your video!!! Love your accent... Thank you so much for this video you just took me to a journey with you guys!
Very cool. I went with my daughter to Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville Kentucky and did an exploration and ghost hunt. You need to read about that place. It's very interesting but creepy nonetheless. Thanks your videos. It provides me with an escape due to my health. 🤠🇺🇲
The creepiest music in the whole video about the abandoned hospital was while you were exploring the kitchen. That amused me bigly.
Hi Vanessa and Lisa, you've shown us many abandoned buildings, and I just love these videos, imagining the history of this massive hospital, if only walls could talk! It's still in a sound condition, but why are they always vandalized? You found what appeared to be a gymnasium, and some very artistic graffiti. All very fascinating, and thank you both for bringing me along.
A tablet of food is a food tray.
Interesting place.
Tablets are a way medicine is formed or a small computer, or a pad of paper.
Hugs. Thank you for being you.
Thank you for join us Brian !
Happy easter!
The hearing thing you looked at is called an Audiometry Chamber
Interesting place to explore for sure. Looks like you have someone else to take on your bushcraft adventures too :)
Love from Norway
