Absolutely one of my favorites! Long live the King. Was blessed to see him in concert (thanks Mom!) when I was 6 years old. I’ve never forgotten the experience.
Even though Elvis sold more records than any other entertainers and was the superstar of superstars, listening to his records these past 40 plus years since his death; no one before or❤ after him even comes close to the voice or magnetism of the King. He will live forever through his music and will ALWAYS BE THE KING. ❤❤❤❤
This is one of my favorite Elvis songs. I’m from Tennessee & we love him. But I always imagine him walking through the rain looking for her.

1st of all, just wanted to say I love your reaction channel. Being from Nashville, Tennessee, born and raised, you're reactions to country music is sincere and genuine. I get more out of your soothing reactions and your true amazement to the sounds I grew up with, more than anything.
As I said, I was born and raised here in Nashville and I've never made a trip just 3 hours away to visit Graceland, home of Elvis, until 3 weeks ago when my cousins from Castledawson, Northern Ireland came for a visit. We were al so mesmerized by it all, and though I've always been a fan of Elvis ( I was 10 when he died), I never really appreciated him until our Graceland journey.
One of my all time favorite songs of Elvis was and still is, his live 1968 comeback performance of "Trying To Get To You". So please, if you can find the time, I'd love to see your reaction to this song

Kentucky Rain is one of Elvis’s best vocals, recorded at the infamous American Studios in Memphis where Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto, Don’t Cry Daddy, Memories and other monster hits were recorded about the time he returned to live performances. These sessions made a lot of young songwriters wealthy and enabled them to be success solo artists. Great review!!

Sweetheart, I am very sorry about your Mother! Life can be so hard. I lost my father when he was 61, and I thought nothing could be worse. My mother passed away much older, when she was 84. However, the death of my son at 43 is something that I cannot get passed! He died very unexpectedly from a bloodclot in his lung that went to his heart on May 25th, 2021. I don't know if this will ever be any better. I grieve for him every day! I will keep you in my heart and pray for you. Funny how our love for ELVIS can bring complete strangers together. God Bless You!

Another of my favorites, of his, is "If I Can Dream". I'm thinking you, maybe, haven't heard it---it was on his '68 Comeback Special, live, and his performance is extreme emotion; members of his band said he gave it his all, and was absolutely exhausted, afterwards. I clearly remember watching it, when it aired!
Remember Martin Luther King, Jr's speech, "I Have a Dream"? When he was killed, Elvis sang this, to honor him!

I’m partial to his gospel albums for which he won his 3 Grammys and I love all of his cheesy movies. I saw him in concert 3 times and he was always awesome!

You'll find that a lot of Elvis fans prefer the originals over the RPO versions. However, there are three albums for you to explore: Elvis Presley and the RPO "If I Can Dream" which was released in 2015, "The Wonder of You" (2016), and "Christmas with Elvis and the RPO" (2017). Fun fact: they sold much better in the UK than in the US. And there are some songs that you've already reacted to on these albums.

One of my favorite Elvis songs is “American Trilogy”. If you react to it you must do the live version from his Aloha from Hawaii. Absolutely breathtaking literally

This song was written by Eddie Rabbit, a successful country singer. The story goes Eddie was going to release this when he was first getting started and Elvis heard his rendition of the song and asked if he would allow him to record and release it first, so Eddie held off and Elvis released it. Go down the rabbit hole and check out Eddie.
This song and In the Ghetto were made toward the end of his career/life and I have always felt they were among his finest songs. So glad to find it again.

Listen, I recommend you it overlaps on that very exciting ballad slot, to hear Elvis' 1976 song "Danny Boy" I have never heard such a thing in my life. It just penetrates the soul.

This was a great song. Another good Elvis song that has this same feel is In The Ghetto. I think you would like this as well. It also tells a story.
The orchestra was added just a few years ago, so he didn't sing with them. It was a project that Priscilla Presley worked on and I really like the results. The original of Kentucky Rain didn't have such a strong orchestral background, but there were some strings and horns and it was simply beautiful.

My man Elvis beautiful inside and out. You need to check out some of his gospel songs and his duets made after his death, with daughter Lisa Marie ( Don't Cry Daddy, In the Ghetto , Where No One Stands Alone)
As an Elvis fan, it's just impossible to have a favourite song, but I have to admit that this is one of my favourites - it's a great country song. I don't dislike this version, but I much prefer the original.
One of the songs that has been re-done with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is 'Burning Love' (which I know you've already listened to live) and I think the version with the orchestra is great too.

These lyrics, especially that repeated phrase 'cold Kentucky rain', is part of my own childhood, growing up in Kentucky. I've known many an afternoon like the one he's describing.
Another memorable song that had that 'cold Kentucky rain' lyric, _You Can't Over Love,_ was sung a few years ago by country legend Collin Raye, sitting in with a group who cut a few memorable tracks, none of them major hits that I know of, The Fruit Guys.

Here's the original release of this particular Elvis song. It's a great song anyway but, the orchestra version of it does soften it up quite a bit. It doesn't seem to convey the desperation of him finding her. This version is actually on my favorites play list. Hope this helps!
