Dude i dont know much about cinematography and your channel but as a professional photographer trying to get into it, these simple scenes of your daughter blow my mind. You sir knownwhat youre talking about. Subscribing! Cheers
It’s a custom LUT, I actually regrading everything last minute because I’m trying a new technique, but if you follow my grading tutorial I put out a couple of weeks ago, that is pretty much it. Except for this I converted the footage to black magic film and did a color space transform from there to get it in the gen 5 film color space for black magic
Yeah, the first images were sharp. Interesting I overall performance for the price. Anyone other lenses you were thinking at the low price points? Rokinon, etc..,..
As far as cheap lenses, at THIS price and for full frame coverage it’s really Rokinon and now 7artisans. Meike and mitikon are still super 35 at this price point.
Great review, man. Love your daughter! she's a painter 😄. Yeah, I dig the design of these lenses and I use Samyang, cause I have the 6K Pro and almost all of them open at T1.5, but hey most of the time we ended up filming at 2-2.8 when we're indoors, so! Good choice, brother. Thanks for sharing (You found a PM coin on a bench!!!! lucky you!) 😁
Thanks man! Yeah she is a little artist. Trying to do some photography and painting, occasionally vlogging too haha I always was discouraged from Samyang cause of the chromatic aberration, but they are great lenses
These look good! However, other than Aperture control, I feel like the L-Mount 1.8 primes from Panasonic (with 67 mm focus gears added) are a good alternative (esp for hybrid shooters looking for AF options with the lenses). They have some compromises - mainly the plastic build, and no aperture ring, but offer AF, lighter weight, consistent design and a pretty solid image. Would love to see a comparison if you feel like that'd be something that interests you
If there is enough interest I’ll try comparing anything 🤘🏻 I will say I prefer micro cine lenses if I’m going to end up manually focusing anyways, but I do agree about the weight
listening to shooters discussing the merits of this or that lens is like listening to two coke addicts discussing the merits of bolivian vs. panamanian cut--when you know they want both and more if possible lol Glass Addicts Anon!
@@rightrightrightuhhuhuhhuh6516 Can't argue with that, although in my defense, I do own only the S primes + Nikkor vintage lenses for my full frame kit. And only planning to expand into the S prime line of lenses :)
Great video on this lens. I use the Panasonic S1H and also use Cannon EOS R in the R mount. I was looking at these and was wondering to use these on both camera mounts, should I get the PL mount and adapters for each camera, as I can only purchase 1 or 2 lenses. Or go mount specific? (The L mount for the Pannay, and the EF for the Cannon with an adapter. Sorry for the newbie question.
You would not be able to use both lenses on an RF camera and L mount camera. If you want for both, they would be two separate lenses. If you want something that is adaptable to both cameras you may want to look at other brands that offer EF or PL mount lenses
@@Ansonandco in general! I compared it to my other 35mm's from DZOfilm, Sony, and Sigma and they were all similarly balanced at 5600k. This one, the colours are on the green side. I have to put +4 on magenta on my white balance. I'm thinking it could be just my copy... lol

Say, can we use the anamorphic mode of the s5 on this lens?
Do cine lenses make a compromise when it comes to ultimate sharpness since their resolution target is typically 4k, when compared to photo lenses.
Not necessarily. There are plenty of cinema lenses that are manufactured for 6k or even 8k. Sigma I believe is 6k
