High density schools? Maybe in the main commercial zone. Great way to slope into the downtown skyline.

Yes this looks like a lovely neighbourhood! ♥ The only thing I would change is to have bigger and bushier trees on the wide padestrian path. I was wondeering about services, but I'm sure you got that covered ☺ As well as your plans for the rest of your downtown area. I'm looking forward to see it being build up!

Great episode and looks great! Great update from the previous area ^^ Small idea: You could add walking path/bridge from Chester square to the nearest monorail hub (next to the soccer arena). It would link city transportation even more and ofc ease up traffic ^^
4:13 The Par-clo is set up wrong. The cars can turn left when exiting the highway.😊
The left ramp is correct to only have the option to turn right. They turn to the top from the off ramp on the right. In fact, I don't know why the ramp on the right needs the ability to turn left across traffic when they can use the ramp on the left.
Always like the pedestrian areas! Well done. Suggestion- not sure if youre looking for unique assets outside of the creator packs, but I really like the 800 superior building. Adds a bit of orange-y color and height without being too tall.
whenever the loop appears on the create connection tool, click the loop twice in the middle and it will arrange properly.

Whatever happens with the downtown skyline, make sure the buildings leave minimal shadows on the lower buildings, so may need to space supertalls out more. Some nice plazas, transit hubs, and even a monument building would work 🤔

It think some of the highways could use some bike-highways-paths to get to other areas.

You could also use some financial buildings. In Washington Park there’s a nice spot for you to put the stock exchange, which would look nice with the park feel of the district
Looks great! Might want to turn on the policy that keeps heavy trucks from cutting through there, though. There seems to be a lot of that going on, and the residents probably don't like that too much.
Or just enforce the deliver everything policy for the pedestrian area, then the trucks will only go to the service points.
hey Biffa, do you play around with realistic populations settings for high density residential? I'm finding my cities to be far smaller than yours for similar population once I start unlocking High density options. I currently have a city at around 90k pop, but there's around 1/5th of the high-density zoning. I might be mistaking a lot of those buildings I'm seeing as residential when they might be offices or commercial props. Like sometimes I can zone three 16x8 blocks of hi density self-sufficient and be gaining 600-700ppl down the bottom for a while.
It's looking posh alright. So for the next area, more post-modern looking buildings and skylines would be cool. And maybe pedestrianized too...

Hi Biffa! Thanks for all the vids 😊. I’ve noticed a clear lack of sports venues (both professional, and public) beyond the standard football and baseball fields/stadiums. There are, for example, virtually no swimming pools (public or backyard), no hockey rings, no equestrian centers, cricket fields, no ski resorts, and so on. Is this intentional, an oversight, or are these assets not available? Thanks in advance for your response. Keep making these entertaining videos. 😊 L. S.
Heavy goods vehicles are using your new area as a shortcut. I think you should ban them from the area. But you should be careful to still allow them to access the pedestrian zone service point.
You forgot lane mathematics on the highway near the CBD ! I think there is too much building near each other, maybe more landmarks and skyscrapper would be fantastic for your skylines :)
So nice to see this, imo zoning and getting the stock buildings is horrible and ugly but i get it that you use that for bigger cities, anyway keep up the great work!!

The German city of Erfurt has a good part of its downtown pedestrian only with trams including a bigger plaza where a couple of lines meet. You could look into that for bigger pedestrian districts with public transportation that isn't buses.
12:43: The power line connection is not required, power has jumped across at the other end. 17:22: The power line is definitely not a requirement now. Perhaps you just like it. It's your city, mate.
Love the city builds, but what ever happened to the intersection load testing app/mod? Would love to see some more detailed looks at different interchanges and intersections.
For better sense of realism, metro tunnels and station maybe can be used by two or more lanes. And i would like if tunnels dont zigzag 😅

how are you doing with schools or other quality-of-life buildings in the area? Is there enough in the area outside the new zone to make up for the lack?
Know this a while ago but i kinda wish they add theses mods the uk builds and stuff in the vanilla game like probably cities skyline 2 do you agree? Love your videos btw:)
Your new residence has no parking especially with all the shopping. Plus you took away the elementary school, buildings might not upgrade. Nice look to build

Hate to say it but I like the before at 30:00 due to more trees.
The view you are showing will never be seen by the people that live there, but the trees will be.
Also seems more like the city grew to the before, instead of tearing everything down and forcing planning.

Some buildings can only be built once, unless you use mods :-)

Hold alt with the zoning tool to enable/disable zoning on one side or the other
"(... the skyline) is pretty poor ...", well if i made a city that had as nice a skyline, I'd be staisfied, But, then, I am not the Biff man.
I play on ps4 without the airport n pomanades dlc and i find that the perfect grid is a 40*40 with 2 spaces between residential n commercial Works best especially when upgrading to high residential, just switch the outer ring to offices with overhead crosswalks in between for transit and highschoolers
I forgot to mention limiting access by only connecting with one 4 lane road on each side 6 lane roads for commercial. I've only needed to upgrade a couple major intersections with roundabouts, I use 3 lane one-way with bike lanes
Also adding overpasses between neighborhoods with walk ways beside keeping walk ability key for transit
Those 2 spaces between commercial n residential can be used for walk ways n trees or transit when needed, I've only just started using trams over busses And everything connects perfectly
Traffic noise is minimal and you can max your high residential easy with a small university up until you upgrade with the campus dlc
I usually only use one train station for tourists and like 4-6 cargo stations to keep up with demand (goods) spread through out the city with industry
You should use giant redwood trees in the skyline area.

A very nice build and you're making use of what was an abandoned subway line (Dean Sq.). One tip - if you had put in a parallel platform underground metro station you wouldn't have the horky borkiness of the braided Yellow 🟨 and Green 🟩 Lines.

i suggest you should use the node controller more often and check your junctions and bridges etc, your nodes look not that good

Then how to remove the grid based, oversized regions, without loosing all of them money...
And then actually do the city (yes I know I could just use integrated mods to bypass unlocking bit... but I'm not into speedrunning... and always hope I can get it right without dying financially.
