Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran summed it up perfectly last year.. He said that every band that isn't in the Hall says it doesn't matter to them and they think it's stupid and call it the Hall of Shame and act like they don't care at all.. But the second you get nominated it's the most important thing in the world and when you get inducted it's like being knighted in music form.. Perfectly said 👏 👍
Duran Duran for the longest time said they didn't care. They were on many lists of bands not nominated then finally got in. They really are underrated and even though many deny it, ARE a rock band. They have always had a guitarist and play rock.
@@RadioLaPrincessI listen to some of the heaviest metal ever produced, and I love Duran Duran. Hell yeah they're rock 🤘 I grew up on and love 80's music. There are so many great bands that belong in the "true* Rock HOF.

Excellent video! You expressed many thoughts that I have long held and added some interesting new ones. I lived in Cleveland from 2000 to 2002 and was never tempted to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even though I regularly walked right past it. It was a joke back then and has only gotten worse. I can't believe that some of the great rock bands you and others have mentioned aren't in there...when will there be Justice?!
Thanks! I went to the RRHOF about 20 years ago and one thing that really blew my mind was how tiny Jimi Hendrix was. They had one of his outfits on display and it really showed how small some of the larger-than-life legends really were.
I respectfully disagree. The R&R Hall is worth one visit. Just to see handwritten lyrics by some of the greats, historic instruments, concert memorabilia. Despite the corporate nature of the hall, the artifacts are still awesome to behold.
Thank you for calling the R&R HOF out on their BS! Everytime my sister or friends will excitedly tell me about someone being inducted I really couldn’t care less.
The RRHoF made a huge mistake early on by inducting too many artists too fast. They should have limited each class to 4 performers, 1 techie (inventor, engineer, producer, DJ), 1 non-performer (songwriter, executive, agent). If they had done this, they’d still be inducting true R&R giants every year and wouldn’t have to induct marginal (Del Shannon, The Go-Gos,…) and non-Rock (half the freakin’ inductees) performers just so they can have a stupid ceremony every year. With this scheme, many deserving artists would have had to wait-often many years-but the true legends would have gone first, with artists like The Yardbirds, for example, having to wait until they became the best available. The first year might have been Chuck Berry, Elvis, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Leo Fender, and Leiber & Stoller. Yeah, this leaves off Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Pekins, Roy Orbison, Les Paul, etc… but that’s the whole point.
Unlike The Bangles, The Go Go's had a documentary that was perfectly timed. I could hardly get through it, looked like one big advertisement and appeal for the Rock Hall. Of course, these days, you don't even need to be a rock and roll artist at all to get in!
@@RushTrader Yeah, it didn't sell the group. I thought "Our Lips Are Sealed" was really the Go-Go's only calling card. Other than that, The Bangles were more interesting and had more hits. I couldn't believe it when I found out they weren't in. Yet.
Good to see you back. I'm not too bothered by the electronic groups, but other than that, I agree with you completely. Ridiculous that bands like Jethro Tull and Kind Crimson aren't in while a bunch of non-genre artists are. The problem is too much power to force their tastes from Wenner, etc.
I thought this was a great vlog. !! You NEED to make a NEW VIDEO. Do one of the rediculous Kiss Avetars!!! I think you would make the best and most hilarious of that. Your Kiss videos are the best and get me rolling!! Please make a comeback video doing Kiss including their Avetars Thanks Ant!!!!
I agree with you. Rappers shouldn't be in there. This is insult to rock and roll fans everywhere. No doubt about it. This is a disgusting and incompetent.
How many rockers are in the hip hop hall of fame? Won't happen either. The RRHOF was an annual, high profile event that was losing touch with the younger generations. The way you get them watching is by bending the rules so that Tupac can make it in. Yeah, disgusting is an understatement.
In terms of excluded band members, I think Patrick Moraz got screwed twice. He should have been inducted with both Yes and the Moody Blues. And speaking of the Moody Blues, I find it interesting that Denny Laine got inducted with them (which of course he should have and I think they had to make the case to the hall to include him). Yet he has no induction with Paul McCartney and Wings, which he is more well known for.
Good stuff, thanks for the info! Yeah, Moraz was with the Moodys when they returned in the 80s, he should have definitely been in there. And yes, Denny Laine not getting in with Wings is crazy.
@@RushTrader well what doesn’t make any sense to me in the music business is when I was growing up I think the Grammys are a big joke the most untalented recording artists were winning the most Grammys like Duran Duran culture club wham prince Micheal Jackson and all those artists are terrible and the most talented recording artists that I can think of never won any awards like David Bowie he has never won any Grammys not even one award The Rolling Stones they never won any awards when the stones were in there prime they had so many hit songs they should of won a lot of Grammys The Beatles never won any awards The Who and so many other artists some artists that won awards never even made it they were 1 hit wonders the more better the artist is the less awards they win they are lucky if the artist can win a lifetime achievement award weather if the artist is dead or alive I gave up watching award shows a long time ago
the hall of shame only puts in acts they believe people will want to come visit and pay to see bs . I am Canadian and definitely the Guess Who & BTO should be in Randy Bachman's genius and Burton Cummings for the Guess Who are left mout in the cold good thing we Canadians are used to the cold.
There should be one. I don't see how adding more metal bands to the RRHOF will help anyone's image. Next year, Britney Spears is eligible so it's possible that Iron Maiden and Britney could be nominated in the same class in the near future. You think Bruce Dickinson would be happy with that? He's already unloaded on the RRHOF and I wouldn't expect Maiden to even show up for such an "honor". Metal should definitely have it's own hall of fame.
I visited the RRHOF 6 years ago. They were asking people what they thought of it, not sure why, on the way out. I didn't purchase anything other than my ticket and left with this explanation. I listed about 25 bands who should be in but weren't and ultimately landed on a lengthy explanation of one band. Iron Maiden. I told them, at the time, this band has been around for 45 years, has released 17 studio albums with the last being last year and over 30 with live albums, Every one of their albums has charted on a top 40 in either North America, Europe, or Asia, they sell out stadiums, festivals, and arenas world wide to this day and have had this lineup, adding Janick Gers, and briefly Blaze Bayley, for 35 of those years. Lets compare this to bands already in. The Beatles toured for 4 years. Guns N Roses had 3 albums in 5 years. Metallica went for 8 years before falling off a cliff in the early 90s.
7yrs wait for the MC5 the last three members within a month of one another 2024, and then suddenly the R&R Hall of Shame announces their induction for October 2024. Bands that were functioning 30 years ago who disbanded get in, and then there are Bands well known over 60yrs still out in the cold with a decade of request nominations- it’s BS and stinks of Greed and Arrogance like everything else in this crooked country.
Lol, I never knew about Harry Belafonte. Great video, good to see you again. I actually like Depeche Mode a lot from 1986 forward. But if they are in so should all the artists you mentioned.
Thanks! I like some of Depeche Mode's stuff, Violator is probably my favorite. But, in terms of the rock and roll hall of fame, I don't think they belong there.
I agree with most of this except Dolly is awesome even though she like many others shouldn’t be in there…sounds like they really twisted her arm, probably saying that her refusal would have been equivalent to your position that hip hop and other genres should not be included as they are not rock n roll, where saying so could have been construed as something very bad…
Thanks for your comment! I tried explaining why Dolly is a dummy but YT censored me, so I'll try again. It's a shame that I have to speak in tongues just to get my point across so well try another way. The reason why she's a dummy has nothing to do with the RRHOF. What I find disgusting about her is how she berated her fans into getting "poked" (which she also invested in). Dolly is an ignorant hick who has no business giving any kind of medical advice, especially having to do with "the poke", which has destroyed lives. Here is the video I'm talking about: ua-cam.com/video/OjbSWebA3Ko/v-deo.html
I would have to agree with everything that you said with one exception, your description of Dolly Parton. I do agree that she is not Rock but the fact you call her Dummy is not called for no matter your personal feeling. Actually, didn’t you say that she was not on board with the nomination at first? Regardless, I’m just saying she deserves respect for what she, herself has achieved and maybe her influence to younger people. I don’t know but she doesn’t deserve the name Dummie
Thanks for the comment. Regarding Dolly, I've explained it here before (sometimes with Yahoo censoring me). She promoted getting the "poke" (which she also invested in) to her fans calling them "chicken squats" if they weren't onboard. Meanwhile, so many have needlessly suffered and died as a result of reckless advice like hers. Calling her a dummy is going easy as I find her disgusting regardless of any charity work she's done. Oh, and her new "rock album" is beyond cringe and a slap in the face to the rock genre.
Well Respectivly alot of us Rockers do Respect Dolly what she did to her record company after they dropped her was pure freaking metal and she went on QVC and sold more albums under her own label than she ever did with the corporate conglomerate so she has my respect for the Hall of fame now Eminem can go flush himself
Glenn Schwartz one of the greatest rock guitarist will never be induced into Rock and Roll hall . Influenced artist from Hendrix Zeppelin and the black keys .
@@RushTrader Billy Joel pushed for Joe Cocker big time to no avail. I seen Joe Cocker open for the Guess Who in 2001, Joe was Great with two back up singers, and it was the last tour for the Bachman/Cummings Guess Who also. Good times
Great episode. It’s too bad they trashed something that could have been great. I’ve always wondered who these yeehaws are that make these decisions. 😵💫
Jethro Tull first. Then Squeeze, Boston, Procol Harum and a number of sixties bands that made a lot of the great pop rock music we listened to, such as Paul Revere and the Raiders and Herman's Hermits, and Leslie Gore. In the folk category there are several, and as Peter, Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan are in, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, The Seekers and Melanie should be considered. For non-performers, there is Phil Ramone, Tony Hatch, Terry Melcher, and Bob Crewe. Sidemen Tommy Tedesco and Carol Kaye. And song writers Sloan and Barri. You can argue about some of them, but based on who the Hall has already inducted, I have no problem with these artists.
odd q: can i debate you on some of this? i don't do youtube or anything but i want to debate you on some of this. i feel there are points we agree but the ones we disagree on i feel there would be an interesting chat to have
Quite honestly, my interest level in the RRHOF has been reduced to mockery levels so I really don't take seriously anything they do anymore. So, I wouldn't really be interested in spending time on a debate over what the RRHOF does. However, if you want to go a back and forth a little bit here in the comments over something, that's fine. Thanks for watching!
@@RushTrader fair enough I do acknowledge the conversation involves a lot of talk about definitions (mainly rock n roll as a genre vs rock n roll as a term) which never get settled. I do agree about the members thing the rules used are cartoonish and seemingly not strictly enforced. Also kind of curious about your thoughts on the Beastie boys (who were seemingly the only rap act not dismissed here) and rage against the machine (a regular rock hall nominee) who are rap with a focus on live instruments rather than a dj.
Regarding the Beastie Boys, I think they're hip hop at heart and not a rock and roll band. So, even though I didn't include them in my video, I would easily add them to that list. Rage Against the Machine are a hard rock band so I would expect them to get in at some point.
Belafonte is a shredder ! What tone....his pinch harmonics totally inspired Zack Wylde. He can tap better than Van Halen......what technique ! Daylight come and me want to throw up.
LL Stool Jay 🤣 No ELP, No Tull, No to the rock hall of fame. It took too long to get Yes in. Too bad Chris Squire couldn't be around for their induction.
jay z has a lot of influence there and i really believe that he's the reason that groups like kiss, rush and black sabbath have had to wait like 30 years while they roll out the red carpet for missy Elliot 😂😂😂😂
I visited the baseball hall of fame the football hall of fame and even the baseball bat factor in Louisville Kentucky and had fun leaving those places feeling satisfied but when I visited the rock and roll hall of fame I was disappointed I probably spent about 20 minutes in there walking out mad over the same things your were talking about like Bad company I will never go back and I say to everyone to never go there ever . It's rock not country or rap they have their own hall of fame.
Tommy James was a hit machine for over 3 decades. He should be in the RHOF. If he had stayed the bubblegum king, I might think otherwise, but he evolved into outright psychedelia, then released several adult-rock hits into the 1980s. As far as I know, he’s never been nominated. Why the snub of Soundgarden? A seminal grunge band with a vocalist you can actually understand without a lyric sheet (unlike Nirvana and Pearl Jam). Kansas? Jethro Tull? Foreigner (another hit machine)? Hell, I’d rather see 3 Dog Night inducted than Donna Summer, Eminem, Notorious, Dolly Parton [unlike Tony, I love her, but Rock?], Belafonte, Coltrane [also love him-as a Jazz giant!],…
I meant to put in 1960 radio stopped playing rock and roll as the Payola Investigation started and a lot wondered why did rock change so much in 1960 some say well Elvis decided that when he came out of the army he needed to change his image that couldn't be farther from the truth what happened was the mainstream the public said rock and roll had to go so the radio DJs a lot that took bribes that were so afraid to get caught said no rock were they going to play as they were too afraid of being suspected of Payola they didn't want to get busted so would a song like jailhouse do k has made it to number one in 1960 I say never could have hit the radio went pop mostly and any true rock and roll got played yet in all that are you lonesome tonight and a theme from a summers place was again is a bluebird blue by Conway Twitty and the hurt in my heart by Conway Twitty and again Conway Twitty Could have left his music turn into a total non rock just pop songs easy listening but not Conway Twitty In 1961 he did A Long Black Train What Was Elvis Doing There's Always Me Yeah there where Elvis Was Sure he did a song Little Sister But Again He was Suppose to be the King of Rock Yet His Rock songs at this time were few and far in-between and so the Payola Investigation had changed so much in 1960 and then in 1964 the go ahead play rock on radio was allowed but surprisingly it was The British Bands getting most of the plays as the first generation of rock was grown and the second generation was on their turn
I respectfully disagree There may of been a genre called Rock n Roll in the 50s and 60s but that branched out into “Rock and R&B” and Rock and R&B branched out to many other genres such as Funk,Soul,Hip Hop, Metal,New Wave,Disco,Punk,Indie,Alternative,Electronic and many more genres and subgenres Now the Rock of the 50s and 60s were heavily influenced by Country,Blues,Jazz,Gospel and R&B of the early days That is what Rock n Roll mostly is it’s not one single exact genre it’s a family tree of many Music genres and subgenres They may be many Rock acts not inducted already that should already be inducted (Iron Maiden,Thin Lizzy,The Smiths,Joy Divison/New Order,King Crimson,Motorhead,Phil Collins and Soundgarden) But the Hall is mainly a museum that wants to tell people of Rock music and the genres that it inspired and was influenced by
Agree completely, it's a complete joke the JackAss bands that get into the rock hall of fame. Not Rock bands at all. But at the last of the video showing Boston, OF ALL FUCKING BANDs, as well as Foreigner not in with the likes of the lightweights and non genre bands that are in the hall is a total mockery of what being part of the hall is about.
To me, both are very expensive toilet paper. At one time, I subscribed to RS but between their glorification of pop drivel and corrupt politicians, it had to stop.
Rock and roll Hall of Fame has never really been my favorite thing in the world I can't stand when they put people who aren't rock into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame it's not the music Hall of Fame it's the Rock Hall of Fame it's new name should be the Rock and roll Hall of shame
So many of my favorite bands and artists from my teenage years are not in. Mott the Hoople Kansas Jethro Tull Peter Frampton King Crimson Boston Grand Funk Railroad Steppenwolf ELP You lost me with calling Dolly Parton "Dummy" though. She's an amazing woman. A great songwriter, guitarist, and entrepreneur. You need to back off of that. It tells me you don't know what you're talking about. In don't believe she belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame either. If you don't like here music, that's one thing, but to personally insult her as "dumb" only reflects on you.
Hey Ant. Totally agree with you. Its called The Hall of woke Inclusion aka Bull Shit. After listening to your comments I think Patrick Moraz should have been included with Yes! You were a little hard on Dolly. She tried to say No, and at least tried to play the part at the ceremony. As it stands this is not a rock and roll hall of fame.
Dolly is enshrined in that joke in Cleveland. And she is NOT Rock & Roll, she's COUNTRY (meaning no disrespect to a fellow Tennessean who ALSO happens to be the QUEEN OF COUNTRY). The Scorpions aren't enshrined in Cleveland. And they WERE Rock & Roll.
Dolly does a lot for charity (she has a book program for kids) so calling her Dummy seems harsh but everyone has their opinions. I will state though I was happy Duran Duran got inducted. Many discount them and state they are a pop and/or boy band, but they aren't. Their best music is not many of their biggest hits, many are heavier.
I appreciate your comment. Regarding Dolly, I've explained it here before (sometimes with Yahoo censoring me). @@RushTrader Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just happen to like all of the good she has done, like donating money to HBCU and her reading program. In a world where so many celebs do nothing, it's nice to see one who does. I will admit it was an interesting choice inducting here when by the strictest standards she's not rock but on the other hand many others acts not rock by the strict standards have been inducted. Actually going by that, most of last year's inductees would not be considered rock is going by the strict standards. However, if going by a mainstream top 40 standard it makes sense as so many of her songs crossed over and are country pop or even pop. She even has an interview from years ago where she stated she wanted a pop audience as well and wrote pop songs.
Even though my old faithfuls, QUEEN (2001) and two of my PROG BIG FOUR, GENESIS (2010) and YES (2017) are in, I feel like the hall of fame is not representative of what the listening public considers great and influential in the realm of rock. It's not rock and roll anymore, look at all these hiphop and R&B artists getting in before the likes of ELP, Jethro Tull....besides I have my own hall of fame where it doesn't take people long to get in :P
The RRHOF has lost all credibility whatsoever. I'd like to see more rock bands stand up, decline their induction and call out the RRHOF for their blatant disregard of the rock and roll genre. The way things are going, Britney Spears will be eligible soon so...
I definitely do not support rap artists in the Rock & Toll Hall of Fame. However, since so many rock artists have tame pop like songs and have had pop rock songs such as The Beatles & Eagles, Country is related to Rock and so you have country rock Lynard Skinnard and others. So this is why O think that some pop & country stars shpuod be included. So I support Madonna Whitney Houston Dolly Parton in the R&RHoF Cher- Pop Rock icon Suzie Quatro-who is a rock star both should be included as well As should contemporary stars P!nk Katy Perry Ed Sheeran The Weekend Adele Taylor Swift Lady Gaga Rihanna Bruno Mars Lana Del Rey Heavy Metal artists should definitely be included Iron Maiden Queensryche Pretty Reckless
When will Supertramp be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Why have they not been inducted? BREAKFAST IN AMERICA is a great album. If they are inducted, not sure if Roger Hodgson would show up since he is not on the best terms with former band mate Rick Davies.
The tone of this channel has changed, prioritizing childish nicknames like 'Dummy Parton,' over the love of music. I think it's silly to call a successful business woman with theme parks, and one who is legally allowed to run a charity, a "dummy." Just as silly as narrow-minded gatekeeping and the otherizing of folks and genres. The Rock Hall is a music hall of fame. If they limited to Rock and Roll their would be little else outside of Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino. Music evolves and like Chuck D and DMC said in The Crossroads jam the year Rush got in, "The Blues gave birth to Rock N Roll." Hip-hop is just as valid as an art form and if you know your history, it comes from spoken word and Afrobeat, the same genre and the Talking Heads incorporated into their music during their trips up and down the NYC subway seeing acts like Roxanne Shanté perform on *their* trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You mentioned Zeppelin who had many of their album notes updated for not giving credit to the blues artist they took from while hip-hop artist tend to credit when they sample. I prefer Rob Halford's open and loving reaction Dolly instead of the attitude of the, "Sure I don't mind interviewing you, but ultimately, you don't belong here," attitude. The spirit of rock and roll is more about people from different backgrounds coming together sticking it to the man, not segmenting one another while upholding the status quo. Shoehorning your views about vaccines and drag queens (some drag queens like RuPaul were punk rockers kicking down doors) overshadows your valid points the Rock Hall's inconstant line-ups, classifications and how poorly they prioritize when and which bands get in.
Obvious! If you don't have a famous guitarist your not Rock. Hey! Dolly can play the banjo and the acoustic guitar. They always give the hard rock bands the shaft. Metalica's bass players are all amazing. The new guy was in suicidal tendencies and infectious grooves.
Yeah Huey it's such an unfair rap. Yes they wrote pop songs like Stuck With You but they never were precious and took themselves too seriously. Wouldn't that be great to see more bands being less up themselves. They wrote rock songs that were more like early rock than heavy rock but in still was the real thing. Working for a Living, I Want a New Drug, Hip to be Square, The Power of Love, A Couple Days Off, Heart and Soul, I Know what I Like, Who Cares? Build Me Up. The Only One etc.... If you aren't familiar with some of these songs check them out. IMO Huey Lewis and the News has been one of the most poorly treated and overlooked bands since their heyday. They may not of been the ultimate musicians but they were all good players and Chris Hayes guitar solos were awesome. I believe this is simply a case of typical Rolling Stone crap i.e. image first, music last. But HLN were a fun rocking band, huge sellers in the eighties and deserve some respect. You can rock and have fun at the same time.

Right on Brother! I feel the same way as u. musically and current events .
How are the Go-Go's in the HOF and not the Bangles?
Please make a comeback video doing Kiss including their Avetars
Thanks Ant!!!!
I agree that Bad Company should be in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but they have to include Brian Howe.
R&R H.O.F Is a Fkn joke.. you're right on board with what you said.. totally agreed
What's the difference, halford doing an Xmas album, him attempting painkiller or singing with dummy Parton?????????
I don't know if I ever heard about the Halford Xmas album... Not sure that I want to either!
I wish there was an official Metal Hall of Fame. With Iron Maiden being the first nominee.
I’m also curious where the hall of fame will be when they run out of record industry past artists. Will they start inducting UA-cam artists?
Sure, why not? As long as they have a rock and roll "vibe"... 🤣
Halloween is dead
@@RushTrader I always thought they should have called it The Music Hall Of Fame and all problems solved.
Grand Funk Railroad should be in there just for the live concerts they put out.
Solo artist: David Gilmour - ask any guitarist if he influenced them?? Bands: UFO (How is UFO not in yet?) and Kansas ('Nuff said).
And it also sucks
Haywire - Platium Blonde - Boston - April Wine -
Welcome back Tony !!!!!!!
I gave up on The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when they put rappers in there and Joan Jett The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a joke.
Jethro Tull, Grand Funk Railroad, Thin Lizzy, The Guess Who, Warren Zevon, Joe Cocker, Boston, Procol Harum, Humble Pie, Uriah Heep, Molly Hatchet, Robin Trower, STEPPENWOLF !!! Kansas, Meatloaf, Jim Croce.
All good ones... hard to believe Cocker isn't in yet. So, Harry Belafonte gets in before him? Got it.
@@RushTrader Billy Joel pushed for Joe Cocker big time to no avail. I seen Joe Cocker open for the Guess Who in 2001, Joe was Great with two back up singers, and it was the last tour for the Bachman/Cummings Guess Who also. Good times
You are spot on! I used to be into the Rock Hall… I pay no attention to any more.
Guess who
odd q: can i debate you on some of this? i don't do youtube or anything but i want to debate you on some of this. i feel there are points we agree but the ones we disagree on i feel there would be an interesting chat to have
Quite honestly, my interest level in the RRHOF has been reduced to mockery levels so I really don't take seriously anything they do anymore.
Every time I hear frank marino wail I can slightly hear the hasty belefonte influence hhhhhhhhahaha
Harry
Belafonte is a shredder ! What tone....his pinch harmonics totally inspired Zack Wylde. He can tap better than Van Halen......what technique ! Daylight come and me want to throw up.
Yes, yes...now that you mention it!
Rock and roll is dead
Styx
I visited the baseball hall of fame the football hall of fame and even the baseball bat factor in Louisville Kentucky and had fun leaving those places feeling satisfied but when I visited the rock and roll hall of fame I was disappointed I probably spent about 20 minutes in there walking out mad over the same things your were talking about like Bad company I will never go back and I say to everyone to never go there ever . It's rock not country or rap they have their own hall of fame.
When you open the doors to the RRHOF it should play Stranglehold....
I have say from the beginning, called it the rap or pop hall of fame. One more point, you are too funny.
You like many others don’t know what Rock and Roll is about. It certainly isn’t about guitar and drums.
Operation Mindcrime I think is a very underrated album by Queensryche a very underrated rock band
#1 reason is Jan Wenner
I respectfully disagree
There may of been a genre called Rock n Roll in the 50s and 60s but that branched out into “Rock and R&B” and Rock and R&B branched out to many other genres such as Funk,Soul,Hip Hop, Metal,New Wave,Disco,Punk,Indie,Alternative,Electronic and many more genres and subgenres
Now the Rock of the 50s and 60s were heavily influenced by Country,Blues,Jazz,Gospel and R&B of the early days
That is what Rock n Roll mostly is it’s not one single exact genre it’s a family tree of many Music genres and subgenres
They may be many Rock acts not inducted already that should already be inducted (Iron Maiden,Thin Lizzy,The Smiths,Joy Divison/New Order,King Crimson,Motorhead,Phil Collins and Soundgarden)
But the Hall is mainly a museum that wants to tell people of Rock music and the genres that it inspired and was influenced by
Agree completely, it's a complete joke the JackAss bands that get into the rock hall of fame. Not Rock bands at all. But at the last of the video showing Boston, OF ALL FUCKING BANDs, as well as Foreigner not in with the likes of the lightweights and non genre bands that are in the hall is a total mockery of what being part of the hall is about.
Very political! I was so excited to see this video until I wasn't
That's fine, my videos aren't for everyone.
I have no time for Time magazine or Rolling Stone.
To me, both are very expensive toilet paper. At one time, I subscribed to RS but between their glorification of pop drivel and corrupt politicians, it had to stop.
@@RushTrader Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull wrote that line in this song ua-cam.com/video/c5ebEISCV_4/v-deo.html

Mott the Hoople
Kansas
Jethro Tull
Peter Frampton
King Crimson
Boston
Grand Funk Railroad
Steppenwolf
ELP
You lost me with calling Dolly Parton "Dummy" though.
I agree with all the points you made
Patrick Moraz should have also gone in with The Moody Blues, especially since he was part of their 80s revival.
@@RushTrader Amen!
Before I was even aware of YES (my Favorite band) I loved the Music of the Moody Blues!
Commodores belong in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Brick House.
I agree they are insane and an embarrassing joke.
Yeah they should change the name
Harry Belafonte is in there because he is a black civil right activist not as a music influencer
Rappers and country and disco singers don’t belong in the so called hall less of fameless
So I support
Madonna
Whitney Houston
Dolly Parton
in the R&RHoF
Cher- Pop Rock icon
Suzie Quatro-who is a rock star
both should be included as well
As should contemporary stars
P!nk
Katy Perry
Ed Sheeran
The Weekend
Adele
Taylor Swift
Lady Gaga
Rihanna
Bruno Mars
Lana Del Rey
Heavy Metal artists should definitely be included
Iron Maiden
Queensryche
Pretty Reckless
American Pop - Rock Hall of Fame .
Styx should be in as well as Journey.
Boston suck so dose hewie louis
Dolly Parton was definitely making a joke of it which you should appreciate. There's nothing dumb about Dolly Parton.
Huey Lewis does belong in
The tone of this channel has changed, prioritizing childish nicknames like 'Dummy Parton,' over the love of music.
RaTM too
Why isn't Ted Nugent in?
Because he is a gun loving patriot.
Marilyn Manson
Alice Cooper
belong in the R&RHoF
Hall of shame sucks more than Paul Stanley
Meatloaf should be included
smon cowell !
